  1. I made the trip to Indi for this one and they laid a big turd. After a couple of promising opening drives on both sides of the ball, the team completely fell apart and then just downright quit. ?. I don't expect the world from this team but come on - at least play hard and be competitive. The blowouts under this regime are crazy. Even my 9 yr old is starting to get numb to this stuff. Last year on the drive home from Cinci, he was in tears. This year he didn't even want to waste time on any emotion - just shook his head wondering if we'd ever be any good. As always, very impressed with the number of Bills fans that traveled for this game.
  2. I was at the game and Jerry must've said something to the ref. it was well after the play and he was just standing next to the ref and all of a sudden the flag flies. I don't blame him at all. Exactly. Blatant holds all the time that never get called. Some of those big runs by the Colts yesterday...clear holding. I hate NFL officiating. Not blaming this loss on them but come on - would've been nice if they even a quarter of them.
  3. 1. My family moved to Cheektowaga in 1980 when i was 9. My dad had started following football and I was hooked. Those were the days of Fergy, Cribbs, Lewis, Smerlas, Haslett, etc... Been a lifelong Bills fan since, even after moving away as an adult 2. Tough question. Probably the identity they give to the community. We live and die by every game. 3. a) 51-3 clincher for the first super bowl - was in college at the time but that feeling of knowing we were going to the show remains priceless b) Comeback game - i was at this game... til the end c) Division clincher in 88 against the Jets where i was on the field postgame as we tore the goal posts down and passed a piece up to RW's box The Fergy to Hooks game was my first live game ever. I was little and too many people standing so didn't really see it but the celebration was awesome I remember the broncos game fondly - Biscuit's first game where he terrorized Elway non-stop.
  4. Tom, Also making the trip from St. Louis with my 2 boys ages 8 and 5. It will be the younger one's first Bills game! Will definitely stop by your canopy. Thanks. Should be fun - i hear Lucas Oil is a great venue. Regardless of the absurd QB situation, i think we still have a shot to win this one because of the D and the Colts not being that good.
  5. Subscribed to Blitz last year but haven't found the need to this year. Don't miss it since there are plenty of free offerings out there. I do visit Maven. Unlike others here, i don't mind getting alternate takes from the likes Sully and Gleason. Rumblings is another great site.
  6. And you expected what exactly? You hangin in there?
  7. And then it’s not consistent at all. In the same game a Tampa receiver (#12 i think it was) fumbles the ball when the defender hit the ball directly with the helmet, which is fine in itself. But replays clearly showed the defender led with his helmet, made contact with the receivers helmet/face mask first then the ball. No call - Pittsburgh ball. Contrast this with the ridiculous call on Tre White for deenseless receiver on a sure clean tackle. The NFL rules committee are a bunch of morons. It’s a combination of both.
  8. Mofo, you da man. ? We so needed this. Enjoying every second.
  9. Yep i remember thinking we finally have big play capability. But Reed was a no name at that point and the two of them went on to become one of the most prolific QB-WR tandems in the history of the league. Great quarterbacks make those around them better. Let's see what Allen can do. Also saw some receptions by Jerry Butler in that game. Didn't recall he was still playing when Kelly started.
  10. Exactly. I'll take that and then follow it up with a good draft (for offense this time).
  11. That was the second Jets game that season in NY but I hear you. Classic.
  12. Josh Allen will need a little bit of this type of toughness to survive Sunday. I was 15 yrs old when Kelly played his first game and i remember it fondly. The team had just come off back to back 2-14 seasons. That first game against the Jets was electric even though they lost. They only won 4 that year but most of those games were competitive.....and there was hope. And we all know what that era turned into. Here’s to hope.
  13. ? Have a great one Scott.
  14. Yep, today is the day to call. Looks like some of you are getting it for free...nice. I had already gotten ST for about $75 with a boatload of other pkgs for free and the additional monthly $60 off but hadn’t gotten anything for max....until today. Got the upgrade for one time charge of $25. Make the call now if you haven’t already.
  15. Very odd. Must be an ad they never updated?
  16. Thanks otagoyellow - i joined but missed out on last night's pick, and it also won't let me do the last tiebreaker so not sure how it will play out.
  17. I sometimes disagreed with his opinion but always looked forward to Jerry's columns. I for one am glad he's back on the scene. Those that can't stand him because he's 'negative' (that refrain is repeated over and over here) can choose not to read/listen to him. It's that simple. But the fact that he still elicits such strong opinions on both sides means he is/was doing his job as a columnist. I also looked forward to his questions during the press conferences. At least somebody had the balls to ask a few tough questions instead of the standard fluff. According to the interview, he and Bucky have not gotten credentials from the Bills for that yet so there is also a bit of stonewalling there too.
  18. The QB situation is what it is. It boiled down to either Peterman or McCarron with Allen sitting and learning (unless Allen was lights out fantastic from the get go). As far as a coach, I think McD is a great manager/motivator of people. He has a vision of a unified group working toward a common goal - the process - and he's gotten the leaders of the team to buy in. He nurtures a family type atmosphere. That culture can't be underestimated when it comes to a long term plan. From that perspective i love what he is doing. What i worry about and want to see from him this season is a step forward in game day decision making and management. Clock management, punting/going for it in certain situations on the opponents side of the 50, when/when not to throw the challenge flag, etc... We'll see if that improves.
  19. Not sure where you're looking but here it is directly. I confirmed this with the rep when i ordered ST this year - max just gives you the extras of redzone, fantasy channel, and the shortened version of the replay games. Enjoy every live out-of-market game, every Sunday with NFL SUNDAY TICKET, only on DIRECTV. Get every single minute of every game (select international games excluded) on your TV, laptop, tablet, phone, or game console. Or up your game to NFL SUNDAY TICKET MAX to get the exclusive DIRECTV FANTASY ZONE® CHANNEL and the RED ZONE CHANNEL®.
  20. FYI - you don't need Max for mobile streaming. It's inlcuded in the base ST as of a couple years ago.
  21. I also missed out so would be interested in a second group
  22. Holy smokes! I had called a few weeks ago and accepted the free upgrade but after reading all of the issues with Genie 2 I ended up calling and cancelling. This validates it even more. That same call i got the $60 dollars off for a year offer but very little on the Sunday Ticket so i decided to wait on ST ( I think it was $12 off per 6 payments) Called back a few days ago and they had nothing new for ST but offered me a slew of other freebies - MLB Extra Innings, Showtime & Cinemax (i already have HBO), and the SportPack which would give me MSG bufflalo. I accepted all of that but still didn't pull trigger on ST. When i got home none of the above had been added. Called back and did the upset customer act and the girl was able to get me $150 off Sunday ticket and free MLB Extra Innings which i accepted happily in lieu of movie channels and SportPack. Tried to get upgraded to ST Max but was out of offers. Will continue to try for that before the season starts. Overall - not as great as it has been in the past but pleased with what i got. A few things i learned that may help your cause. 1. If they offer something but you're not really sure - don't say 'decline' - say you'd like to think about it. I was told a 'decline' would remove the offer completely whereas the latter will keep it in the system in case you call back 2. The Loyalty CSR's have a discretionary weekly allowance to dole out discounts. My CSR said she only had $150 left in her bucket for the week and she used it all on my call (it wasn't an ST specific offer) 3. She said they usually have discount offers for ST and/or ST Max on the first Sunday of games. That's 9/9 if you hadn't already double circled that on your calendars yet ? 4. She also said they often start offering RedZone standalone around the start of the season instead of having to pony up for full ST Max if that's all you're interested in. 5. The $60 off for a year discount that I and many of you received is extendable to a second year (at least for me it was). So ask about that, have them document, and call back next year to reinstate. There is no extension of contract for this offer. Happy hunting.
  23. From the Stephon Gilmore school of tackling. Unreal.
  24. Agree. Would love to make a trip from STL but can't swing it with such short notice.
  25. That doesn't mean 20% of the stadium. Let's say the total inventory being sold by these sites is 40% of the stadium (high estimate imo) and 20% of those went to Bills fans, we're talking 8% of a 69,000 seat stadium. Now if Bills fans are coming in droves and hit 50% or more of those aftermarket tickets (which it sounds like they may be) we're at 20% or more.
