People talk about everybody eats but that didn’t work the first few games last season until we got Cooper, and whilst he didn’t get the hoped for numbers his sheer presence gave the opposition D something to worry about and often drew their #1 CB to cover him which freed up the space for others. Lived in HK and Singapore for roughly a decade in total and that was the worse part of it, couldn’t watch live NFL games at all and back then there weren’t the apps that there are now to just download the game and watch on your phone. It’s bad enough here in the UK when the late games are on, but that was worse, even normal 1pm Sunday games were middle of the night and later games were ok but of course I had to be at work as it was Monday. Only silver lining is it coincided with a large chunk of the drought years, so I guess I didn’t miss too much. I remember watching the packers v Steelers Super Bowl on a Monday morning at about 7am at my in laws house in china, no English commentary but at least I could watch it, was a strange experience as it was also Chinese New Year’s Day so we had people dropping in all morning who I’m sure were wondering who the hell the big white guy was eating dumplings and getting excited at the TV 🤣

This is very interesting as one big reason that soccer is the most popular sport in the world is because all you need is a ball and a buddy to play with and you’re good. It’s the ultimate poor and working class people’s sport. Not just in Europe, but Africa and central/South America too. interesting to hear how it’s become a richer persons sport in the states, you only need to hear most of the English players in the premier league speaking to know that they’re definitely not from the educated classes 😆

I’d forgotten about Cambodia, but I second this. The Angkor wat\thom temples are spectacular and I never made it there but I believe Sihanoukville has some decent beaches. I even enjoyed Pnom Penh as I’m a bit of a history buff and find the whole Khmer Rouge thing and the killing fields fascinating (recently came back from a trip to Poland to see Auschwitz too, that’s a bit of a morbid thing to tell people as the reason you’re visiting their country) Palawan in the Philippines is also supposed to be be beautiful although sadly I never made it there

I love Phuket and Ko Samiu was the first island I visited in Thailand so always has a special place in my heart. If you get a chance I’d also recommend a hop over to the Philippines and in particular Boracay, it’s not the most convenient flight but the beach there is fantastic, although it’s 15 years since I was there so hopefully it’s not been spoilt now. It was a great place to get my American food fix as they love American culture there (as do I) 🇺🇸

word of advice from someone who worked in SE Asia for a decade, don’t bother with Pattaya. There’s nothing redeeming about the place at all, especially as you’re married. Try Phuket/pi pi island or Samui/Ko Phangyan instead. Bangkok is great though, and Malaysia has very friendly people although can feel a little boring after you’ve been in Thailand. There’s a bit more to it than that, the best players are constantly on the move and particularly the best strikers make numerous runs off the ball which often amount to nothing when the ball isn’t played through for them. As a centre half though he’d probably excel and love the physical battle too I agree with you, and it works both ways too. If you took some of the guys who played rugby for England and sent them to school in America instead I have no doubt some would be in the NFL. Same as if LeBron James had decided to box at an early age instead of hoop, he’d probably have been heavyweight champion. Some people are just gifted and won the genetic lottery

He’d probably be a decent boxer, he’s tall and got the range plus he’s used to getting knocked around by big guys so would hopefully take a decent shot. Not so sure about soccer, it’s a very tiring sport where you have to be on the move almost constantly for 90 minutes and no way to know if he has that level of stamina as opposed to the explosiveness in shorter bursts he needs in the NFL. He might be a decent goalkeeper though considering his size and throwing ability

I hear what you're saying and I agree 2022 was the year where the heavens plotted against the bills, but Von Miller before injury was that good I still think they'd have made it if he'd been healthy. Unfortunately the Gods didn't want it. Didn't help that Josh had a massive fight with his gf the night before the bengals game which effectively ended the relationship either (so I was told)
