Do we sit Willis?
BillsFanForever19 replied to Pine Barrens Mafia's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No. But if he can't get it going we should turn it over to A-Train. -
Gutsy, but wrong call
BillsFanForever19 replied to SactoBillFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hind-sight is always 20/20 If we kicked the field goal, they still would get the lead with 2 TD's. We were on a roll and we could have basically put the game away with another TD. We only needed a couple feet. Basically, there was no better time to go for it on 4th Down. It was a make or break play and unfortunately it didn't work out. -
Call me a newb, but I have a hard time buying that. Kyle Williams and John McCargo weigh the exact same. Williams is even an inch shorter. So to say that Williams is the bigger, nose tackle type doesn't work. I don't understand why we'd delegate someone who we traded up in the first round for as Larry Tripplett's backup while someone we picked almost 100 picks later is starting. It should be the other way around. Call me crazy.

What book is McGahee going to bring
BillsFanForever19 replied to generaLee83's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
"Dr. Baby Mama Drama or how I learned to love the skank" by Willis McGahee That's right, he reads a book he wrote himself -
Yeah, it was mentioned on WGR550 that Matt Bowen is listed as questionable and that if he doesn't play, Coy Wire will start in his place. I love that our two HEAVILY scrutinized first rounders (and in Whitner's case, top 10 pick) were justified by McCargo not being able to beat out someone we drafted in the 5th round and Whitner not being able to beat out Matt Bowen or Coy freakin' Wire!

Holcomb wins the #2 Qb spot!
BillsFanForever19 replied to Oneonta Buffalo Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nice! I love paying upwards of a million dollars in bonuses alone for someone who won't sniff the field -
With the lack of a FB behind Daimon Shelton (in previous years we've has as many as 3 FB's on the roster), I was looking over released RB's. The one that really caught my eye was Ron Dayne. I'm unaware of whether or not he's ever been tryed out at FB. But I was surprised he was cut. He REALLY came on great as a bruising RB for the Broncos last year. He was damn impressive near the end of the season. Then again, Denver does have luck with any RB. And yes, I know, I know; "I've heard of 'em!"

I honestly thought Gibson was going to make it. He seemed like a good reserve. It's a shame. Martin Nance was never really given a fair shake. Which really stinks because he looked real good a few times in camp. I figured he'd make the squad and I hope he still does. Everyone else is no big surprise.

Aaron Gibson - how is he doing?
BillsFanForever19 replied to port allegany's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Dude, I rarely say this to people....... but you're on crack! Jason Peters was in my eyes, the best (and most consistent) lineman we had last year. The man is freakishly athletic. I think you're focusing way too hard on the fact that he's a converted TE. So what?! He was a 300 lb. TE with an emphasis on blocking. Antonio Gates was a basketball player who never played a down of college football. Would you have a problem with Antonio Gates because he's a converted basketball player too? As for your thought that Jauron brought in Gibson to beat out Peters, you couldn't be more wrong. From Day 1 of camp, they were lining him up at Guard. Last season the Bills tried to lock-up Peters long-term but he wouldn't do it because he knew if he waited he'd get a big time deal. He signed a long-term deal this year for an undisclosed amount. But he did sign which means 1.) It was the money he was looking for and 2.) the Bills want him long-term. If you watched the preseason game against the Panthers a couple weeks ago; Peters was dominating Peppers. Being upset at a lineman because they had a bad game against Julius Peppers is like calling Richmond Webb a bad lineman because he had trouble with Bruce Smith. I dare you to make a post stating that Jason Peters is nothing special. I'd be surprised if you had anyone on your side. Now as for Aaron Gibson, the guy was brought in for dirt-cheap on the low for some depth. In camp he proved that he is very valuable as a backup and was downright dominant. I think from Day 1 they had their line set as Gandy/Reyes/Fowler/Villarial/Peters and they were looking at Gibson as a reserve. I think he's earned the spot and I doubt that he'll be cut. -
Calling all Holcomb BASHERS...
BillsFanForever19 replied to CoachChuckDickerson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hind-sight is always 20/20. But the Kelly Holcomb we got wasn't the same Kelly Holcomb from Cleveland. We thought we were getting a guy who was a starting QB. A guy that posted 26 of 43 for 429 yards (?!) and 3 TD's in a wild-card game vs. the Steelers in 2002. A gun-slinger. What we got was some sort of freakish, broken down backup who can't throw a ball over 10 yards. -
Wanted: A Consistent Starting Quarterback
BillsFanForever19 replied to rockpile's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He wasn't. I was actually going to make a post about how well he looked. He threw a pick, but it was tipped from the recievers hand and bounced into London Fletcher's. Not to mention, pick's (unless there's a lot of them) in camp aren't that big of a deal. Most camp situations are no comparisons to the real deal. He threw some real beauties tonight and compared to the others..... well; there was no comparison. -
Wanted: A Consistent Starting Quarterback
BillsFanForever19 replied to rockpile's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You and I must have been at different practices altogether tonight. While Losman wasn't perfect, he DEFINITELY looked good a lot more than he looked bad. A lot of his throws were beautiful in my eyes. He looked worlds ahead of Holcomb and Nall also. -
Courtney Watson pressuring the QB. ....... maybe Tim Euhus WAS good for something
-
Ouch! Well..... let's see how well he bounces back from that now.
-
That drive really showed me something. He didn't get down on himself or get nervous after the pick. He just picked himself up, went to his go to guy, and got it back. That might have just "nailed it home" right there.

Who's Getting Cut?
BillsFanForever19 replied to BuffaloBilliever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We always carry at least 2 FB's. Last year we had Daimon Shelton and Joe Burns, not to mention Jon Goldsberry whom we had on the Practice Squad and activated (I believe). -
Who's Getting Cut?
BillsFanForever19 replied to BuffaloBilliever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
While we're at it, here's my guess at the final active roster VERY EARLY into training camp: QB: J.P. Losman Craig Nall Kelly Holcomb RB: Willis McGahee Anthony Thomas Lionel Gates - Alan Ricard Daimon Shelton WR: Lee Evans Peerless Price Roscoe Parrish Josh Reed Martin Nance Sam Aiken TE: Robert Royal Kevin Everett Brad Cielsak OL: Mike Gandy Tutan Reyes Melvin Fowler Chris Villarial Jason Peters - Aaron Gibson (OG) Duke Preston (C/OG) Greg Jerman (OT) Brad Butler (OT) DE: Aaron Schobel Chris Kelsay Ryan Denney Mark Word DT: Larry Tripplett John McCargo Tim Anderson Kyle Williams LB: Takeo Spikes London Fletcher Angelo Crowell Courtney Watson Mario Haggan Josh Stamer CB: Nate Clements Terrence McGee Ashton Youboty Jabari Greer Eric King S: Donte Whitner Troy Vincent Ko Simpson Matt Bowen Rashad Baker ST: Mike Schneck Brian Moorman Rian Lindell -
Who's Getting Cut?

Is he eligible for the Practice Squad? He's not making the team otherwise. They're not even giving him a chance for more reps now with Nall down. -
Who's Getting Cut?
BillsFanForever19 replied to BuffaloBilliever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've got a problem with quite a few of your cuts: QB: No point in putting Ochs on the squad. He's injured last I checked and what has he shown to deserve it? We have Losman, Holcomb, and Nall, we're plenty deep. If 2 of them go down (god forbid), we'd jump on the waiver wire for a back-up. RB: I don't think Lionel will go to the Practice Squad. Even if he does, you think the Bills will keep McGahee, A-Train, Shaud Williams, Lionel Gates AND Joe Burns on the roster? Don't you think that's a little overkill? Joe Burns and Shaud Williams will get cut. Willis/A-Train/Lionel will be the RB's on our roster. WR: I think we'll keep 6 WR's: Lee Evans, Peerless Price, Roscoe Parrish, Josh Reed, Sam Aiken (ST Captain), and Martin Nance. Andre' Davis however, will not make the squad. There's no point in keeping him around to be at best our 5th WR. LB: How many PS spots do you think we have?! There's regulations on who can be on it also and I highly doubt that Courtney Watson or Mario Haggan are eligible. However, I agree Ellison will go on the squad. The LB core on the active roster will be: Takeo Spikes, London Fletcher, Angelo Crowell, Courtney Watson, Mario Haggan, and Josh Stamer. Bye bye Jeff Posey. Safety: I think we'll keep 5 Safeties this year (just like we did last year). It'll be just like you said with Donte Whitner, Troy Vincent, Ko Simpson, and Matt Bowen. But I think Rashad Baker stays. -
Hard to imagine Willis and Kelly Holcomb exchanging "Baby Momma Drama" stories

I haven't been able to make it out to camp yet. But there's a big question mark at Left Guard. We signed Tutan Reyes to replace Bennie Anderson and they've been talking about Duke Preston at G (although I think they should just keep him training at C and let him compete with Melvin Fowler). But I just read recently that they're trying Aaron Gibson out at Guard. I was wondering if anyone who went to camp has kept an eye on him? He was a former 1st Round OT who had some success starting at RT for Dick Jauron. He's a sleeper that i'd keep my eye on vs. Tutan Reyes.
