  1. I always thought in the NFL it was from the first month to the second.
  2. It’s all about how they adjust this week. Coaching is about preparation and adjustment. Let’s see how they respond to Sunday’s gut check. Remember, the first quarter of the season is about figuring out what kind of team you’ve got.
  3. Gruden amazes me. Only in America do you get richer and richer just by being famous.
  4. Far more interesting than Dan Deirdorf yelling “When you talk about a guy!” over and over again.
  5. Loving the Manning feed on The Deuce.
  6. Try telling my wife to calm down, tough guy. Go ahead. I dare you. Say it to her.
  7. Completely agree. If ever there were a situation NOT to be aggressive it’s that one. Total lack of game flow awareness. Daboll is a likable guy but I pity the owner who hires him to be head coach. Inexcusably reckless. Martzian, even.
  8. ESPN did a nice feature last year about Russell Wilson learning to throw the “moon ball” - it’s all about technique, if you put enough air under it the WR can adjust his positioning to make the catch. Don’t understand why this is so hard for Josh to do given the strides he’s made on his other mechanics.
  9. As I said in the game day thread, amazingly, it’s possible this roster is a Wyatt Teller away from being elite…
  10. Pissed me off that Brieda couldn't power for that extra yard on the previous play.
  11. We are in Year Four of this and he still cannot hit a college fly route to a wide open receiver. It's extremely frustrating.
  12. The Steelers' receivers made contested catches. Their offense plays with an attitude like few offenses do. (Not sure ours does.) Also, as I've said elsewhere, the irony is that both offenses came into the game facing similar problems: weak offensive lines against strong fronts (and in the Steelers' case, crowd noise). The Steelers schemed well enough for it, the Bills did not. The Steelers used quick sideways WR screens to evade the Bills' front 7 and take advantage of their over-aggressiveness; they also kept backs and TEs in to help block. The Bills went five wide and trusted their WRs to beat their matchups and Allen to make quick throws (something he gets too jacked up and impatient to do at times). Daboll got completely out-schemed by a rookie OC.
  13. Josh’s PC came as close as he’ll ever come to throwing others under the bus. Said he was “maybe feeling things around my feet” (o-line). Asked about that 4th and 1 call and he said something like, “the coaches call the plays.” Ouch. Didn’t shy from his own bad play but I was surprised to hear both things out of his mouth.
  14. It was a windy day against a physical team and they went finesse. End of story.
  15. That sucks. League is better when he’s playing.
  16. The Saints’ secondary is elite.
  17. Dion is clearly not in game shape. Speaking of which, where was Diggs’ extra gear today? Lots of guys still playing their way to peak.
  18. Lol McD sits Moss as a “coach’s decision” and his replacement fumbles twice. This should be interesting. Wonder if Motor gets to ride the pine next Sunday now.
  19. I will hate to hear during the week that Darryl Johnson usually manned that blocking position on the punt team…
  20. There is literally already a thread dedicated to that one play.
  21. Agree. We’re in year four here and he’s got $258 million or whatever - stop throwing the ball out of the stadium on basic college fly patterns. Enough already Josh.
  22. Daboll called a halfback option pass to a rookie swing tackle on the critical play of the game. Will not miss him when he leaves.
  23. Agree with all of this except the pass rush, I thought it was way better.
  24. Yes, that Seattle game, but IIRC it was a much tighter formation there. This looked to me like an option pass.
