At the very least, I would expect to see a parade of kickers visiting and being worked out by the bills in the coming (week). Lindell was never challenged this preseason.... and Mike Schafer...had no business even being signed to a FA contract. That guy flat out sucks... even the most die hard SU fan will tell you that. So, this tells me Donahoe was completely satisfied with Lindell. Donahoe talks a good line about competition for jobs when it serves his purpose well... ie. Bledsoe/Losman and Henry/McGahee... but what about Lindell? Where's Lindell's accountablity and competition? And while we're at it, Tom... where is your competition coming from... Modrak? How about bringing in someone that can take your job... preferably as soon as today.

1) Our #2 ranked defense is a myth. When the game was on the line they allowed a 75+ yard drive in their own house against a one of the NFL's poorest offenses. No pass raush to speak of... unless they blitzed DBs/backers. Jerry gray was a loser when he was an Oiler and he's still a loser. We need a proven and experienced DC. 2) Bledsoe is not a difference maker... at least for the Bills. He is a difference maker for the opposition. Josh Reed could play QB and be just as ineffective. Show Bledsoe the door now and put the cap money savings to good use by getting a pass rusher (a real difference maker) and some decent O-lineman. 3) This team has already dug itself a deep hole. When they lose next week against the Raiders they will be 0-2 going into the bye, then they will get dumped by the Pats and be 0-3. 4) Forget the playoffs. 8-8 if you are an optimist, 4-12 if you're a pessimest, and 6-10 if you're a realist. 5) We're all suckers... Believing that Donahoe is going to put together a winning team... he's just as much a myth as the defense and Bledsoe.

Well, let me ask you this... would you put Dave Kingman in as your leadoff hitter? You can't make a singles hitter out of someone that always swings for the fence. Bledsoe might be OK for the first few games... but at some point he'll revert back to his old self. He'll take sacks and throw ints in the redzone... that's just his nature... after 11 seasons, mentally, he's an old dog... and they typically can't master new tricks.

So why is everyone's shorts in a knot? Whay Sully printed is a fairly accurate portrayal of Donahoe's "watch" as Bills GM in terms of his "on field" success. I got news for you... Donahoe's mission was never to make this franchise a winner. Ralph clearly sees the WNY economic implosionand Donahoe's marching orders from Ralph were to... first "prepare this team for market" and then try to win games. He's done that job very well. He's sold the fans on the Bledsoe myth, hired cheap coaches so the new owner will look at it as a plus that he doesn't lose a ton of $$$ in firing the coaches, and kept the salary cap very manageable. I'm sorry, Ralph, in his twighlight years, is more concerened at "righting" things financially than winning football games... he looks at it that he had his chance in the early 90's and things didn't work out, but it was a great ride... and now he must prepare this house for sale. I must say, the Bills are an attractive commodity for someone looking to buy in to the NFL... and the lease deal has enough wiggle room for a new owner in a good spot able to leverage relocation vs. a new lease deal. Remember... franchises that are on a winning run tend not to sell as well as those that are winning... The winning ones have a higher price tag and higher overhead. I certainly didn't think Kelsay did anything to dislodge Denney... and I didn't think Denney played poorly enough to lose his starting job.

Actually, I'm not. I noticed Tasker and Levy were saying, during the telecast of the Lions game, that because of the injury situation, keeping a a guy that just long snaps might not be possible. The two of them sounded for sure like they thought Neufeld, because he could play TE, longsnap, and play H-back/FB would take Dorenbos' roster spot. Immediately, I said to myself Bullstevestojan!!! Dorenbos is an excellent LS and worthy of a roster spot... Neufeld is strictly backup... and if he were to become injured, you've got no-one. So, I never thought Dorenbos was in danger of losing his job. Now, the Simonton thing is interesting... I thought for sure that Both Simonton and Shaud Williams would make the team... and Burns would be the odd man out. I also thought Shelton would be cut in favor of Lawton.... and I still think Lawton will come off the practice squad at some point this season and perhaps make Shelton expendable. I still don't know why Burns is still on the roster... I can't see any measurable or appreciable contribution this guy makes. Someone must see something.

Let's assume the Bills don't go to the post season party... and finish, say 7-9. Purely hypothetical... because the Bills could go 11-5 or 5-11. I tend to think they'll be closer to 5-11 than 11-5... but that's beside the point. So, we're assumin 7-9 here... When Donahoe and Mularkey sit down with Ralph at his Florida mansion in January, what do you think will be, or, should be the outcome of that meeting? How does this team move forward?

Get a lawyer now and consult with him. You're in deep doo-doo if you've had your license for only a year and are under 25. If you get points for speeding, not only does it move you a little closer to suspension, but you will take a huge hit on your insurance cost over the next 3 years... perhaps as much as $500 per year. An attoney will try to plea it down in lieu of you taking a safe driving course... or fight it by summining training records of the cop, calibration records of the radar gun, etc, etc. and dragging it out til it ultimately gets dismissed... in the end you may end up paying the lawyer $1500, but you avaoid the points on your license and increaded insurance fees. You have to weigh what is better for you.

Now, as I understand it, the completion date is in the contract and the contract is the instrument that spells out the terms and conditions of the construction. If the terms and agreements have been broken by either party then there are grounds for legal action. At best, again, AT BEST, you could perhaps see the bledsoe of two years ago for the first 6 or seven games... until other teams figure out how they're protecting him and how the Bills offense works. All bledsoe has to do is hand the ball to TH and that would suffice.... but NO, he will revert back to himself and won't resist audibling on a 3rd and 2 and attempt a pass and get sacked instead of doing the right thing. Dude... I don't know why you needed to go there, but the "on the record facts" are that pi$$ poor intelligence by several country's intelligence gathering.
