  1. https://www.yardbarker.com/nfl/articles/afc_notes_jordan_poyer_bills_jets_patriots/s1_17039_38478957 "Jason La Canfora of the Washington Post writes that Bills S Jordan Poyer is a candidate to be franchise-tagged by the team this offseason. The tag would be $14.46 million and give Buffalo until mid-July to work on an extension for the veteran Poyer, who turns 32 in April." Does this make any sense?
  2. I think they're are fewer of those people than you realize. What you do have are season ticket holders who sell some games to offset the cost of being a season ticket holder. More like the cost of debt service.
  3. We're all fairly anonymous here, aren't we? Only a handful of posters ever met me and a few have my number.
  4. But if they are in the race I can't see Levi getting a start.
  5. 14 ex-Bills on XFL rosters. (I only remember about half the names.) https://billswire.usatoday.com/lists/buffalo-bills-shot-xfl-aj-mccarron-nfl/
  6. You can count on it. Especially when tickets on the resale market go for hundreds sometimes.
  7. Devon Levi is not going to play in Buffalo for a while.
  8. Another good story on the XFL from the Athletic. (Paywall) https://theathletic.com/4206986/2023/02/16/xfl-dwayne-johnson-spring-football?source=user-shared-article
  9. It's hard to have a meltdown when the Bills win 12-13 games each season. From a media standpoint, the ending of the playoff drought was a drag because it took away their biggest red-meat issue to fire the fans up with.
  10. Interesting Twitter thread. I had no idea the Patriots haven't raised prices since 2008. (But their prices have been obscenely high for tickets and parking!)
  11. I'll bet Jerry's schedule is free. FYI, Howard's cousin Jason Alexander (yes, George Costanza) is starting his own daily podcast. I wonder if Howard will offer any pointers?
  12. Season ticket sales are at a record 63,000, and there is a wait list. Prices are climbing. Everything is unicorns farting rainbows when the Bills are good. I hope demand remains decent when the lean years return.
  13. While Sal is a big part of WGR he also has a lot of side gigs. I think being locked in to mornings would limit his other interests.
  14. The Bills employ dynamic pricing for individual game tickets. Some games cost more because of anticipated demand.
  15. The Bills have done this before during the ill-fated Toronto series. In years where there was one-fewer home game, they raised the per-ticket price, but what you paid for the package stayed the same from the previous year. Then the following year you package price would go up but the per-ticket price stayed the same.
  16. Except they don't compete directly, though the two leagues will overlap by a couple of weeks. Does that mean players could play in both leagues? We'll find out. In the meantime here's a primer on the upcoming XFL season. https://www.cbssports.com/xfl/news/xfl-2023-primer-schedule-players-coaches-rules-everything-you-need-to-know-about-rebooted-league/
  17. They really don't have that much time off. 6 weeks of carefree time at most.
  18. Both leagues are "second chances" for pro players. And that's how everyone should look at it. Are there NFL cuts that can improve with added coaching and experience? Last year 51 USFL players got NFL camp invites. And as of mid-December 2022, there were 2 active roster and 19 practice squad players with NFL clubs.
  19. When you finish first, you play more 1st place teams.
  20. Or people launching weather balloons for giggles now that our military is in overreaction mode.
  21. They left for Vegas. How far is Orlando? XFL Schedule Season kickoff is Saturday (Feb 18) at 3pm on ABC
  22. This Super Bowl had the highest percentage of offense generated by the ground game (.360) since 2007 (.423.) Would you had thought that would happen with two QBs who were #1 and #2 in MVP voting?
  23. There was one sneak attempt where a Chiefs lineman dove over the line and made contact with Hurts. But he was off the ground now and the Eagles O-line just moved him back like a leaf on an ocean wave. Yeah, it's the line! He what?
  24. Obviously, but the NFL has their pick of artists willing to perform for free, I would assume. Although "free" doesn't mean cost-free. Who pays for the lavish production? I assume the league does. Prince was amazing too. Being on floating stages suspended by wires might have played a part.
