Okay guys....Season 2 is in the books! I have to say, I'm more involved in the show now than I was after Season 1. Im now 100% sure I'm gonna follow through until the end. The more I think about the casting and character development on this show, the more I like it. I have been paying more attention to the various dynamics among the castaways, and I particularly like how their strengths and weaknesses balance out. Even though Jack is regarded as the "leader", he's tactically ignorant and often hasty when it comes to strategizing. That's where someone like Sayid comes in and brings some intelligence to the game plan. Locke is sort of out there on his own for the most part, making temporary alliances here and there where it suits him. I enjoy his character a lot, but Season 2 really exposed some of his weaknesses, too....particularly when he abandoned the button after failing to weigh things out and come to a solid decision. His "my way or the highway" approach makes for an interesting story, too, even if it doesn't lend itself to harmony among the group. The girls seem to have chilled out, so I'm happy about that. Of course, the only way to shut a few of them up was to....well, you know....but that's fine with me lol. I feel bad for Hurley, though... So anyway, interested to see if Michael and little man find safety....and what happens to the main group of characters now that they've encountered the "others". Season 3, baby!!!!

I want to throw a vote out there for one of the original twist endings...."Witness for the Prosecution" I saw this film a few years ago when I watching some older stuff...fell in love with this one

Oh yeah, it's totally intense to do it that way. That's how I watched the first five seasons of 24. That show captivated me from the first episode and it was like an obsession to find out wtf was going to happen next. I even broke down and went to a Hollywood Video for the first time in like four years (at the time) because Netflix couldn't send em fast enough lol. Thanks for putting the spoilers in yellow, guys....I usually forget what I read, but prefer to continue participating in this thread w/out stepping on a mine lol

I watched a couple more last night, so I'm getting there! lol

I can't believe he didn't pick Tenley!!

Fuggit....I'll admit it....I was watching with a friend of mine...she bought me some pizza....sue me! (I agree....Tenley was amazing....the chick he picked is a spoiled kid who has no idea what real life is really like, and he'll end up wishing he didn't have a moment of douchery back when he had the chance to pick a real woman!) -
I like S2 so far....I'm 11 eps into it, so I guess it's a done deal that I'm gonna watch all the way through til the end. I'm diggin this hatch place....stick a nice home theater in there and I could be happy!

Well, I guess I won't have to worry about Shannon being annoying anymore....oops!

Do you ever run into celebrities
ajzepp replied to Hazed and Amuzed's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Back in the day I was a server at Tony Romas restaurant in Rochester. They were filming a couple of Bills related shows there, and they also had a charity rib eating contests with the guys from the team. It was pretty cool cause the players would come in through the kitchen entrance and they'd hang with staff until it was time to go on. We got to hang out with Thurman, L.Smith, K.Jackson, D.Talley, and a few scrubs. I also served Don Alhart, but if you're not from Rochester that won't mean anything to you. My brother is the GM at a local theater in one of the suburbs of ATL where many celebrities choose to live (Alpharetta), and he's run into Greg Maddux, Jeff Foxworthy, and Harry Connick Jr. He said Greg didn't say a word, Foxworthy was having fun overhearing the radio transmissions announcing his sighting, and Connick was apparently a massive douchebag. -
I used to really be embarrassed about the fact that I've dropped my Motorolla into the toilet on three occasions, but seems like that's not all that uncommon....so I feel much better now

I loved her in the bar scene from the airport lounge, but so far her island personna is pretty annoying. Not nearly as annoying as Shannon, mind you....but the only thing more annoying than her would be a lawnmower in my living room while someone runs a set of forks down a chalkboard. Now that hot Aussie chick is starting to get the same way....if I hear either of them say, "I can take care of MYSELF!" one more time, I'm gonna flip! The Korean guy is starting to become one of my favorites now....he's an interesting dude....crazy in la cabeza if he doesn't get back with Sun....she's a keeper!

Did you miss the part where they gave Borat his own fuggin store?
-
Having Michelle Rodriguez around definitely ups the ante...I've always liked her I'm already a few episodes into season 2 now since I posted this, so I'll go a LITTLE further lol. I think I enjoy the back stories more than the real story lol
-
Okay, the 7-11 one got to me a bit...if I owned a company, those are the people I'd want working for me. That guy from Borat country was awesome....I thought what they did for him at the end was a fantastic idea (not talking about the trip). I like this show!

Cool, thx James...it's been fun having the episodes to look forward to when I get ready to hit the sack at the end of the day. I"m pretty sure I'll watch the first half of S2 for sure, and then make my decision. The only character I really don't like is that blonde sister/not-a-sister chick who can't seem to talk without being a drama queen. She annoys the hell outta me, and I wish it was her and not her "brother" who fell over the cliff in the plane lol. I really like most of the other characters, and the back stories on most of them are very interesting. JJ Abrams is really starting to become one of my favorite producers/writers/directors....most everything I've seen from him, I've liked.

I have very fuzzy memories of this as a kid since I was only 7, but what a great sports moment. I loved the film "Miracle", too....I get chills every time I see clips of this game.

I'm dying to see this flick...trailer looks amazing! I agree with you guys about when to go to the movies. I absolutely refuse to see a new release on a friday or saturday night. I will see a flick that's been out a while on either of those nights, but for new releases I hit an afternoon show or go on a Sunday night. When the crowd is really into the film, it can be a great experience....but when you have a bunch of jerkoffs in the theater, it can totally ruin it.

So I just finished watching the first season of Lost on Netflix streaming. I know there are six seasons total, so I have to decide if I want to keep investing my time watching this show or move on to something else. So far I've found the show pretty interesting and it's certainly kept my attention, but I'm not nearly as addicted to it as I was '24' after season one. I very rarely watch scripted television to begin with, but when a show becomes as popular as this one has, I tend to at least want to give it a look. It's pretty awesome that I have the first five seasons available via Netflix streaming, and every episode is in HD (and looks great!), but there is a LOT of stuff to watch out there so I need some help from you guys. My frame of reference is season 1, so if you guys think the show gets better from here, I'll probably stick around. If not, I may just watch the first couple episodes from the next season and then call it quits if it doesn't capture me. Thanks!

Actually the ratings for these Winter games are very strong.

Happy Bday my Erie bro-hunny!!

I know it....I could understand at first, cause the HD cams were bigger and it was too cumbersome to carry them on this type of show....but there's no excuse now....it made a huge difference for Survivor!
-
Love this show...I just wish they'd get some FUGGIN HD CAMERAS!!!! Of all the shows that could benefit from HD, what better than a show where you get to see the world's most amazing sights?
