  1. I think thats total yards from scrimmage. I think he's #4 on the rushing list.
  2. I'll eat the Crow as well. I didn't think he had it in him, but the last 2 weeks his kicking has been fantastic and clutch, in a Jeter-esque way. Go Rian!!
  3. I think the announcers said it best during the game...last year we had Phat Pat, who was replaced by Edwards, now both are gone. We are suffering from a lack of talent at that slot. We're not going to be able to correct that until the offseason. Too bad the Colts got Corey Simon.... That said, it wasn't too bad yesterday. Martin got 90 yards on 2 carries. The Bills were heavy in blitz mode to get to Vinny, which was absolutely the right D. So, Martin burned us a couple of times. It happens. There's a reason he's the 4th leading rusher in NFL history. The alternative would have been to curtail the blitzes & Vinny would have had more time. I don't think that would have been the right call. I'm actually quite encouraged by our run D overall, yesterday.
  4. So basically, what you are saying is if we all turned Schoop off, and told everyone else to do the same, then the show would change. I could live with that.
  5. So now the standard has been lowered to "As long as we're better than someone, anyone, TD's doing a good job."
  6. No question about it that there must be a trade-off. Maybe we can't sign Milloy or Vincent. Maybe we don't draft Evans or or Denney or Ron Edwards. I think we'd be better off. If TD set out to build a dominant OL from the start, we'd have a line that could keep the D fresh, control the clock, given Buffalo's weather it would be our best chance to succeed & give a young team of skill players a chance to grow. It would be the ultimate security blanket.
  7. I couldn't agree more, I was one of the guys screaming for Rivera or Wahle to be signed ASAP by the Bills. But again, TD decided to "get by."
  8. The humorous thing is that, about a year or so ago, we did a few threads where everyone listed their occupations, the cities where they lived, and to a point their salaries. The interesting part of those threads was that the internet message board user on TBD seemed to be an upper middle class, successful, white collar worker, originally from Buffalo, but who has since moved away chiefly due to career opportunities. The person takes a bit of time each day to follow the Bills and gradually became part of a community here at TBD. Essentially, what I'm saying is that the internet message boards user here on TBD can run circles around Mike Schoop with their eyes closed, in a professional sense, a financial sense and in a cognitive abilities sense. Sure, we have knee-jerk reactions and its not always pleasant, but all-in-all, Mike Schoop can't shine our shoes.
  9. But, and this is TD's fatal flaw, he has never made the OL a priority. If he did that in Year 1 or 2 of his era, we'd have a playoff team right now. Comparing what we have done, and yes looking at DB's stats with Dallas, I'm becoming more and more convinced that the problem with the Bills over the last few years has been, and always will be the OL. That must be fixed for this team to ever even consider playoffs. I don't really care if it means letting Moulds go, we MUST build an OL that can run a power rushing attack, keep our D fresh, and control the line of scrimmage. It all starts and ends with the OL.
  10. The article really summed up the Bills and what they could/could not with Bledsoe. Absolutely true, but if Drew is protected then look out. The guy can still gunsling. Dallas's starting OL.... LT Flozell Adams (2nd Rd pick Cowboys) 6'7", 343 LG Larry Allen (2nd Rd pick Cowboys) 6'3" 325 C Al Johnson (2nd Rd pick Cowboys) 6'5" 296 RG Marco Rivera (6th Rd pick Packers) 6'4" 310 RT Rob Petitti (6th Rd pick Cowboys) 6'5" 347 These guys are all homegrown except Rivera, all massive, huge blockers, that can protect Drew and give him the time he needs. Now, will he probably self destruct in a road playoff game, yeah, likely, but still...he's playing damn well right now and MAY get Dallas into the playoffs. Same with Mularkey's (with the short passes) and for that matter Killdrive (throw every down). If we had a decent OL, it just may have worked. But thats been the core of the problem with this team in the entire TD era. Just try to get by with the line and focus on the skill guys. I hope that changes this year, cause without that line being fixed, there will be no SB's for Buffalo...ever.
  11. This is from the article. You could re-write that statement like this... Once upon a time Gilbride was Buffalo's Offensive Coordinator of the present. But the coach didn't coach the offense as much as he battled it, and the results were disastrous. Not only did he sabotage the team; he cost his head coach his job.
  12. Happy B-Day...I'm right behind you in losing my 20s :-(
  13. Pepsi spit all over my monitor!! LMAO!!!
  14. Right & the team will have that money, and more to give to Nate. We're saying the same thing. My bad, I thought Posey was up this year. He's helping the D, but if you need the money for Nate, then release him. My bottom line is everything revolves around Nate.
  15. This is completely accurate. As a huge U fan, I watched every game WM had in college. Basically, he was just as patient waiting for the hole to open as he is now. Then he'd hit the hole and be gone for 10-15. Now, he doesn't have the same speed he did at the U, but it seems he's compensated by adding strength and bulk. So now when the hole opens, he'll hit it and go for 4-6 and try to power forward for another couple. Problem really is that the holes didn't really open much with this OL. I'd like to see us with a healthy CV and MW, we'd have some success there I think.
  16. 2nd vote for post of the day!! And, BTW, its legal in Nevada to pay for it. It should be pretty much everywhere. And to the guy asking about your daughter, if I raise my kid the right way, she'll be a doctor or something and won't have to be a hooker. There are jobs for everyone.
  17. More than that. After Teague and Posey come off, it'll be another few million for Nate.
  18. Hey, maybe he can eat up some space against the run. It says he was pretty good at clogging up running lanes. With the rest of our D overpursuing, and allowing huge cutback lanes, maybe this guy can help shore things up. Give him a chance.
  19. Thats one helluva stat!!
  20. The thing is, even with Losman, if TC had called Willis' number a few more times in the NO game, I think we win that one. If Willis had 31 carries against that run D, we'd be 3-2 with me playing QB.
  21. I could see a shake out like this... LT - 1st Round Draft Pick LG - Gandy/Anderson C - Preston RG - Villarial RT - MW Villarial & MW worked well last year together, and I think they will this year again. They just need to stay healthy. As for DT, I agree, one of our biggest needs. Either a FA (although if we tag or re-sign NC, we won't have much $$ left over), or a 2nd Rd Draft Pick. I think spending some picks on D (except the 1st rder) will pay major dividends in the years to come. We need a DT, CB, S, and LB. I think Posey will be gone with Haggan or Crowell stepping in. Behind NC & McGee we are a bit thin at CB with Thomas out. S is self explanatory. We may have top wait a year to draft Fletcher's replacement, as we have too many other needs. Just my $.02
  22. Run Willis 4xs. Then the next time you're down there, run Willis 4xs again. This includes all 2nd and 1, 3rd and 1 and 4th and 1 plays (on their side of the 50 for the 4th and 1). You want to be a power running team (and I love that philosophy & think its the best way to go), then put your money where your mouth is.
  23. We can turn out the votes for "Tailgate Nation", lets turn them out for Ralph. Lets send an email to everyone the site suggests and let them know why Ralph should be in the Hall. Its time, let do it.
  24. Then I guarantee you we will win the game.
