  1. For the first time, Travis Henry faces off against Willis McGahee on opposite teams. It was practically two seasons ago when these two "teammates" were battling for supremecy in Buffalo. When Willis was drafted, Travis called it "a slap in the face". And who could forget before the 2004 season Travis saying that if he's not the starter he wants a trade just to have Willis come back and say the same thing. During that season, Willis upended Travis and had his best season as Bill. As a result, Travis was shown the door. With the Titans vs. Bills matchup, who has a bigger day? Travis Henry: Returns to the Ralph with a fire in his belly just like any player will when they feel that they were wronged. He has been bounced back from a disappointing 2005 season and has a little over 100 yards more than McGahee in about the same carries. He will be going up against the 27th ranked run defense in Buffalo. Willis McGahee: He always plays best when he's being challenged (I.E. Against former teammate John Vilma or being pushed by A-Train or Henry). People to this day second guess whether we made the right move or not. He'll probably be playing with a chip on his shoulder to prove he is the better back. Travis has stated that he is having a better season than Willis in Buffalo media and that "it is what it is". He will be going against the 29th ranked run defense in Tennessee. My support and my money is on Willis
  2. Yeah, but you're forgetting that it was Jaws. He's always had a raging boner for J.P. Going into the 2004 Draft, he had Losman rated higher than Eli, Rivers, and Roethlisberger. I thought he was crazy. Looking back, he might not have been wrong
  3. It wouldn't even cost half of that and yeah, I don't even really have money for that. Christmas has got me on a REAL tight budget.
  4. I live in Rochester, NY and really don't have the extra cash for a ticket to the game. But i'm still dying to see the game. I was wondering if anyone knew how far the blackout stretched? I'm thinking if it's not too far I could drive to a bar that has the Sunday Ticket where it isn't blacked out. Any help would be appreciated.
  5. He's definitely earned another year with his performance. But whether or not he's our new Jim Kelly is yet to be seen. Another good year and we can annoint him. The Bills should draft a QB no higher than Round 3 to cover themselves though.
  6. Re-Signs: Nate Clements (Asante Samuel or Ricky Manning Jr. if Nate signs elsewhere) Mike Gandy (is a MUCH better OG than OT) (or Eric Steinbech if we could get him) London Fletcher (is a MUST!!!) Andre' Davis Kiwaukee Thomas Rian Lindell Chris Kelsay UFA Acquisitions: Vonnie Holliday (we need an established veteran besides Tripplett) Daniel Graham (SF drafted Vernon Davis while having Johnson for a reason) We definitely need another WR. We have a definite #1 in Evans. But Reed, Price, and Parrish (at this point) are nothing more than #3's. Evans (1), Parrish (3), Davis (5), and Aiken (6) all need to stay (the latter two for ST's). Either Reed or Price need to be cut, with the survivor being our #4. We need a solid #2 WR. A big, strong, possession type. While everyone seems to want Drew Bennett, i'd prefer the money go elsewhere and us draft Dwayne Jarrett in Round 1.
  7. Yes, it's what we're doing right now actually (and have been doing for years). Generally, your 5th and 6th WR's are designated as ST's contributers. They don't usually sniff the field. They're still WR's who can play if given the opportunity. But Price and Reed don't play ST's. So does it make sense to have them at 5 or 6 given those circumstances? No.
  8. I was skimming through the Rochester D&C this morning and noticed a bit in one of the columns citing an article from a San Francisco newspaper (sorry, no link) that said Buffalo will have the 2nd most room under the cap in the NFL! (The number was 39.6 or 39.7 and was 2nd only to SF's 42.1). Not only that, but the cap is supposed to increase by around $7 million next year. So maybe we will be able to keep Nate, London, and sign a big FA or two after all.
  9. My only question is who goes? Evans and Parrish aren't going anywhere. Andre' Davis has proven to be one HELL of a Special Teamer and we all know of Aiken's ST's contributions. You have to assume that we'll only keep 6 WR's on the roster and that's 4 right there. I agree, Josh Reed and Peerless Price are good #3's. But neither one is a viable option to take pressure off of Lee. Whether that means we sign a guy like Drew Bennett or draft a guy like Dwayne Jarrett remains to be seen. But if we do that, then we'll only have one roster spot left for Price or Reed. Both WR's were signed to 4-yr, $10 million contracts (which I thought was pretty dumb). That's a lot of money and contract to eat on one of those guys.
  10. The only combination I have a problem with is the white jerseys with the white pants. All the other combinations are cool with me. In order of preference though: 1.) Throwbacks 2.) Blue Jerseys and Blue Pants 3.) White Jerseys and Blue Pants 4.) Blue Jerseys and White Pants
  11. Oh yeah, he sure seemed that way against the Texans and Jags I do however have a problem with how long it takes for him to get things going in the beginning of the game. But he certainly doesn't lose it for us in the end. Comparing him to Plummer this soon is unfair.
  12. How do you explain the losses to the Jets at home and Lions on the road? Listen, I hope we do win. But to say that we're going to win every game is pushing it.
  13. I agree. But it's Calvin Johnson and Dwayne Jarrett
  14. I rank Jake Long as the 2nd best Offensive Lineman available in the draft behind Joe Thomas. I think Long is world's better than Sam Baker. If he's there he should definitely be heavily considered. Although with the way the offensive line has been playing since "the switch", I don't know that it's still our biggest need. The Left and Center are solid. The Right side could use some experience in my opinion. I don't want to disrupt the chemistry and foundation that's being built there. I'd like to see us get a big name veteran in FA and call it a day. There's been so many "can't miss" OL drafted into busts over the years (I.E. Mike Williams, Leonard Davis, and Robert Gallery). I'd venture to say they're the riskiest position to invest a high pick in. But we'll see.
  15. Actually, if you've been watching the past few games you'd notice that the O-Line is playing MUCH better. The left side with Peters, Gandy, and Fowler at Center is solid. Gandy was a terrible LT, but he's a good LG. Preston is an okay RG (much better than Villarial) and Pennington gets better with every game. Perhaps a move on the right side will happen but any other move should be for depth. Right now the problem isn't the O-Line, it's the lack of talent at the skills position. Willis has been inconsistent and injury prone all season and A-Train is nothing more than a 3rd down back. Lee Evans is a beast, but when you double him up Peerless Price can't take the pressure off. He makes a play here and there, but for the most part he can't get open. Losman's been having all the time in the world. But it doesn't matter because our WR's and TE's are useless.
  16. So lemme get this straight: - We'd have to win out including on the road against Baltimore and New York. - The Jags. Chiefs, Broncos, AND either Cincinnati or the Jets would have to lose half of the games for the rest of the year. I can see it. Really I can
  17. http://www.nfldraftcountdown.com/sub/mockdraft.html Ouch! That's pretty much the top Mock site on the web and the place I go to all the time. With Dwayne Jarrett, Marshawn Lynch, Paul Poluszny, and others still on the board; they have us taking...... JaMarcus Russell, QB LSU
  18. http://www.buffalobills.com/news/news.jsp?news_id=4465 ^ That's a really good read. A lot of that stuff I already noticed though. The guy is SO passionate it's ridiculous! He is constantly going wild and pumping the fans and his team up. It's absolutely refreshing and something I think this team was desperately missing. While he's new and may not be making a lot of tackles or sacks, it seems as if he's been bringing leadership, direction, and passion to fans and teammates. He also seems to be getting better every weekend. I'd give up a 5th any day to have this guy. I'm glad he's a Bill.
  19. Sadly, no. But if he does go CB it had better be Leon Hall. I don't want him to reach for some guy whose a lower grade talent because he likes his character or how he watches film. I'm leaning towards offensive firepower myself. The past few games the defense and offensive lines have looked phenomenal. But nothings getting done on offense. But I could definitely see Paul Poluszny in Bills blue and you wouldn't hear me complaining one bit!
  20. lol I hear ya on the Texas thing. But honestly, I don't know if going OL is the way to go with our 1st pick anymore. The past few games the OL has REALLY come on well (and against very good D-Lines). J.P. has been getting a LOT of time to pass. I don't know if we should blow up the line. They seem to be getting some chemistry. I think our problem is lack of firepower. Outside of Lee Evans (who is blanketed every game) we really don't have much. Price makes an occasional play and Parrish isn't an every down WR. McGahee is't consistent and next year's the last year on his contract. Don't be shocked to see a RB or WR. Especially with elite talents like Dwayne Jarrett and Marshawn Lynch most likely available when we pick.
  21. This is going to be a helluva draft. I like the prospects a lot more than 2006's superstar draft. There will definitely be some late risers (ala Jay Cutler). Both QB's on the bottom of my list are guys I project to be late risers. Most people write off Troy Smith as a top pick because of his height (around 5'11"). But I think after he wins the Heisman on Saturday and if he has a decent Championship game, he'll get the Vince Young treatment. JaMarcus Russell is unquestionably the top Jr. QB prospect (especially since Louisville QB Brian Brohm decided to stay in school). When scouts get a gander at his size and rocket arm, they'll start drooling around February and he'll fly up the charts. Although, I have to disagree with your signature. Levi Brown and Sam Baker are two guys I DEFINITELY don't want us to pick. I don't think Baker will come out. Especially if Long does. He was dreadful in the UCLA game and he has never really impressed me. Brown is another guy that is pretty overrated in my opinion. He's a RT prospect who is a hit or miss guy. If he doesn't work at RT, you're pretty much screwed. I like Justin Blalock better than both of those players. Blalock is a natural OG with the size and athleticism to be put anywhere on the line.
  22. Thanks for the heads up on Ronnie. CJ and Thomas are guaranteed to both be gone by the time we pick (save a trade up). Long should be there though. Yeah, other than the QB's that's probably the last guy on the list i'd want. But if we don't get Nate back and we can't get Asante Samuel or another viable veteran we may have to go secondary again. Especially with the unfortunate circumstances surrounding what happened with Ashton Youboty's rookie season. God knows what we have there. With the exception of the Ohio State game, Leon Hall has looked superb all year. He's unquestionably the top CB.
  23. I don't know how it's even a remote possibility you could have mistaken that as a pic of RJ.
