Oh yeah, I absolutely did...but Dale Murphy changed the game for me. I was a big Andruw Jones fan, Smoltz, Justice, hell, even Rocker....but there really hasn't been a player that really had me wanting to hit the park all the time and really re-establish my love for the game since the Murph. It was just on a different level back then, even though I've always been, and always will be, a Braves fan.

Baseball definitely can and the BRAVES definitely can! I haven't had a guy on this team that was truly my favorite player since Dale Murphy. So far I'm really excited about this guy
-
I'm still upset that we traded Frenchie, but the guy apparently needed a change of scenery. Would have loved to have seen him get it together while he was still here, though We've been waiting for the guy who would come in here and replace Chhipper as the team leader, so I'm hoping Heyward is the guy. He's already doing things at the plate that Frenchie couldn't do, so I'm hoping this guy is the real deal. He does have a lot of hype surrounding him, and he seems to be shouldering the hope of the African American community to a large degree, too. He's taking it all in stride so far, and I'm happily on his bandwagon.

They damn well BETTER come out of the group this time...especially with the time a lot of these guys have spent playing abroad over the past few years, I expect to see a solid effort from our boys.

I caught this show a few times last season and really enjoyed it. Thanks for the reminder!

Anyone see the ending to the Braves/Rockies game today? If not, you missed a really exciting finish in the bottom of the 9th! Jason Heyward has been impressive as hell since making the team this year. Opposing pitchers have tried to make adjustments on the guy, and while it worked temporarily, Heyward adjusted and started hitting again shortly thereafter. Today he had a 3 RBI game with a clutch 2-run double in the bottom of the 9th for a comeback win over the Rockies. Not only is this kid uber-talented, he's smart and he seems to love the game. This guy could be the foundation of the Braves franchise for the next 12-15 years. Go Braves!!!!

Doesn't ruin the threads at all, bro....of course, it's always a plus when the haters actually bring some wit and creativity to go with their hating, but what can ya do?

Well, having played soccer for ten years, I promise you that was a VERY difficult goal....just the control he exerted over the ball to even prep for the shot was difficult, let alone to hit a volley that found the net. Glad you have an open mind, though, cause even non-soccer fans can find enjoyment in the WC matches
-
I hope you're wrong about that, man....I want to see Italy, Brazil, my Germans, and the U-S-A all come out of their groups! I also want to see Freddy Adu get a miracle selection to the 23-man roster and have this WC be his coming out party...WOOOOHOOO!!!
-
Hell yeah, brother! Be sure to stop in our official WC thread once we get it going....it was a blast when we did it last time! Everything from great soccer talk to bad soccer talk, to haters who keep us entertained, all the way through to the final match
-
lol,Fairplay was hilarious!
-
Wow,precision header perfectly on sides and perfectly placed! Nice That announcer was NUTS! lol While we're at it, might as well remind everyone of the best goal of WC 2006, and one of the greatest goals of all time!!!
-
Only a few more months until the greatest sporting event in the WORLD kicks off....and here's a little something to get the other 8 soccer fans f ired up for the WC!!!
-
You haven't given the guy an ounce of credit to begin with, why should you start now, right? And who is this "we"? Most everyone who has chimed in on this thread can recognize Russell for the badass player he is....everyone except YOU.
-
This is a totally different game when Russell is in play...he does things and thinks about things differently than anyone else. I'm still in awe of the move he made when Tyson left...unreal!!
-
Totally agree, bro
-
I think he should keep his mouth shut too, but I think his ego is starting to become counterproductive lol. He's gotta quit thinking he's untouchable and protect himself better. He's in a great position right now, but I agree with you about Parv....she's dangerous as hell and could easily stab him in the back
-
There is nothing in the first five seasons that sucks....not even close.
-
I can't BELIEVE he did that

I did the same thing, man....and I ended up watching seasons 2, 3, 4, and 5 in short order, too, until I was caught up and ready to watch S6 on TV with everyone else. Some people felt certain seasons were better than others, but my general view is that if you really liked the first season, you'll really like the rest of them. In other words, the qualities that you really liked about your initial exposure are still goign to be present in following "days", so I say go for it. You're lucky, cause IMO watching the show on DVD is FAR better than watching it on TV. Not only are you without the commercials, but you can watch it almost in real time and you don't have the intensity from one episode wearing off over the course of the week before you see the next one. You carry it from one right into the next, and it's awesome
-
Not at all, bro....I enjoy reading about the various speculation and theories you guys have. It's forcing me to sort of keep reviewing the episodes in my brain, which keeps things fresh. James/Duey: Thanks for clearing that up, guys....much appreciated
-
Dang, thank God I got through all five seasons in time to be watching S6 with you guys....I'm reading through your posts and I'm getting more confused as to wtf is going on, lol. It sure is fun trying to figure it out, though! I can't believe that only a couple months ago I'd never seen a single episode of this show! BTW, why are you guys calling him "Flocke"?
-
So true....alliances are typically really short lived. They'll start a leg of the race aligned with another team, and then the minute one team falls back, the other team is like, FUGGEM! lol I also really like when you have teams who have never even been outside their own state, let alone the country....and they get so emotional about having the opportunity to see the world. There was a husband and wife "redneck" team on a few seasons back, and they were great to watch. When they got eliminated, they both broke down in tears and talked about how they'd remember the experience for the rest of their lives. Dang, I would LOVE to be on this show!!
