  1. The Texans aren’t scared at all.
  2. Lorax is the weak link - I might play Neal instead - we need one more athletic linebacker to really match up with them.
  3. Meanwhile in New Jersey...
  4. It’s called Stockholm Syndrome and 90% of this message board has it. I think they want J Johnson to take over for Poyer next season.
  5. It’s subconscious bias not intentional bias. I think.
  6. Saw the same thing and had a similar reaction. Plus the hurrying to the line to keep the defense on its heels - 12 is his hero and his game is becoming similarly cerebral.
  7. Virgil stepped up his game just like Josh did yesterday. Good stuff. As for the game: we had the better QB. It’s that simple to me. I’ll say it again: there has been no game this year where I thought the other team’s quarterback was materially better than ours.
  8. Couldn’t have said it any better.
  9. Need to match their intensity right out of the gate. Let’s see if this team is ready for prime time - I have no idea which Bills squad shows up. None. We are in uncharted territory as far as the last two decades go...
  10. You mean this savage take right here? Two years ago, I nicknamed Garrett “The Clapper” because it was apparent to me that all he does is clap. His impact on the team is non-existent; in a sense, he does not impact the offense, defense, or the kicking game. The television cameras are always showing him, yet he never looks at the Microsoft Surface to examine what happened in the game; we never really see him looking at the play clips, huddling with the players during a break in the action, or scanning a call sheet, and we never even really see him needing to cover his mouth because he rarely speaks. The television people don’t have to look for him as he is always in the same spot. Also, I don’t think I’ve ever heard any player say, “Garrett made me better, he showed me how to play the game.” Nor do I notice any variances in his schemes from game to game, which would demonstrate Garrett’s involvement. The Cowboys are the same each week, they rely on talent to win, they rely on players to play well. But they don’t do the little things to help make a player better. A recent example is how they didn’t help wide receiver Amari Cooper get away from Patriots corner Stephon Gilmore on Sunday. Garrett had to know that Belichick’s number one objective each week is to take away his opponent’s number one receiver. He was not going to allow Cooper to have a big day. If receiver Randall Cobb or tight end Jason Witten played well and caused the Patriots to lose, then Belichick would accept the consequences. But if Cooper had a big day and was the reason why the Patriots lost, Belichick would not be able to live with himself. Garrett has to know this! I mean, come on … even if he didn’t read my book Gridiron Genius — which details how Belichick draws up his game plan every week — Garrett had to know Belichick’s gameplan. It’s common knowledge. So if Garrett knew beforehand, why didn’t he find creative ways to allow Cooper to escape Gilmore? Why didn’t he do something to help his receiver? Do you think the Patriots or 49ers would let the opponent take away the best player without knowing the adjustments beforehand? And why did quarterback Dak Prescott have to put on a glove in the second quarter because of the steady rain affecting the footballs? Do you think the Cowboys practiced with frozen footballs drenched in water? Of course not … but the Patriots did. The answers to both questions are Garrett never prepares for the situation; he only can react.
  11. This is the Zay Jones of threads.
  12. Only if he also throws for 300 yards in that Super Bowl, otherwise it doesn't really count.
  13. Per Joe B: He wasn’t without his faults, as Allen committed his first interception since Week 5 — though the encouraging part is that there was a great deal of thought behind the interception. “The coverage that I thought they were in was quarters, and their safety was committing to the run. That’s our cue to kind of put it over the top, and my eyes were on (the safety) and I didn’t see the backside safety moving post high,” Allen said. “They disguised it well, they made a play. Obviously it’s one that I want back, but it’s one that I’d probably do again.” The interception isn’t the desired result, but that line of thinking shows the inherent progress Allen is making in diagnosing defenses — needing Denver to disguise it to make the error. It’s a negative and a positive play all at once because he’s thinking through the play at an advanced level, which will teach the quarterback to look for those coverages moving forward. Allen did have another turnover-worthy throw that he got away with but protected the ball otherwise. He continues to shows signs of improvement, even through errors, to help the Bills come away with a victory.
  14. They disguised the coverages, it’s in Joe B’s article in The Athletic. Backside safety shifted over to the post at the last second and Allen didn’t see him.
  15. Lawson’s first sack looked like a nature video. He straight up stalked Brandon Allen like a tiger stalking a gazelle or whatever tigers eat. Good to see Shaq finally taking more ownership over his career. I’d like to see him re-upped because I don’t think he’s hit his ceiling yet - would also like to see his conditioning improve a bit. You don’t see many edge rushers with straight up beer guts. Spend less time at his alma mater and more time in the gym. But he’s a high-energy player and his best attribute might be his wingspan - dude tips a lot of passes and when he doesn’t get a hand on them, he screws up the passing lanes, an underrated impact.
  16. Is anybody still worried about Ed Oliver? He beat up on Risner today, a pretty good guard.
  17. Has there been a single game this year where the other team’s QB looked materially better than Josh?
  18. Poyer too Milano had the best game by a linebacker I’ve seen in years. Seriously.
  19. Worst two minute drill in the history of the league?
  20. I think he’s clear - but he has aged significantly. He’s struggling.
