Awesome experience. Thanks for sharing. Can't argue with Van on the OL. His take on J.P. might be true but I think most of what ails him is the offensive line. He's losing confidence because of repeated lack of success and unless the line gets addressed this off season, his development could be permanently stunted.

The whole thing smells. Lots of questions left unanswered: What exactly did "excused from practice" actually mean? Moulds requested to have time off and coach granted it or is it that Mularkey mandated that he was not eligible to practice. I tend to think the latter. Why the suspension? EM says in his latest interview that Wilson actually wanted him to play. How can you suspend a guy when you make a statement like that. As you said, if it were a matter of practice time - inactivate him. Why isn't EM overly upset over the suspension and resulting loss of salary? He seems to be fairly ok with the way things ended up. Probably won't know the answers for sure til next year when EM is on another team and more free to talk.
-
Absolutely. Any coach that doesn't know how to take advantage of a pro bowl veteran receiver other than as a decoy is really outsmarting himself. Granted, Moulds has lost a step, but he is far from washed up. In my opinion EM has every right to be upset and I would've reacted the same way. Being a head coach is more than just Xs and Os. Player management skills are just as important and so far MM has shown he is highly lacking in this department (amongst other things). Even if MM wins this with EM, it will not sit well with the rest of the team. EM is highly respected by other players and they'll see this possibly happening to them in the near future.

Pat Williams was asked if he had an explanation for Buffalo's decision to allow him to hit the free-agent market after last season. "They are dumb," he said. "That's all I can say. They are dumb as can be up there." see article I can't say that I disagree with him. This is especially poignant considering all the issues with Sam Adams right now.

On 1st and 10, 2 minute warning - KNEEL!

I hope you say that with sarcasm. Remember we are dealing with the zebras here. Just didn't seem like they had enough time before the next snap to take a good look at it. -

They should've kneeled, no doubt. But what no one is mentioning is McGahee's carlessness. He should have both hands wrapped around the ball in that situation. A little too non-chalant for my taste. The other thing that irks me is that the booth upstairs didn't review it. On the one brief replay they showed, WM's knee looked very close to being down. I'm not saying that it was, but they should've looked at it. -
Some opinions from the game thread today:
-
Exactly. Not only is the call idiotic, it sends a message to the OL and the rest of the team how little confidence MM has in this offense. Just about the exact opposite of what Vermeil did last week.
-
Great win today but the play calling is still a little baffling. Mularkey and Clemens love the trick plays and it annoys me to no end when they use them at the worst times, as they did today. 3rd and ten - flea flicker called - aborted by McGahee when pass rusher closing in on KH - any point in this call? 4th and 1 - fake qb sneak with a pass called to McGahee 5 yards behind the line of scrimmage - KH sacked. Are you kidding me!? Seems these types of plays have always been drive killers this year.

Panthers Cheerleaders arrested

It seems they crashed a high school reunion before heading to the bar. More Pics -
TKO is a man possessed, on and off the field. He's never been to the playoffs and I think last year was extra tough for him to take. I can see him keeping this defense grounded and focused the whole year.

Extra film sessions without the coaches. Are these guys motivated this year or what. I love it!!

Good tennis on the telly now (Wed night)
Jukester replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You are spot on Simon. Just finished watching and the quality of tennis in that 5th set was as good as it gets. Down to the end, points were being won with unbelievable shots, hardly any unforced errors. Both these guys played their hearts out and it was a shame that one of them had to lose. Instant Classic -

Ok so the local CBS affiliate here in St. Louis picks up the feed a half hour later at 2-1 in the 5th set. I already know it goes to 6 all in the fifth set tie-breaker, but don't know who wins. So now i've gotten off the website and am sitting through the earlier part of the 5th set so I can finally see the exciting conclusion. -

Yeah, USA said that due to contractual obligations they had to cut away but he local CBS station would be picking up the rest of the match. Well you got it on the east coast, but here in St. Louis CBS is showing Inside Edition. The fuggin bastards!!!! It's 6-6 in the 5th set and I have to follow the match online with no video. Unfriggin believable -
People love to slam Buffalo over weather

From Buffalo News article: Coach Mike Mularkey plans to have his regulars get extended minutes in the final exhibition against the Detroit Lions on Friday night in Ralph Wilson Stadium. "We'll probably play a little more than just the normal fourth preseason game that seems to be a standard around the league," Mularkey said. "We're going to play more because we need to be in a rhythm on both sides of the ball, special teams, all together before we come out of this game. Hopefully, that's early, and we'll just wait and see." Please God - no major injuries!!

I Don't Care One Iota About This Game....
Jukester replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Couldn't agree with you more. That and the mental mistakes that continue to occur are my biggest concerns. Penalties (delay of game, personal fouls and others); Fumbles (Clements, McGahee, Losman, Gates all put the ball on the ground on Friday); Missed assigments - blitz pickup, blocking assigmnents, routes All these things show lack of discipline and with the defense and special teams we have, we just need to limit them to have a good season -
Almost Silent Thread for New Orleans
Jukester replied to Chalkie Gerzowski's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Here's an excerpt from an article at weather.com The levees that protect the city from flooding are also a flood threat themselves. "The biggest threat that the city has is that of a slow moving Category 3, 4 or 5 hurricane, which would create a surge of water that could be up to 30 feet high. Now if this (high) water comes into the city, it will top the levees. It will go over the top of the levees and actually fill up the city," said Hijuelos. He added, "Every drop of water that comes into this city has to be pumped out. We're below sea level... but when you get a situation of a surge, the pumps would be under water. The pumps would be useless in that situation." Oh Boy!!! -
Geography is not a problem. Even Dickerson is calling in from Florida for his show.

Shelton definitely had a bad game. Aside from missed blocks, he was the one that needlessly body slammed the Bear player way out of bounds after a fumble recovery/return.
