  1. I totally agree with you. I'm not convinced Cowher is that great of a coach. He had a structure that was second to none in Pitt, with a future HOF DC in LeBeau (remember what he did in 2004 for us, pretty awesome for one year), a great OC in Whisehut, great OL coach in Grimm. That was a terrific staff. Contrast that with Marty, who has worked in various scenarios with many different types of people on staff. I'd be far more excited by Marty than Cowher. Of course, Shanahan is the holy grail for me, but I'd be very happy if we played Marty-ball should Shanahan decide to go elsewhere.
  2. I'm going to wait until Chris Brown reports it. You know with Brown that the story will always be right. You may have to wait for it, but you can take the story to the bank.
  3. Damn. My "Eric Wood" AFL throwback arrived on Thursday. Godspeed in your recovery. I hope it goes well enough for you to play again. I have no other words.
  4. I'm not really buying it either, but I am cautiously optimistic that the man is 91 and really does want a SB trophy. He figures this may be the last coach he hires and wants to get it right. And Knox did work out for a few years. I have to say I get that all warm and fuzzy feeling when I think of Mike Shanahan evaluating and using our top 10 pick on a QB.
  5. Check these out...pretty f*cked up. http://www.chinahush.com/2009/10/21/amazin...ution-in-china/
  6. They make get some "anybody but the incumbent" votes, but please do not mistake that for true support for an idealogically bankrupt and non-existant agenda.
  7. jw Ignore him, someone pissed in his cornflakes this morning. The rest of us appreciate the heads up. Thanks.
  8. Baby steps, PTR. The organization is one step away from being the Detroit Lions. Lets get Shanahan in here to draft a QB with our top 10 pick. Shanahan knows more about QBs than any coach we have ever had and I trust him to make the right pick. Lets build a contender team with Shanahan. If he ultimately is not the guy to take us over the top, we'll find someone else. He would, however, restore respectability to the organization and provide some direction. Not to mention the guy is a fair counterpart scheming against Belicheat.
  9. I quote the esteemed TBD poster who originally came up with this... If killdrive is our next HC, I will burn my bills stuff (anything not-SB era related). I have never been more disgusted with an OC than I was with killdrive.
  10. I wonder since Shanahan is an offensive guy (who I would trust with a top 5 pick in a QB heavy draft), who would be the DC? Would we keep Fewell? The D has not been awful despite the atrocious run defense ranking. They have caved late in the 4th, but overall have kept the Bills in many games.
  11. He owns a career 6-3 mark against Belicheat and the Pats*. +1 Shanahan
  12. Not too shabby, I'd be on board with Marty-ball.
  13. Superbowl era or throwback, I'm fine with either. Just get rid of the current abortion-that-should-have-been.
  14. I like it. Get some real football guys in there.
  15. Agree completely. If Marty wanted it, I'd be thrilled if Ralph hired Marty.
  16. If we go the coordinator route, I really want to see him at least interviewed. He was 1 or 3 finalists for Pitts job, Whisenhut and Tomlin are currently doing great work. Maybe Grimm could be a great coach as well.
  17. Depends. Assume you attend 3-4 games a year live (either at RWS or a Bills away game , like at the Meadowlands), plus the MNF and Thursday. Lets say you go out to a bills backers bar twice a year. Now you are really only looking at 8 games per season...big difference there.
  18. Looks like the area around my office is about to beocme a zoo. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_guantanamo_us_trial
  19. This chart says more than anything. The dollar index vs. the S&P 500 from March through now.
  20. I don't know too much about Ryan Mallet, the QB we are projected to take in the 2nd round, but the guy is 6'7" and 240 with a cannon (per the scouting report). Thats the type of big guy we need behind a bad OL. Not an injury risk like Bradford.
  21. Problem is that the top 3 or 4 QBs may already be gone by the time we pick, which was the point of my posting of that mock. I don't want to reach for the 4th or 5th best QB, when I could get the #1 or 2 rated LT or DT. Then I take the QB or even a LB in Round 2.
  22. Now that Edwards is coming back, I think TE has to know that he is playing for his job next year. These next 8 games should be very revealing with Trent. I think we decide QB or LT based upon three factors: 1- How TE finishes the year 2- Where we pick and who is likely available (no reaches!) 3- If we think a decent QB is available in Round 2. Lots of QBs with decent ratings right now...Clausen, Locker, McCoy, Tebow, Bradford etc. How many teams go QB in the first 42 or so picks? Also, its no gurantee that we draft either. This mock has us picking 10th and taking DT McCoy. They also have 4 QBs going in the top 10 (along with 2 LT, Suh and Berry). They have us with Ryan Mallet in Round 2 at QB.
  23. Can't argue with the 1st LT off the board.
  24. I had to post it.... Lassie
  25. More from the BEST organization in sports... A little more infor on this... http://newyork.yankees.mlb.com/news/articl...sp&c_id=nyy http://www.nypost.com/p/sports/yankees/yan...muN0qDZsCjmDD2N I wonder if noted haters like Jeff Passan can even comprehend what the Yankees do and mean to people?
