There isn't one of those that fit the bill. I think he's operating by what's "by the books". Which is stupid. Everyone knows that while it's technically not the "legal" tampering period, The Combine has always been the place where agents of FA's talk with teams and there's never any "tampering" claims filed over it because EVERYONE does it there.

Cole Beasley given permission to seek trade

Positive they approached him about that and that's what led to him seeking permission for a trade. -
Cole Beasley given permission to seek trade
BillsFanForever19 replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall
It's about the cap. We have little to no money, he would save a bunch by not being here, we have a lot of work to be done at other positions, he's no better than our 3rd option at WR on a team with a real good TE, and there's a lot of speedy WR's in the draft. -
Cole Beasley given permission to seek trade
BillsFanForever19 replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall
Well, the way I saw it - there was two options with Cole Beasley. 1.) He stays with a reduced cap figure through a pay cut or some kind of conversion to bonus (if possible) 2.) He's released I'd imagine they approached him about option 1 and that led to him asking for a trade. Under no circumstance were we going to keep him at that number with Diggs and Davis on our roster, our cap situation, and what we need to get done at other positions. Knowing this, I'd doubt a team will trade for him when they know he'll most likely be available for nothing. Long story short, Cole Beasley will not be a Bill next year. -

JC Jackson not happy with Pats approach to him as a FA

Day 3? If we don't sign someone in FA, I don't see us taking someone later than the 2nd round - very likely with our 1st Rounder. -
What would it take to get Chase Young?
BillsFanForever19 replied to Weatherman's topic in The Stadium Wall
It'd be easier to get almost anyone else at the position. You're talking a guy who's one of the top players at his position, has room to grow, hasn't got much tread on the tires at 22 years old, and still has two years on his Rookie deal (plus the 1 year option). He's not being moved unless it's part of a deal for a Superstar Franchise QB like Aaron Rodgers or Russell Wilson. -
It's been speculated by writers who are connecting dots, but there's been nothing beyond speculation. Depends what his thoughts are on Daniel Jones. I think bringing in Mitch when you're performing at the level of Jones right now sends a clear message he's on a short leash and Daboll thinks he needs a big time insurance policy in place. For me it's: Jameis Winston Teddy Bridgewater Marcus Mariota Jacoby Brissett Ryan Fitzpatrick
-
If a team doesn't sign Mitch to be a bridge gap or there isn't a team that wants him with a shaky QB at 1 - he'll be back. If there is and he's gone - it'll be either Jameis Winston, Jacoby Brissett, Teddy Bridgewater, Andy Dalton, Marcus Mariota, Ryan Fitzpatrick, or Tyrod Taylor. Off chance of Cam Newton if there's history with McBeane and they (for some unknown reason) think he could still be good in a pinch under them.

I'm okay with going Corner with our 1st pick. But it feels like all of our Drafts have been "focus on the defense" drafts. Feels like our Defense needs sure things filling roles at this point in time. I hope that the Defense sees a lot of work in the FA and Trade markets this offseason.

He's not returning to Washington. They franchised him two years in a row already and he wouldn't sign a long term deal with them either year. If he wouldn't do it over those two years, I don't see him doing it now. And the third year Franchise Tag is EXTREMELY expensive and prohibitive. He'll be signing elsewhere. Would love to have him, but it would cost a FORTUNE. And with the Line looking as good as it did with Ryan Bates, I'd use that kind of money elsewhere. Tender Bates, restructure Daryl Williams as he was signed as a Tackle and is now playing Guard, and add some top tier depth.

What needs to be done to get us here?
BillsFanForever19 replied to Awwufelloff's topic in The Stadium Wall
A lot of work is going to be done to the Receiving Core with Emmanuel Sanders and Isaiah McKenzie Free Agents, Emmanuel possibly retiring and Isaiah sounding gone. Cole most likely also being gone unless he does a complete restructure. Need another Tight End. Knox took a step forward but we have literally nothing else there. Same thing can be said about the RB position. Singletary stepped up at the end of the season. But we're nowhere with Zack Moss and Matt Breida's a FA, probably one and done. Need something else there. Rousseau showed promise, but he's not a Game Changer yet. Epenesa's JAG and Basham was a healthy scratch most of the season. All 3 will be here, but lacking a stud, and with Hughes, Addison, and Obada are all FA's - The Defensive End position needs another overhaul. With the lack of FA's at the position and having gone the drafting route taking 3 1st or 2nd rounders in the past two years, i'd be looking at who's available in the Trade market. Losing Tre White proved that having only one stud CB is not enough. Especially to compete against Mahomes and the Chiefs. Levi isn't that and he's a FA. Need to try and upgrade the CB position. Long story short, a lot more work needs to be done than people realize. It's going to be a very interesting offseason. One in which Beane has no choice but to be much more active than he was in 2021. -
🙄 OP over here doing his best Mr. Perfect impression.

Regardless of how anyone feels about the trade around here, the 25th pick in the 1st and 2nd Round + Greg Rousseau is not enough capital to acquire the 1st overall pick. Draft Value Chart has the #1 Pick at 3000 pts. The 25th pick is worth 720 pts. and the 57th pick is worth 330 pts. Greg Rousseau alone does not make up the remaining 1950 pts.

Is there an option for just "No"? I don't want him. He's old and beaten down and I think he only came back for Brady so he'll probably be retiring anyways. Knox had a good season. But he's still dropping the ball more than I'd like and I think we need more than just him at that position. I'd like to add one of the many TE's available. Sign me up for Knox along with Mike Gesicki, Robert Tonyan, Dalton Schulz, David Njoku, Evan Engram, Zach Ertz, or O.J. Howard.

He is making probably just as much, if not more, money being THE QB guru to the stars without the stress, the insane hours, or the travel. Also, he can teach a QB how to improve his fundamentals - but that doesn't mean he can game plan or play call. He's never coached a game of football in his life. He could be a position coach. But an NFL OC with zero prior experience? This is a 'no' every way you can look at it.

I think it's possible Sanders returns. Especially if he has a big game tomorrow or in possible future games (though I'm not counting my chickens before they hatch). Could definitely see him wanting to come back and not breaking the bank. Beasley isn't happening unless he takes a total restructure. They can save over 6 million in cap space releasing him. Could most likely bring back both McKenzie and Sanders (and maybe have a little left over) with that money

The Pats have some terrible free agent contracts
BillsFanForever19 replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think Hunter Henry and Jonnu Smith are very good TE's. Was kind of shocked they didn't do more this season, especially having a Rookie QB under center. Paying out the ass for Nelson Agholar and Kendrick Bourne... I didn't get it then and I don't get it now. How Belichick looked at the market of Free Agent WR's and decided those were the two to get and pay what they paid is mind boggling. -

He was Cleveland's punter from 2019 until a couple weeks ago, he has a cool nickname, and he's not Matt Haack.
