  1. I love him!! He does represent everything thats right about pro football. The best signing TD ever made was TKO. I can't wait to see him back in uniform.
  2. I wouldn't go that far. We lost, but we had our chances to win.
  3. Nice thread...well as a product of a Jesuit Education in WNY, we didn't call it detention, but JUG...Justice Under God. Each day of JUG counted as 3 units. We didn't sit there in a room, but had to perform all sorts of maual labor in the school, such as painting, sweeping, cleaning bathrooms etc. When I gradauated out of the class of 93 students, I was the leader in JUG by a large margin from our graduating class. A couple of notable examples.... CHS had a walk-a-thon raising money for charity every year. So, my junior year, a couple of us get the bright idea that the walk-a-thon takes too much time, time that would be better spent in the pool hall on Main Street, yep the Hippodrome. So, we joined the walk-a-thon with our classmates and started walking. Then, we ditched around a corner and hid out till the crowd passes. Then, we jumped on the new Buffalo subway, headed downtown to shoot some pool. As the stop opens up right in front of the pool hall and we go to exit the car, who is standing there waiting for us...yep, the Dean of Discipline for CHS. 2 weeks of JUG. Senior year took Accounting, it was 2 period before our lunch, which was late around 1 PM. So we'd sit in class each various pieces of our lunch, an apple, chips or even a sandwich while we did the work. The teacher, who was new which was the only reason we got away with it that far, finally got fed up with it and said "There will be no dining in class." Well, we didn't think we were dining, but figured we'd show him what dining was. So the next day, I bring in a big bag to class, as the teacher starts his lesson, my buddy pushes his desk so that its facing mine. I then proceed to pull out a cloth tablecloth, cloth napkins, two plates of Mom's china, crystal wine glasses, silverware, a candleabra and candles and some leftover steak and potatoes from last nite's dinner, along with some grape juice. We proceed to set the food out, light the candles, pour the grape juice and dine while discussing the day's lesson. Even the teacher got a kick out of it, even though he said he had to give us JUG on principal. 6 units - Dining in Class Junior year, class trip to visit LeMoyne Jesuit College. We end up staying at the rectory. Big mistake. The priests failed to lock their liquor cabinet. We raided just about every bottle, trying some stuff that I didn't even know existed. We're completely bombed and hid the empty bottles in the suspended ceiling or filled the Vodka bottles with water. Monday morning comes around, during the announcements the Dean would call down the students he wanted to see (ie You were in trouble and he knew about it). He saves my name for last..."And finally I need to see Dan XXX in my office immediately, and Dan you'd better start sweating." 1 month of JUG including 3 summer Saturdays. I can continue...but nothing we did was malicious, just for fun. We were also the only ones who had an actual smoking lounge established for us where we could go smoke cigarettes without reprisal. Basically, the Dean was sick of catching us on school grounds and giving us JUG for smoking. He realized we weren't going to quit, so established a smoking lounge for us inside the school. It was a nice perk.
  4. I did say most people. Fortunately, I haven't been in any fights in a stadium or outside of it. Just some good-natured back & forth. Knowing your personality (As much as you can from a message board), it would seem like you were just in the wrong place, wrong time, and encountered a jerk or two.
  5. I've been to many NFL stadiums and I have always worn my JK jersey, and Bills paraphanalia. Don't be a jerk and people generally leave you alone. If you conduct yourself with class, most people will not give you a problem.
  6. This summer I took off the doors, dropped the top & took it to the beaches on Long Island. Great time. Did a bit of off-roading in it in Mass when camping this summer, but don't want to scratch it up. Ahh the Rocky Mountain Edition....I ordered mine in Feb 05, before I knew about the RME. I love the fenders, painted to match. Had I known, I would have ordered one myself. Tinted soft windows...I like that. The hard top is nice, but I see your point with only the softies. Besides, if you only have the softies, you have the cooler 1/2 doors. I had to get the full ones. The upgrade I've been looking at is Leather Seat Covers. I wished I could have ordered the seats in leather or even vinyl, much easier to clean when you have a 140 lb husky that rides around in it with you during shedding season. Barberi orinally made leather seat covers for MOPAR, but it was only for the 97-02 models. I'm trying to find out if the seat design changed in 02, or if it would fit my 05. Not sure yet. One thing...automatic tranny??? I'll check it out and place an order in the next couple of weeks. I'd just as soon order thru you guys than the pro shop on BB.com, and support a Bills Backers chapter. Maybe we should do something like this at NYCBBB. Hmmmm, I'll have to talk to Matt & Matt.
  7. OK it was my comp. I see the magnent for your car. Now, what's the deal? This company donates $$$ to MS on your behalf for every purchase? Is that it? I have to buy a bunch of Bills stuff (Baby edition) so if you guys are getting something for this, I'll order thru you.
  8. It was, of course, your mention of the Wrangler's package and my mention of topless that got him all excited. I have an 05 Sport, 6 cylinder. Red, Manual transmission, dual tops, 30" alloy wheel group etc., I upgraded a lot of the standard items. You? I'm trying to load the BBVA, fan shop, getting error on page message...hmmmm my computer or your site. Probably my comp.
  9. http://sports.yahoo.com/irl/news?slug=ap-i...ov=ap&type=lgns Danica denies punching other driver!!!
  10. Those are awesome. I wish I had those decals. They really look sharp on the Wrangler. I had to content myself with the NYS Bills license plate. Let me tell you, I've been keeping an eagle eye on my Wrangler this week for fear of idiots after we smoked the Jest.
  11. I can assure you you will like it. At the opener, my Dad, Godfather, my Godfather's son and his two young kids (ages 6 and 8) were there with me and we all had a great time. No BS from drunks either. The section really is worth the xtra money if you want to take kiddos or your wife isn't thrilled with sitting outside in 20 degree weather (she can go inside & warm up). You can have a beer if you want and the 1/2 time food choices are good. Seasons are expensive because of the PSL, but you can always find JK club seat on the net, the paper or simply from a scalper. I've never had a problem buying seats there. In a year or two I'm going in for a split with a good friend who nows lives in Pittsburgh, we each get 4 games and we'll split 2 seats. We had no questions about where we'd go...JK club.
  12. That was you? I was walking by Hammer's Lot to the Big Tree with my Dad, as a fellow Wrangler owner who also drove topless to the stadium (and paked in the lot that came with our tix) I was a bit nervous. Then I see this great looking blue Wrangler with magnetic Bills decals on the side. I said to my Dad, I have to get some of those. Where did you get those?
  13. That is tough. A tough place to sit for a kiddo. Hell, go to a winter game & use the excuse she may be cold to JK club seats. Just a thought.
  14. Actually, if you guys want to take your kids, I suggest sitting in the Jim Kelly club level seats. I usually sit there 2xs per season, elsewhere another time or two. The difference is unbelieveable. Maybe its because the tix are more expensive, or because noone is screaming !@#$ and egging everyone on, but its a great environment to take kids to a game. You can still have a beer (unlike the no alcohol seats), if its too cold for the kiddos, they can go inside an warm up etc. When I have a kid & start taking him to games, I'm going in for a split of JK club seasons. Its really worth the price to give your kiddo a great game-day experience.
  15. Not even Brian Moorman last year!!
  16. I think thats total yards from scrimmage. I think he's #4 on the rushing list.
  17. I'll eat the Crow as well. I didn't think he had it in him, but the last 2 weeks his kicking has been fantastic and clutch, in a Jeter-esque way. Go Rian!!
  18. I think the announcers said it best during the game...last year we had Phat Pat, who was replaced by Edwards, now both are gone. We are suffering from a lack of talent at that slot. We're not going to be able to correct that until the offseason. Too bad the Colts got Corey Simon.... That said, it wasn't too bad yesterday. Martin got 90 yards on 2 carries. The Bills were heavy in blitz mode to get to Vinny, which was absolutely the right D. So, Martin burned us a couple of times. It happens. There's a reason he's the 4th leading rusher in NFL history. The alternative would have been to curtail the blitzes & Vinny would have had more time. I don't think that would have been the right call. I'm actually quite encouraged by our run D overall, yesterday.
  19. So basically, what you are saying is if we all turned Schoop off, and told everyone else to do the same, then the show would change. I could live with that.
  20. So now the standard has been lowered to "As long as we're better than someone, anyone, TD's doing a good job."
  21. No question about it that there must be a trade-off. Maybe we can't sign Milloy or Vincent. Maybe we don't draft Evans or or Denney or Ron Edwards. I think we'd be better off. If TD set out to build a dominant OL from the start, we'd have a line that could keep the D fresh, control the clock, given Buffalo's weather it would be our best chance to succeed & give a young team of skill players a chance to grow. It would be the ultimate security blanket.
  22. I couldn't agree more, I was one of the guys screaming for Rivera or Wahle to be signed ASAP by the Bills. But again, TD decided to "get by."
  23. The humorous thing is that, about a year or so ago, we did a few threads where everyone listed their occupations, the cities where they lived, and to a point their salaries. The interesting part of those threads was that the internet message board user on TBD seemed to be an upper middle class, successful, white collar worker, originally from Buffalo, but who has since moved away chiefly due to career opportunities. The person takes a bit of time each day to follow the Bills and gradually became part of a community here at TBD. Essentially, what I'm saying is that the internet message boards user here on TBD can run circles around Mike Schoop with their eyes closed, in a professional sense, a financial sense and in a cognitive abilities sense. Sure, we have knee-jerk reactions and its not always pleasant, but all-in-all, Mike Schoop can't shine our shoes.
  24. But, and this is TD's fatal flaw, he has never made the OL a priority. If he did that in Year 1 or 2 of his era, we'd have a playoff team right now. Comparing what we have done, and yes looking at DB's stats with Dallas, I'm becoming more and more convinced that the problem with the Bills over the last few years has been, and always will be the OL. That must be fixed for this team to ever even consider playoffs. I don't really care if it means letting Moulds go, we MUST build an OL that can run a power rushing attack, keep our D fresh, and control the line of scrimmage. It all starts and ends with the OL.
