  1. Ah the good old days - astroturf with the red end zones. Edit - just realized that if you hit the E direction button, the image changes to the current stadium
  2. And we're supposed to take everything that comes out of this guy's mouth as fact?! He's been lying continuously since he's been in the hatch - even after being called out for his original story, he tries to lie again only to be trumped by Sayid's dollar bill with the note on it. Why should we believe the new stuff - just cuz he said "i'm done lying?" But i'm not convinced that he's there accidentally. I think he's there to get info. I mean if the "others" wanted to come get him, don't you think they have the power to do so? Anyway I think this episode served a greater purpose. What's the worst thing we all fear? That at the end of the series this whole thing will be somebody's dream or hallucination. Well, by bringing in this episode now, i think the writers are trying to rassure us that they wouldn't do that to us. It's really amazing how unique this show is. Each week there are some answers but usually more questions/mysteries are created. And of course each week you get more drawn in.
  3. Duke was playing both LSU and Texas?! No wonder they lost.
  4. Man that kid is the poster child for Ritalin. I hope for his sake that it was all an act.
  5. This is amazing. Finally, someone that thinks of the fans instead of lining their pockets. Thanks for the link. Managers/supervisors around the country can't be very happy with this development.
  6. Well, everyone wanted to see a former Bills qb join the coaching staff........
  7. Uh, you have Mularkey staying and then Jauron making the decisions. Unless of course you forgot to mention that you hired Jauron as the DC.
  8. Remember Bobby April came from St. Louis too
  9. From the UB Athletics website: Alex Van Pelt, who comes to UB after a long NFL career with the Buffalo Bills, will coach the Bulls' quarterbacks and serve as passing game coordinator. While it is his first full-time job in college coaching, he served as quarterbacks coach and play caller with the Frankfurt Galaxy of NFL Europe in 2005.
  10. My tv doesn't have a built in HD tuner, so can't pick it up over the air. Has to go through the cable box.
  11. Yeah, I have Charter too and they used to have it included in a separate sports tier. But they completely removed it from their lineup about 2 months ago because they said their wasn't enough interest. I tend to believe your theory, though. Charter is full of crap. To top it all off they don't provide ABC in high def here in St. Louis because of a squabble they have over fees with the local ABC affiliate. As we all know, the Super Bowl is on ABC this year. It's gonna be just wonderful watching the game on my big screen high def tv - in analog. Friggin a-holes.
  12. Are you kidding me. He took a bunch of no-names and had one of the better running games in the league at the end of 2004. Remember how everyone was enthralled with Willis at the time. Well he needed a good line to do what he did. I agree he's no miracle worker but he's right up there as far as O-line coaches go. Otherwise he wouldn't be garnering so much interest. It's easy to say good-bye but who are you going to replace him with?
  13. I'll concur with that.
  14. Yeah, that's what I thought. Just surprised that there was so much interest in someone that wasn't really available. Is there something that we don't know?
  15. Rams insider Jim Thomas of the Post Dispatch was on the morning talk show here in St. Louis and here’s what he dished regarding the Rams: 1. Talks with Jim Bates for DC have fallen through. It seems Bates wanted more than the Rams were willing to pay - $1 mil plus. 2. Greg Olson is just about wrapped up as the OC 3. Jim McNally was mentioned by Rams brass when discussing O-line coaches. Thought I’d pass it along. Sean Payton in New Orleans has also targeted McNally for his O-line coach. Man I sure hope ML and DJ hold on to McNally. As for Bates, I don't think RW will pay that kind of money for a coordinator.
  16. Sherman. It's a no-brainer, imo. Now whether the Bills will make the obvious choice......depends on the musings of a couple of old guys. Also salary might be factor here as Sherman was making over $3 mil at GB. Ralph's history says he won't pony up that much for a head coach.
  17. Bad example. They had already whistled the play dead for in the grasp. If anything that was a late shot by Pitt that caused the fumble. So I take it back. It was a good example of bad officiating
  18. Granted the Pitt Olineman moved a half an inch, but the refs didn't see/call it. But half the defense came over the line. Why was this a "no call." Should have been one or the other.
  19. Hey I wasn't assuming it was on the books. My point was that the only possible explanation for that call is that some obscure rule exists somewhere in the rulebook. I don't buy "the official is an idiot" argument.
  20. Exactly.
  21. How do you know it's not on the books?
  22. Sure it does. Don't you remember the "Tuck Rule." Same exact scenario. The official made the right call there (according to the rules), when at the time everyone was calling him names much worse than "functionally illiterate"
  23. Yeah, NFL.com only has an official "rules digest" and it does not make any reference to it. That's why I asked for a link. I couldn't find the official rulebook online anywhere. No doubt that the interpretation by the official that reviewed the play was based on some obscure verbage found in the rulebook. And for that I don't blame the official, I blame the NFL. No one in their right mind using common sense would say that was an incomplete pass
