  1. The real question is which QB Beane was willing to pay 3 firsts for - would it have been Allen or Darnold?
  2. But this is also what bugs me about the pick. It will likely take years to try to develop the guy and the debate will rage within the fanbase and locker room about whether he has “it” or not - with one camp insisting he has he tools and blaming the coaches for not developing him, and another constituency convinced he’ll never be successful. Talented QBs who lack a feel for the game suck years out of a franchise and kill coaches’ careers. I just don’t think this was a risk worth taking with Rosen sitting there. Then again, Rosen is the type who would go straight to the owner (or media) with his gripes about the pop gun offense that McDermott seems to favor, so I get why he wasn’t the choice... Ugh.
  3. You know, I’m starting to wonder. I was convinced he was the guy for us at 7 and I’ve been pissed about it since. And I tend to agree with the notion that these supposed character concerns are made-up and overblown around draft season, and Highsmith’s knife-twist seems unprofessional and unfair. But yet... I’m starting to wonder. Something about these stories is starting to stick with me. I suspect there is more that Highsmith didn’t say. It does seem like Rosen just isn’t very well-liked, regardless of what his left tackle has to say about it... There is something there, I think.
  4. Let us know when it's ok to express our opinions.
  5. IIRC Chan cut Edwards when he ran out of bounds on 4th down (last play of the game) instead of taking a shot downfield.
  6. They don't have any elite players on that D (except maybe Tre), and they lack speed and depth at linebacker - they need Edmunds to develop quickly. But they're solid across the board and should be very difficult to run on next year.
  7. My money's on the Saints - they loved Mayfield and traded away their 2019 #1 during the draft.
  8. It's worth very little. The most concerning aspect of the 5-int game was that on a number of those throws (and I believe a 6th int was dropped), he just heaved it up for grabs because he lacked the arm strength to make a precision pass. He'll be out of the league in a year or two.
  9. Loading up on slot receivers is strange to me - Allen's weakness is that he lacks touch on short crossing routes - that will need to be corrected ASAP.
  10. Interesting. Next year's #1 will be a passrusher or WR.
  11. If they’d taken the other (right) Josh and all of their other picks were the same, this would go down as a legendary draft. What I keep coming back to is the risk factor - I understand why this regime wanted Allen, but I continue to feel like they missed an opportunity to stabilize the QB position.
  12. Seems like a high floor pick - at the very least he’ll be a solid backup for a long time.
  13. Wondering why Baltimore didn’t stay put to take him.
  14. Then I strongly recommend not sharing the car ride home with him.
  15. This regime doesn’t care about offense. 11 Tolberts on that side of the ball.
  16. Not a good look for the league to bring him to the draft to sit there for three days...
  17. Do they even plan to field an offense?
