March 14th - after the Brees/Culpepper signings
-
Well, there's no denying Levy was the right man at the right time who benefitted from great players and a great GM. However, going to the bowl 4 straight times has never happened before or since. There was some luck involved, sure, but Levy was the guy running the ship when it happened. Take all the coaches before modern day free agency- some still coach today- and none of them went to 4 in a row. If Houston wins the comeback game, Levy is not in the Hall of Fame- he needed the 4 in a row in my opinion. But he did it, he's in, and why are we even questioning this, Bills fans?

I have posted the top 100 rated draft players a few posts down. The safety you refer to is rated the 13th best player in the entire draft by them. If he lasts until the third round, great, but I suspect he will go much earlier.

Vikes use the old Wolford trick to keep
Webster Guy replied to BADOLBILZ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
From Profootballtalk: 'HAWKS MAKE SHREWD MOVE ON HUTCH In lieu of matching the offer sheet signed by guard Steve Hutchinson with the Vikings and then taking their chances in an arbitration, the Seattle Seahawks have opted instead to seek a ruling from a Special Master on the propriety of a poison pill provision before deciding whether to match the deal. According to The Associated Press, the NFLPA said on Friday that the league has filed a claim on the Seahawk's behalf alleging that a term making the entire contract guaranteed if Hutchinson is not the highest paid member of the offensive line circumvents the CBA. So, in essence, it's the NFL and the Seahawks against the NFLPA and the Vikings. "They say the clause circumvents our collective bargaining agreement. It is our belief that it does not," NFLPA general counsel Richard Berthelsen said. The first question is whether the issue will be resolved by a Special Master or by an arbitrator. The jurisdiction of the Special Master isn't entirely clear. In the grievance regarding whether the Jets properly had matched the offer sheet signed in 2003 by Chad Morton, an arbitrator presided. In the grievance regarding whether the Cowboys improperly cut quarterback Quincy Carter as discipline for a drug issue, a Special Master was used. The primary difference is that an arbitration ruling cannot be appealed, but a Special Master decision can thereafter be appealed to the federal court system. On Saturday, a hearing will be held to determine whether the Special Master has jurisdiction over the matter. The fact that the league believes the Special Master should resolve the issue suggests that the league thinks its chances of prevailing are worse in arbitration. Per the report, the last time this issue arose was in 1993, the first year of free agency. The Colts signed tackle Will Wolford to an offer sheet that required him to be the highest paid player on offense. If the Bills had matched, they would have been required to increase Wolford's salary above the wages paid to quarterback Jim Kelly. The league thereafter amended the CBA to preclude offer sheets containing terms that would require the team matching the offer to pay more than the team that made the offer. But this one is different. Matching the offer sheet won't require the Seahawks to pay Hutchinson more money than the Vikings would pay. Matching would merely require the Seahawks to guarantee the contract. Stay tuned. The Seahawks apparently will match the offer sheet if they win, and they won't match it if they lose. Until then, both the Seahawks and the Vikings are caught in limbo with their remaining cap dollars. -

Could JP Losman be on his way out?
Webster Guy replied to firstngoal's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, that's okay, go root for, say... the Steelers (they won the Superbowl)... for a year or two. Then when the Bills start winning, cmon back- there'll be plenty of room for you on the wagon then. OR Don't "give up" on being a Bills fan. -
Could JP Losman be on his way out?
Webster Guy replied to firstngoal's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How about we give JP a good offensive line, the number 1 RB in the league and the #1 TE in the league and THEN compare him to Brees? -
The Redskins will match the offer.

drafting Parrish or releasing P.Williams
Webster Guy replied to Hardy Pyle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why waste your brain cells pondering this? -
No way Shaud=RJ in my opinion. Shaud's role however may change drastically from last year. Mularkey often took Willis out on third downs and Shaud came in for the shotgun draw or to be a safety valve for the 3rd and long. He played his role pretty well. He can catch and has those scamperback moves. I get the feeling Willis will be in for third downs more often this year. If he needs a spell, then Gates should be the one to come in (or maybe A-Train). Waiting to see if Shaud fits in the new offense.

Entertainment News Tuesday March 14th, 2006 "Dallas" Casting Heats Up" 20th Century Fox's film version of classic 80's soap "Dallas" with director Robert Luketic is heating up in the casting stakes reports Variety. Jennifer Lopez has been offered the part of Sue Ellen Ewing, Luke Wilson is negotiating to play Bobby Ewing, John Travolta has an offer to star as J.R. This is Nonsense. How are Skins doing this?
Webster Guy replied to BenchBledsoe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
But it never seems to bite teams as hard as we think. The Skins seem to find ways to soften the blow. This is like the tax code- Ralph was right. -
What do you mean? How are they treated badly? The NCAA takes the conference winners (aren't there 30 automatic bids?). That leaves 34 "at large" teams. The committee then selects who in their opinion are the remaining 34 best teams. If anything, a case can be made to get rid of Air Force or Utah State and put in Cincinnati, who many people thought got the shaft. Every year there are teams that fall in the 32nd to 36th best "at large" teams and only half make it. The other half "get the shaft". Whenever there's a cutoff point in sports (BCS/bowl games in football, NCAA basketball) there will fringe teams who may or may not make it. This makes people happy or angry depending on who they root for. Hey, if you have a team who didn't make it you thought deserved to be there- boycott away, I respect that. But the fact is there are stronger conferences who have better teams. If a team wants a guarantee to make it, win the conference and they're in.

Will 3 QBs be drafted ahead of the Bills?
Webster Guy replied to Webster Guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm still thinking.... {Edit: I voted no...hope I'm wrong] -
If all 3 QBs get drafted before Buffalo's 8th pick, it will let some pretty good talent fall. Get out your crystal ball: Will all 3 QBs go ahead of the eighth spot?
