  1. He sure did. And you called it early on, man!
  2. Agreed. I'm trying not to get overly optimistic about this offense, BUT, if Easley ends up being a stud and CJ can show some growth during the preseason, I'd love to see us run some single back 4-WR sets. I forgot all about S.Nelson until you mentioned him, too...he's shown some flashes here and there, so if he takes a step in the right direction and can stay healthy, all of a sudden we have a LOT of weapons on offense. If the Oline can at least be average, this offense will score points.
  3. I can live with that lol
  4. He definitely earned my respect with this film. After I saw it, I started breaking it down in my head and the more I did the more I appreciated it. It's easy to dismiss a lot of it during the viewing, and at first I was close to doing just that, but then I sort of "got it" and became very into what was going on with Natalie's character. I thought it was really, really excellent film making.
  5. I figured this was all a bunch of bunk...seems like every few years you hear someone talking about how they know when the world will end. I did say a prayer last night just in case...better safe than sorry...but so far I don't really notice any diff- *POOF*
  6. That's honestly how I expected to feel about the Swan, but I ended up loving it. I have absolutely no interest in ballet, but the movie wasn't really about that at all. I thought the acting was stellar and the direction was brilliant. I know a lot of people who didn't care for it, though.
  7. Wow, I know this may put me at risk for taking some crap, but I'm really saddened by this. Macho Man Savage was a huge part of my childhood and I pretty much idolized the guy. I still remember the very first time I saw him wrestle, it was an MSG match on tv and as he was walking to the ring you could hear him say, "get the cameras ready, cause you ain't NEVER seen anything like what I'm gonna do here." Over the next ten mins I saw him do just that - moves I had never seen before. I geeked out big time when he popped Chico Santana with the steel to win the IC title in the Boston Garden, and I even remember how my elderly aunts and grandma would gather around the tv with me during Saturday Night's Main Event, particularly for his match against the Honky Tonk Man when he took a guitar to the head. It's funny, when you're growing up you just sort of assume that the people who are bigger than life (your parents, your movie heroes, sports heroes, etc) will live forever. Then as you get older and they start to pass away, it brings back just floods of memories. This is really a sad day....RIP Randy....OOOOOOOOOOOH YEAAAHHHH!!!!!!!!!
  8. I still can't believe James didn't even make the top 3. I really thought the final three would be James, Lauren, and Pia. At the beginning of the season, I never had Scotty and Haley on the radar at all. I'm really looking forward to Simon's X-Factor later this year. I like the fact that it's open to talent of all ages and they encourage group acts to audition. Rumor has it that Simon plans to get back to his "no holds barred" critique of the performers, which I'm really looking forward to seeing again. As for Idol, though, if Lauren doesn't make the finals, I don't even know if I'm going to watch lol. Haley has had a few moments here and there, but I just don't have much interest in her or Scotty.
  9. I'm with my brother Pete on the documentary thing, but I have to depart from his views on cinema, too. KD's list is excellent, and I'm certain that we could come up with a list ten times that long of equally worth films from the past decade. I think the big, loud action/popcorn flicks have really gotten crappy, but if you take the time to look around you can find some amazing cinema. The smaller indy films AND foreign cinema has a LOT of great stuff. "The Lives of Others" is a film that I rank among the best films I've seen over the past five or ten years, and I would bet that a guy like Pete would love it. KD's suggestion of "This is England" is fantastic, as well, and one that deserves more recognition. I'm biased, of course, as I am a huge movie guy...but like KD, I truly believe there are films out there for everyone to enjoy.
  10. Good points, all. I think it was just SUCH a contrast from what I had been watching since episode one that it struck me as a cop out. I just watched a movie called "Buried" a few weeks ago. The entire damn thing takes place under ground in a casket. That's like a bottle episode to the extreme lol. But the film kept me engaged and, at times, riveted. "Fly" sort of lost me at hello, though. That being said, the show got immediately back to what it was that I loved so much, and the finale was pretty damn intense. So I'm really looking forward to S4!
  11. I hear what you're saying, but I think you actually have a tale of BOTH strategies from this past season. What that tells me is that it's all about timing. Yes, you definitely want to target the best players to get them out, but WHEN you do that is the difference between a savvy player and one who can't see the forest for the trees, IMO. Should they have focused on getting a guy like Russell out of the game? Hell YES. Should they have done so asap and and to the detriment of their tribe? Hell NO. Sticking with Rob during the initial tribal phase was the smart thing to do. Not ever making a move to get rid of his ass AFTER the tribal phase was not smart. Then you have the reverse...getting rid of Russell prior to the merge was asinine. But if he HAD made it, then you need to immediately target the guy, and I'm quite certain that would not have been all that difficult to do given his reputation. Survivor is two separate games, and you can't have the same strategy for both phases, IMO.
  12. Interesting. I can think of a few better names for it than "bottle episode", though lol. I have seen entire films where they shot it on only one set, and the results have been really impressive. My problem is more with the content. I spent thirty minutes watching Walt try to catch a fly.
  13. Wow, this show has been nearly PERFECT through all of season one, two, and the first half of three. And then this turd they called "Fly" showed up. I'm sure there is some metaphor that the elusive fly represented, or some other high brow crap that some fancy pants screen writer tried to pass off as art, but this episode was absolutely AWFUL. What were they thinking exactly?? The first 8 episodes of season three were absolutely AMAZING. I can forgive them this stinker, but I hope they don't pull this again. Loving the angle that Jesse happened to run into the big sister of the kid who put Combo on ice...you can tell something's about to go DOWN IN CHINA TOWN BABY!!! PS. Enough with Skyler already...this is the most wishy washy biatch ever created for the small screen. Every scene with her in it is a complete waste. Focus on the money players, dammit!
  14. I'm starting to think he's actually going to win, I just don't get it lol
  15. True, I enjoy the psychological part of the game, as well. The enjoyment of the show far outweighs the few issues I have with it, for sure. That's also why I enjoy big brother and survivor are the two most intense, psychologically demanding reality shows IMO, but for different reasons. Can't wait to get it started...I just hope they pick a good cast...we need more (Evel) Dick!
  16. He always says that...and that's what I can't stand most about this guy. In his world, it would always be the large market teams in the championships...there's really no point in having ANY small market franchises if he could have it his way. That's when it became clear to me that this guy is anything but a sports fan. His job is to talk about sports and make it as interesting as he can, but he's by no means a "fan".
  17. Graveyard Shift
  18. Congrats Drew!!!!!
  19. That doesn't help you at all prior to the merge, as Russell found out. Survivor was the first of "reality shows", and if you go back and watch Season one you'll see the focus of the game was much different. Back then people who had survival skills were valued and the weaker players were the ones who were systematically voted off. Today there is a much greater effort to target the strong players and get them out asap. Nobody really cares if you can fish, or start a fire, or put up a shelter, etc. So do I like the game of Survivor? Yes. Do I like the way the players PLAY the game? No, often times not.
  20. I hope he runs Nene into the GROUND over her quitting next week. I really thought she was going to win the whole thing and still can't believe she pulled such a biatch move like that Definitely agree about JR. He's going to be tough to beat, especially with Dee Snyder on board!
  21. ...which brings me to my OTHER criticism of the game, lol...I wish there were another way (or ways) for the stronger players to protect themselves. Just looking at this season, the final 5 players were not at ALL representative of the five strongest or most deserving players. It seems that most seasons it's the strongest players who are targeted early on and who end up getting sent to the jury. It just seems as though there should be more that an individual can to do earn protection. Oh well... The good news? Big Brother is back on July 7th!!!!!!
  22. Ah okay, I think a lot of people feel that way. That's partly why I don't like to work day shift. The is so much to do that it's often very hard to get people out in a timely manner. The doc writes the d/c order, the patient knows they're going home, but it's up to the RN to get everything in order, pull the IV, review the instructions, etc. In addition to that, they have the morning med pass, they have to get patients to their tests, pre-medicate for PT, etc, etc. It's really a lot of stress on their shoulders. But yeah, I know that when you're ready to go, you're ready to GO lol. Don't blame you one bit!
