  1. I was about to mention that. Big leg but misses gimmes. I'm sure all these players and a few more will get invited to NFL camps. 102 got invites last year but only two made an NFL roster or PS. But that's the whole point of the UFL for players: get noticed and earn one more shot.
  2. I can watch out of market NHL games for $5/mo with ESPN+. So why is the NFL package 20X more?
  3. I lost track of him. I'm just giddy Andreesen got a contract from his tryout. I think he will surprise people in training camp.
  4. That's a bit of a stretch, isn't it? Sal said he never went to OTAs in Green Bay either. He'd rather be a dad to his kids.
  5. If you want a meal straight from a can, you'd do better with baked beans.
  6. People who travel at high rates of speed bobbing and weaving through traffic. Tolls pay for roads. No tolls only means someone else is paying for your roads, likely the states with tolls.
  7. 6 wins are the minimum acceptable number, especially with this schedule.
  8. Wasn't that the place he thought was a drive thru?
  9. No one eats free.
  10. That only happens if there is some benefit for the county or state. Obviously rooms and meals taxes will do well with all the visitors. But a Draft held downtown means more local establishments make money. Who benefits if it's all down in Orchard Park? Big Tree and Danny's?
  11. Plus there's expenses with hosting a draft.
  12. I was just pointing out the irony of building a roof inside an open air stadium. And if you did create a covered stage and viewing area, like Detroit had, it would block the view of most attendees in the stadium. 🤷‍♂️
  13. You know what? If it's in the stadium they are going to have to build a covered stage in case of rain.
  14. If and when Fox and ESPN pull the plug.
  15. Most of the QBs you've heard of in the UFL, McCarron, Eitling, Perez, Ta'amu, all had alt least a cup of coffee in the NFL. But all belong in the UFL. Nothing wrong with that. The Peter Principle at work. But last year 102 spring players got invited to an NFL camp. That's 1-in-4 UFL players. Only one or two stuck, but the point is they earned a look.
  16. The Bills can make it like sleepover camp. Bring a tent and sleeping bag and stay all three days.
  17. Okay. So it's in OP. How are you getting 3-4X more people than a Bills game there? Parking? For 250K? Public transportation? Doesn't exist now. Buses will be next to useless because of traffic. I'm not seeing how this will work in OP.
  18. I've been trying to imagine where is the best spot for 250,000-400,000 people. I remember the massive crowd at City Hall after SB25. Canalside is a place you'd want to hold it but is it large enough? Then of course there's Orchard Park. Plenty large but few if any amenities. People will need to eat, drink and relieve themselves. No to mention get in and out.
  19. McCarron has said he chose to keep playing in the UFL so his children get to see dad start and play football.
  20. WEO loves to compare apples to station wagons. In this case, comparing afternoon weekends with prime time TV ratings. I already posted a link for weekly sports ratings. UFL games are middle of the pack ratings-wise. It's true attendance is lacking but that revenue is secondary to TV. The UFL exists for spring TV sports content. Fox and ESPN will decide if it's doing well enough.
  21. First 3 games of the weekend were pretty good.
  22. Different times then. Taverns were neighborhood watering holes. One on practically every corner. Shot and a beer. Since many also served food like fish fries seeing kids in there was not a big deal.
  23. Reliable kickers are hard to find. Be sure Bass is done before assuming the next guy will be better, unless they can sign Bates from the UFL. And even he missed some gimmes despite the big leg.
  24. The Bills aren't punting this year.
