  1. John, you've gone too far on this one. Peterman would've "gotten debacled" in Jacksonville, as Emmitt Smith would say.
  2. I guess the Rams want to preserve their 2017 offense for 2018 and they can probably afford this next year because Goff is on his rookie deal - but they have to pay Donald, and eventually will have to pay Gurley. This kicks the can down the road by one year for them, but then they have decisions to make in 2019. For Watkins, it essentially means another one year "prove it" situation, with a decent chance he's playing elsewhere in 2019.
  3. I thought this was fascinating, not because it's about Tyrod (we have a zillion threads about that) but because it's rare for the GM/CEO of one team to be commenting about the personnel of another team. It also suggests that Tyrod might have a hard time finding a starting gig if the Bills cut ties. http://www.packersnews.com/story/sports/nfl/packers/2018/01/09/fourth-candidate-confirmed-packers-gm-search/1018451001/ “Doug Whaley really did a job with the interview,” Murphy said. “I think it was not confirmed, but he was the fourth interview. I knew him a little bit, so I enjoyed having a chance to spend some time with him. I'm a Bills fan, so I follow the Bills a little more closely than some of the other teams. “But he put together that roster, and it's a playoff team without a great quarterback. It made the playoffs. They have a good roster."
  4. Not a bad outcome for him if true. Bradford has banked over $100M I believe.
  5. So this further suggests that the Bills could've gotten a higher return if they had exercised the option - because the Rams would be getting Watkins under control for an additional year and saving $3M.
  6. Interesting about that play in particular - looking at it again in those clips, Ty seemed to think O'Leary was going to run a wider route down the seam, but O'Leary ran more of a post and that's why the throw was so far off. I assume the error is Tyrod's because your best chance of success is to lead O'Leary back toward the middle of the field, but it's far from certain whose fault that was.
  7. Is the tag number higher than the fifth year option would’ve been, does anyone know?
  8. Great stuff. Mills was garbage in this game and shouldn’t be a starter in the NFL. Benjamin is either very injured or incredibly disinterested. These receivers and tight ends get zero separation and it was negligent of Beane to let the roster look like this.
  9. Maybe we can package 3 of the new Luck threads in a trade for BADOL's original Luck thread?
  10. Bruce got held way more often. Bruce was unstoppable, he'd destroy double teams with ease. Many offensive coordinators decided just to tackle him and risk the flag.
  11. He can thank Wentz for that.
  12. Great read: https://www.si.com/nfl/2018/01/09/nfl-playoffs-pocket-passing-brees-ryan-roethlisberger-brady-keenum (He also throws one of his friends under the bus at the end of the article. Savage!)
  13. He'll probably be part of the rotation that replaces Jerry.
  14. I bet Dallas would love Hughes, and he went to college there.
  15. You're killing it. Peterman should be (and ultimately will be) released.
  16. I suspect he was satisfied with how well the D was QB'd from the Mike spot. It doesn't completely make up for Brown's limited athleticism but it helps.
  17. Hard to call him a home run when he's been fired from two jobs in a row due to unimaginative, failed offenses. He couldn't win with Rivers. His playbook is complex and he doesn't get the most out of his personnel, especially in the running game. Bevell would be a home run. They'd both be upgrades over Dennison... Dennison was an uninspired, poorly thought-out hire.
  18. You're the one who should be banned, you reply to every post on this board as if it's a personal text exchange.
  19. IMO the bigger score here would be Tice...
  20. The Seahawks led the league in rushing in 2014 and Wilson led the league in TD passes in 2017. Bevell has done a fantastic job with street free agents for an offensive line. He’d do wonders here.
  21. He did just fine with Brett Favre. He can work with any type of QB. His issue has been designing the running game... Bevell would be a GREAT hire IMO.
