  1. That's right. And without lifting a finger.
  2. He should have went to Canisius and played basketball. He would have been a shoo-in.
  3. CIN talked with him a while back, but declined to make an offer.
  4. Waiting to hear from the Democrats, and Obama-Rama. Had they followed their own current advisor teams' advice to Japan in the '90s, instead of pumping in 100 billion dollars of newly-printed cash (debt) into GM for a 60% stake, they could have bought the whole corporation for under a mere billion dollars today. GM - now owned by government promises-to-pay, and the UAW. By all means, purchase a vehicle on the lots. New production...run by political appointees, conscripted civil service folks immune from being fired from performance, with the UAW calling some shots - calling those shots to a membership who had their wages and benefits slashed in half and more... I worked in the auto mfg. biz for a long time. Bon apetite...
  5. In the last 5 years or so, they cut 120,000 salaried employees. But no popular sympathy for them..
  6. So - he's an unpaid scab. Never thought those two word together could exist. Amazing how things have changed...
  7. Why? Edwards played qb in college, now entering his 3rd year in the pro league. I assume he's learned a thing or two along the way. Folks like to point out that he went to Stanford, so the assumption there is that he must be smart (forget those grade quotas). This nuance...isn't that why teams hire QB coaches, just for such? Why would they want or need to have input from a QB who played under a much different set of rules?
  8. Hmm...this tyke with a byline on CBS Sportsline...I'm confused. Is he getting $$$?
  9. Yeah. During the last two preseasons, people were all atwitter about how clever the Bills were to be running a vanilla offense and not playing their hand. If they are depending on an old QB to show them the ropes...yikes. Faced with what seems to be a musical chair OL dotted with rookies, were I an opponent and the Bills pulled a quick offense, I'd blitz those kiddies and plant TE hard.
  10. Heh. Were I a member of the legitimate press, I'd set it up so kiddie blogger was in close proximity, then flail my arms out when a spiffy play happened - deftly letting an elbow whack blog-boy hard in the chops, enough to knock him down. School of hard knocks? 22 year-olds without creds ought to be fetching food and drinks and getting some free education as payment for that service.
  11. Here is the outcome...a 22 year-old child from Connecticut, who attends the University of Dayton, reporting on the Bengals. http://bleacherreport.com/users/47578-Dan-Parzych This is the youngster's second piece, AFAIK. He's already danced about and changed his blather; one assumes based on others pointing out his lack of facts and backing off from relying on old wisps he heard here or there. His first chop at CIN was to say that the their defense last season was abysmal - they were 12th overall FWIW. This thing is a CBS grab for free content, right?
  12. Yes. Evidently, an automatic device sent out a signal of trouble, but it shortly ceased.
  13. Thanks - I thought it was something like that.
  14. I forget the details...IIRC it had something to do with a change this season about how this or that money was spread out over time. The upshot being that dumping vets on that date lost significance.
  15. Nice camera - I checked into it when I was shopping around. Looks like you worked a good deal what with the tv discount.
  16. - excerpts from The Superior Man, Confucius 551 – 479 B.C.: "The superior man is liberal towards others' opinion, but does not completely agree with them. The inferior man completely agrees with others’ opinions, but is not liberal towards them." "The superior man is firm, but does not fight; he mixes easily with others, but does not form cliques." "The superior man is always candid and at ease with himself or others; the inferior man is always worried about something."
  17. Some more info about Circuit City/Tiger Direct. It seems their returns policy is quite harsh... http://www.wcpo.com/content/news/localshow...Vqz7NhhVEg.cspx
  18. Two rookies reportedly to be depended upon to start, and play in different spots than their college play, a new center who might be ok, or might have not been thought worth keeping by his former team, a large RT shifting over to LT. Now rumor has it that they want to emphasize some level of "no-huddle" offense. Strike up the band...
  19. Won't that be tantamount to telegraphing the coming play to the opposing defense? Given that it seems that the OL will be an exercise in musical chairs, Royal might be missed more than suspected. It will be interesting to see how the draft crop of college spread offense TEs will pan out in the pros.
  20. Well...one can only hope that members of the OTA defense didn't ruffle their sun dresses or spill their pink lemonade fizzes.
  21. OTAs..."If you touch me, I'm telling teacher!!!"
  22. A trade would be a bit of a surprise, with his recent contract extension. I'd guess that would chase away potential trade partners.
  23. Thanks - it's indeed slow. The writers feel it, too - most of what I read is speculative puff. Can't blame 'em.
