Jim Bates would be a GREAT choice as DC, even better than Cottrell or Capers in my opinion.

I'd love to take a shot with Pepper Johnson and McDaniels. It helps us and hurts NE. Else, lets go with the vets, Cottrell or Capers for DC, Wyche for OC. But MM is not that smart. He'll be contacting the Falcons DC and the Rams coach who sucked when he was with the Bills.

I'd actually love to see us bring in Joey Harrington, if he'd come cheap. I think he was miscast as a West Coast QB, and could thrive given the right circumstances. At worst he's a #3 with plenty of starting experience. At best, he fulfills his original promise as a QB.

Ted Cottrell is smart enough to tailor his D to the existing personel. Remember, Minn played a 4-3 under Cottrell until switching to a 3-4 midway thru the season. Also, high character players like PW and AW like playing for Cottrell, as evidenced by their following him to Minn. Personally, I'd love the move. He's experienced and loves Buffalo. Perhaps he was in a bit over his head last time, but his D sure played well, statistically. I think he'd be a tremendous choice.

How about the 4th and 3 Bledsoe bootleg against NE in 04 then?
