  1. 4 games I don't care to re-live, honestly. Focused on the future.
  2. My point is while two bye weeks may suck some, a shorter NFL season sucks more, to me anyway.

  4. The offseason sucks more.
  5. 5-D chess. Genius! That's what makes him so diabolical. He knows when to move on from players.
  6. Even the lesser schools in power conferences are in deep doo. I too thought UB could move up but this process set me straight. There are no football programs in the northeast, barring Syracuse, maybe Army, that the networks value.
  7. Yes. Average game went 2.5 hours.
  8. A piss sink. I already have a piece of turf from the Super Bowl years. I pulled it out of a dumpster.
  9. "A Crisis For Sure!" Condensed.
  10. I think you are referring to Greg Kash? (sic) Joe is anything but edgy. Here's a bit from 2013 you might find amusing. Kind of sums up his style.
  11. It's a little uncomfortable being the favorites, but I'm putting any BBFS behind me. Purity of mind.
  12. Joe is one of us. #BillsMafia He's also a comedian, writer and producer of a show called "Joe Pera Talks To You" on Adult Swim. Sadly his show was cancelled this week after three seasons.
  13. The fact that TV networks like ESPN/ABC (for XFL) and Fox/NBC (for USFL) want football in the spring, and investing in it, tells you all you need to know. They know there's a market for spring ball. It doesn't have to outperform the NFL. Then there's sports betting dollars, something that earlier spring leagues didn't have.
  14. I can't decide if this is good or bad for G5 schools like UB. On the one hand, this relegates then downward to a minor status. Then again, they already were considered minor so what's the diff? Also, with the big boys out of the way, there could now be a G5 national playoff.
  15. You're exaggerating a bit on the scoring. There were plenty of high-point games too. But you have to maintain some perspective here. How great can you be when you are drafting an entire team 6 weeks before the season starts? So yes, USFL offenses were a lot more basic. But what you're looking at is execution, and that was pretty good. Stop comparing spring football to the NFL.
  16. Very well. I watched a lot of USFL games. That league had many ideas the NFL ought to consider: chipped balls, 3pt PAT option, non-kick onside option (convert 4th & 12 from your own 25.) mic'd up refs, auto-review of all personal foul/roughing calls, 15yd PI, clock stoppage after 1st down inside 2 minutes (actually that's a college rule.) Clock NOT stopping after incomplete passes outside of 2 minutes remaining in the half.
  17. Indeed they did. There was no chain gang in the USFL. Ball spotting and 4th down measurements were instantaneous.
  18. Oh, and #### you, Matt Murray!

  20. Unless WEO works for Fox/NBC Sports programming, he's not the decider if the USFL comes back. Every indication from those networks says they are very pleased with how the ratings were. In fact I read 63% of ad spots have been already sold for USFL 2023.
  21. Did they release the 2023 schedule already?

  23. The Stars won it in '84 and '85. Marv was the head coach of the Chicago Blitz.
