  1. I never really watched the tv show, but the movies have been three of the biggest laugh fests of my life. I saw jackass 3D in the theater, and it was a 90 min stretch of feeling like I was going to vomit and shart myself, while at the same time laughing hysterically. Pretty surreal experience...and quite a challenge. RIP, Senor Dunn.
  2. Well, Falling Skies was good enough that I will keep watching. I won't talk about it too much in case you guys haven't watched it yet, but I'd give it about a B in terms of an overall grade. I don't know about you guys, but I've had an asssful of Hyundai and strawberry pop tart commercials
  3. Im pretty good at living vicariously, though
  4. So on that Dempsey play there wasnt a penalty? That was a live ball? lol WTF?
  5. I was surprised that more people didn't like it...glad to know there are a few of us out there who were affected by it though...I thought it was really well done
  6. Whenever I see one of your threads talking about Philly, it's like I get butterflies in my stomach remembering just how much I loved it there. I can't even tell you how close I've been to moving back....just seems like something always keeps me here in ATL just a bit longer. People think I'm nuts when I tell them that one of the things I miss most is SEPTA lol...I really think people take it for granted, cause for me it's like having a passport to quite literally ANYWHERE I wanted or needed to go. I miss late nights of WIP radio when I was working corporate security...walking around campus at Temple U...grabbing a beer and a sandwich at a local pub...comcast sports net...the diversity...the weather (I love having a balanced four seasons)...I could go on and on. If I ever move back, we need to hit a game...the beer's on me!
  7. Fathers Day should be named after this guy...I think he's earned it.
  8. There are so many great pubs in south philly it's ridiculous. I didn't have the opportunity to spend as much time at them as I would have liked since I was in school FT and working fT, but the passion and culture in that part of the city is amazing.
  9. I really hope it's good, man...I know we've both mentioned our displeasure with the 'V' remake...and The Event was a huge turd...I really hope Spielberg's influence makes this worthy of watching future episodes. That's too bad if V got better, cause I was long gone by then. And that's saying a LOT, cause I typically geek out to alien stuff as much or more than anyone. I'm ready for a fresh start, so looking forward to tonight. Not sure if Noah Wylie is a capable lead, but we'll see!
  10. Well, the problem with that is, I'm pushing 40 and don't think I'll ever be married again lol I've never heard of that movie...I thought Pauly Shore was dead To Dayman and Bud
  11. I'm pushing 40 and probably won't end up having children of my own, so I thought I'd take a minute to give a shout out to all the non-fathers on this fathers day
  12. Anyone else goign to be watching tonight? I'll have the projector fired up for this one
  13. Wow, this is some uninspired ball we're playing today... And I just saw the DUMBEST play in the history of US futbal....if any of you guys have access to the match, watch around the 78' mark, just prior to the Dempsey goal. Donovan and Edu (I think it was Edu...) had a two on one with the goalie, and instead of ONE of them just taking the FUGGIN SHOT, they fart around with it, the goalie moves forward, and when they pass it yet AGAIN they get called for offsides At least Dempsey showed up today...unreal. I don't even know why the Jamaicans showed up today...it's like the US vs the zombies from The Walking Dead out there.
  14. That's awesome, Pooj...happy father's day, my philly brotha!!
  15. "They were trying to re-route their path and found this boat launch near the entrance to I-90 in South Bellevue and just kept driving into the water," Keenan said.
  16. The more I hear about this film, the more I can't wait to see it. I had never even heard of the book, but Colin Cowherd was discussing it on the air during my drive into work today. I've always had a fascination with scouting, drafting, team building, etc, and the background he was giving during the show really piqued my interest. I also love films based on true events, so this will be one I see in the theater for sure
  17. I love sports flicks...looks like a good one!
  18. I was hoping he would have signed with an SEC team...
  19. lol, true true...if only I could just close a browser whenever I didn't feel like talking to someone in real life!
  20. Yeah, it clearly depends on the type of work. In my job, I'm on a team but I'm also loosely in competition with every other RN who works at the Atlanta site. All 200 of us are ranked at the end of the year in terms of our performance metrics, and raises and bonuses are calculated accordingly. I really don't depend on anyone else but myself and my supervisor. Last year (my first at this company) I earned a small $300 performance bonus, but the top people can earn up to about $5k, in addition to a merit raise AND their cost of living raise. So I'm better off not having anyone here to distract me lol.
  21. Yep! Got approved yesterday before CoB, so today was first day I'll be at home every Wed and Sat from this point forward, and then in the office on Tues, THurs, and Fri. I'm on the phone too, but mostly talk with retirees from the state of GA...they can't seem to be able to hear the music I would suck at a job where I had to fly. Most people I know love it, but I've never been a fan. I'm typically not a control freak, but apparently I had a traumatic experience when I was on an airplane as a kid. My parents said that the first time I flew (we were headed to disneyworld), the pilot came out of the cockpit to say hello to everyone and I freaked because he was so old lol. Apparently I had some issues with an older guy's ability to fly a plane when I was like 6...I dunno lol. Seriously, I have sinus problems and I've come close to blowing out a frontal sinus because of the pressure changes during the course of the flight. It's very painful. (And I also like being in control lol)
