  1. I honestly had very little interest in this franchise after seeing the first film, but I kept up with the subsequent entries regardless due to having a few friends who really encouraged me to do so. Anyway, I will admit that the last two films (Deathly Hallows pt 1 and whatever the one was that came before it) sufficiently held my attention. I enjoyed the darker aspect of the subject matter, and I'm actually looking forward to seeing the final installment...on bluray, of course...not in the theater.
  2. Thanks everyone!
  3. I was having a hard time making much sense of it all too, to be honest. But like Meazza said, the way they do it makes the game much more interesting. Imagine if Mexico had a professional football league, so you'd have the MFL, CFL, and NFL for north america. The Euro Champions League would be like if the best few teams from each of these leagues were seeded into a tourney, and they all played until there was a champion of north american club football. You'd still have the NFL regular season, playoffs and super bowl, but then you'd also have a tourney where the best of the best from the entire continent played against each other. I don't often follow the individual leagues of European soccer (EPL, La Liga, Serie A, etc), but I keep tabs on the champions league every year and am always sure to watch the champs league final.
  4. Unreal...Barca just toying with them now...Man.U can't even clear the ball out of their own end, and they just paid for it by giving up the kill shot to David Villa. Barca...best futbal club on earth! That was probably one of the cups for the English league teams or something...not sure. Champions League is the best of the best, though.
  5. WOW!!!! lol The stars have come out to PLAY BABY!! What a great goal by the GREAT ONE...Lionel Messi! 2-1 Barca...how will Man.U respond??? (WHAT A MATCH!!)
  6. WOW!! On that goal by Pedro, that was one of the best passes I've EVER seen! I didn't see who it was, but he used only his peripheral vision to see Pedro to his right, and then threaded a pass through three Man.U defenders like thread through a needle...that was BEAUTIFUL!! 1-0 Barca Loving the intensity of this match! I thought for sure Man.U was going to just dominate this thing after the first ten mins. After that, Barca started getting some nice opportunities and Messi came OH so close to getting free in the box with only the keeper to beat. Awesome final so far Holy crap, just as I'm hitting "post", it's ROONEY with the equalizer! This match rocks!!!
  7. Can't wait!! ManU has compensated for the loss of Ronaldo by playing some stout defense, so this should be a helluva match-up.
  8. CJ and Easley are both going to bust out this year...I just got a feeling
  9. I really need to stop reading threads about this...I can't believe this is still going on...the whole thing is a disgrace.
  10. I love stories like this...dogs rule...and I agree, Dogs > People
  11. I don't know a lot about the guy other than the clips I've seen here and there about his work with Dr Drew and his multiple rehab admissions. Seems like the guy had one hell of a demon that he just couldn't overcome...RIP man
  12. Well, I come from a family of very proud military vets, many of whom played important roles during the second world war. I grew up watching war documentaries, seeing my Uncle literally tear up every time there was something on about the Marine corp from back in the day, and listening to stories about their time in the war. I'm right now sitting about ten feet away from some items from WWII that belonged to my grandfather. So if I need meds because I was completely thrown for a loop at the mere mention that certain events in our military history may have been false flag operations, then I guess I better load up on those sumbitches. Seeing actual government documents (Northwoods, or whatever) literally laying out the scenario of how specific operations may be carried out against our own country disgusted me. It's a huge slap in the face to anyone who has risked or sacrificed their lives in order to defend our country, and to this day I'm sickenedd by the notion that our government could even entertain such ideas, let alone the possibility that they have been carried out.
  13. Dang dude, I take part in self-deprecation every year when I discuss Idol week in and week out, but I sure as hell never had any desire to watch that piece of crap!
  14. That drives me nuts, too. My biggest pet peeve with basketball is how fouling is literally a legit strategy. I can't stand how you can have a great back and forth game, only to have the last few mins go down exactly as you described with the alternating fouls and free throws. The final few mins of clock can take like 20 damn minutes to complete. But I do enjoy the playoffs...glad to see the Mavs back in the finals...hope they whoop LeBron and Co.
  15. Good point. In fact, there are often references in the Pixar films that are clearly for an adult demographic, which I appreciate. Animated films are not necessarily kids films.
  16. The interactions between Les and Herb are some of the best ever...I loved that entire cast, but those two were a classic pair
  17. I'm a "fan" of the Sixers, but not so much of the NBA in general. That being said, I AM a fan of the NBA playoffs. I love this time of year, and I tend to try and catch as many of the games as I can. It's pretty much the same with hockey for me. I'm a marginal fan of the NHL, but I LOVE playoff hockey and I'm a fan of the Flyers. (I know, I know...)
  18. I've said this before on here, so I apologize, but I have to give Tom a lot of credit for getting me off the bridge after I had finished watching the first Zeitgeist film lol. I'm not even kidding...I came on here and posted about how messed up I was after watching it, and Tom chimed in with some feedback that helped me calm down a bit. I don't know if I can handle that experience a second time LOL
  19. What a crappy ending to an otherwise promising season... I'm tired of talking about Scotty, but I'll just say that I'll no longer consider Benny Affleck the luckiest man on earth...this kid just took his place. Lots of big stars on the show tonight, but I found myself using the FF button a fair bit. I like Kirk Franklin, but have had enough of Jacob. Was great to see Rob Halford and Judas Priest up there with James...that rocked! Loved the Lauren/Carrie Underwood bit. REALLY liked the Gaga piece...and I was really pissed that Tyler had to cut short the greatest rock song of all-time since the show was running a bit long The guy still has great pipes and I loved seeing him perform Dream On live. Also really enjoyed seeing Mark Anthony and J-Lo on stage...I don't know that Anthony has cut an English speaking album in quite a while, but I enjoy his spanish performances almost as much. The guy is one of the most talented singers in the business. Anyway, you had at least three or four idol finalists who would have made great winners...Pia, James, Lauren, and maybe Casey. But NOOOOOOOO....frickin no-talent Scotty has to win. Oh well...lol Really looking forward to X-Factor...I like that they will be bringing back the biting critiques, and I also like that they have duets and groups in addition to just single performers/acts. Before that, though, Big Brother will fire up next month so I hope some of you guys will participate in that discussion once we get it going, too
  20. If you want to have the exact opposite experience, watch some re-runs of WKRP in Cincinnati...one of the most underrated shows ever, IMO. I still laugh my ass off when I see it today
  21. Good call...one of the worst films I've ever seen for sure.
  22. Thanks, JWolf!
  23. Right on, brother!
  24. He's the most overrated AI finalist ever, IMO
