  1. It's probably why he left. Don't be shocked if some big names start getting dropped. If I'm Jeremy White I'd be nervous. Companies look at the largest paychecks first. And WGR has plenty of Buff State comm majors to fill air shifts.
  2. This is a bit off topic but I wanted to share this here. https://www.sciencealert.com/dog-brains-have-unexpectedly-grown-larger-scientists-discover If you're like my family, we speak to our dogs like people. The brighter ones, I think, pick up quite a bit after a couple years of living with their humans. I'm not surprised their brains are getting larger.
  3. Hey, I'm in town for Jon Anderson at the Riviera!
  4. I bet a lot of those ads are what they call "PI" or per inquiry. Ever hear an ad that has a code? ("Call now and use the code 'WGR'....") That's to identify what media brought in the customer. Stations get paid only for responses. It used to be something only heard overnights. Now?
  5. Share price down to 9¢. https://www.allaccess.com/net-news/archive/story/228101/trading-of-audacy-stock-shares-halted-due-to-nyse-
  6. If it isn't the Bills I don't think I'll watch. I already subscribe to too many services as it is. Even if it is the Bills I'll have to think about it.
  7. Malcolm Subban had been doing well.
  8. I've had to put down a pet 4 times. The hardest was one dog who was healthy but became a psycho; sweet and loveable one minute, a snarling beast the next. We couldn't risk him biting someone so we did him in. I found that really hard because the damn dog trusted me and I took him to his death. The others were all really sick and it was the right thing to do.
  9. Top XFL players signing with NFL clubs https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/37656084/xfl-player-signed-nfl-tracker
  10. That's BP. Can Josh hit a 90+ curve?
  11. "Who on earth would pay for TV that's free?" - someone when they invented cable tv
  12. Surprisingly little. Since 1998, when this site was called Hyperbills and was affiliated with the D&C, I moved from Rochester to NH. Became self-employed in 2004. Kids moved out. Got older and more rickety. That's about it
  13. https://buffalonews.com/news/local/education/medaille-university-will-close-after-sale-to-trocaire-college-falls-through/article_a98f1590-f33e-11ed-9e36-67165ed47805.html?utm_source=buffalonews.com&utm_campaign=%2Fnewsletter-templates%2Fbreaking&utm_medium=PostUp&lctg=4093463&tn_email_eh1=8ee4dc94f7abade68eb6f29d57c194d4d86f05ba This is a shock to me. Any alums here?
  14. It will be either Colorado or Calgary in the west, to be decided this Saturday.
  15. Gonna try to remember every car in order since age 16... Rambler Ambassador Toyota Corolla Station wagon Dodge Dart Chevy pickup VW Ghia wagon Ford station wagon Volvo station wagon Chevy pickup VW Diesel Rabbit Another VW Rabbit Chevy Astro Van Mercury Sable station wagon Sable sedan Dodge Caravan Ford Windstar VW GTI Nissan Altima Another Altima Hyundai Sonata. I'm sure in forgetting something
  16. But we also obsess over that WR from Northwest Southeastern State. I don't see the difference from following college to following a spring pro league. They are all sources of potential NFL talent. But it's not just about developing players. There's coaches and officials too. Did you notice how many female officials the XFL used? https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2023/05/12/reggie-barlow-xfl-defenders/?outputType=comment&no_nav=true
  17. Isn't the entire concept of an extra point after scoring a gimmick? What other sport does that? The reasoning behind a 3pt XP is to make it harder to put a game away. In the NFL a 17 point lead is 3 scores. In the XFL 18 is still a 2-score game.
  18. I think they would. Same in the NFL or college on 2pt XPs.
  19. It's not easy to get the 3. If we can obsess over the draft and rookie mini-camps, I don't see why spring pro football is such a turn off.
  20. Turns out Arlington was a championship caliber team without a QB before week 7. I doubt he's recruiting anyone, but Dawson Knox and Jordan Ta'amu were college teammates. Nice of him to come to San Antonio you watch.
  21. That will never happen. Not because the NFL has a problem with these spring leagues. Quite the opposite. It's because any direct involvement with these leagues opens them up to further potential CTE liability. So the NFL will remain arms-length from the XFL and USFL, while still working with these leagues through official training, and using them as a laboratory for rules changes.
