  1. Dude... Matthews was never 4th string. He wasn't brought in until Travis Brown got injured. The Bills went into the last preseason game with Bledsoe, Matthews and Zolman. When the dust settled, the Bills kept 3 QBs on their roster... 1) Bledsoe 2) Matthews 3) Losman Now Matthews is only 3 carreer percentage points worse than Bledsoe and, as I mentioned in an earlier post, he didn't have the advantage of playing with a LT or cneter with the pedigree of Armstrong and Wolobaugh, nor a TE like Ben Coactes, RB like Curtis Martin, or a wr like Terry Glen to pad his stats. And, he didn't have a coach like Bill Parcells to prop him up. Yeah, Matthews is sad.. but not any worse than Bledsoe. And I'll bet you he'd be better than Bledsoe under center for the Bills right now. Bledsoe is finished... stick a fork in him... he's got 3 games max as the Bills starter.
  2. What riddle???? 1) Bledsoe sets up slow 2) He's only gonna be in one spot when he sets up (front 7 can tee off) 3) Makes pis poor decisions and does not think/process info quickly 4) throws beautiful passes down field. 5) has little to no touch on passes under 15 yards 6) pathetic in the red zone 7) no intangibles 8) not a leader by any stretch of the immagination 9) no passion for winning
  3. hey, hey, hey.... we'll have none of this.. these post belong in the Bledsoe Apologies thread.
  4. Yo Fez... FYI, Matthews carrer QB rating aint that much different from Bledsoe's... and Matthews didn't pad his stats behind a line that featured Bruce Armstrong and Dave Wolobaugh and a running back like Curtis Martin, Tight end like Ben Coates, and a wr like Terry Glenn. At worst things would be the same under Matthews. Anyway, the curtain comes down on the Bledsoe era after he blows the New England game on 11/14. At that point, with a 1-8 record and 3 home games left, Bledsoe will be playing before any empty house at the Ralph... enter J.P Losman to put bodies back in the seats... mark it down... 11/21... the Rams.
  5. Time for the weekly Bledsoe if and or but medley. Post the excuses here.
  6. First congrats to your Bosox Secondly... get your fans ready for Nov. 14... that is Bledsoe's "fare thee well" game. That game will be his last as a starter for the Bills... he becomes a reliever from 11/21 on... and I suspect he will either be traded to some team that has a stupid GM or cut... either in March or June... either that or take a 75% paycut. Anyway... what do you Pats fans have planned for him? I think it would be a shame for Belechick to once again get inside Drew's head... that would be so humiliating.
  7. this just in Mark IV... I've been saying this for the past month. 11/21... mark it down on your calendar.
  8. Come on Tolstoy.... share some of whatever you're smoking. Talent? Mularkey, not dumb? he took the bills job didn't he?
  9. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, i'll bet that'll scare ricky. might even change about coming back. btw... we're all whores... we just have diffferent standards (how much $$$ will it take).
  10. I hate to disappoint you, but Edelin is going to have to be a role player this year. The kid is good to have if you have 3 bonafide deep shooters in the lineup... Syracuse doesn't have that with Edelin in there. If Edelin plays, that means someone is going to sit... either McCrosky, Nichols, Gmac, Josh Wright the freshman PG or Dayshawn Wright the swingman coming in from Oak Hill. Edelin's been a pain in the ass since he's signed... right out of the gate he gets tossed from school for assaluting a female student. Then he gets into trouble academically, and now, after just up and pulling a "Ricky Williams" on the team last spring (or should I say Ricky Williams pulled a Billy Edelin) and leaving on the cusp of the Big East tournament and the NCAAs, he wants to come back? What kind of stevestojan is that? This kid is a head case and the Cuse is better off without him. Apparently, Edelin must have attended the DeSean Williams School of Behavior. As far as Forth... he is what he is... and that is a big slow white boy that basically clogs up the middle, sets good picks & screens, passes well,... occaisionally gets a rebound, blocks a shot, and makes a shot... you know, your typical career 6 pt. 6 reb. /game role player... I don't care how much he works out or practices... he ain't gonna be much better than he is... basketball is not his number one priority and once he leaves SU, even though he could play spaghetti ball overseas, my guess is that he'll move onto to being a special ed teacher or child psycologist. He's got a good head on his shoulders and loves children... but don't expect more than the usual from him this season... SU has too many better players that need to have the ball.
  11. WTF?.... What about injured players for the jags and jets?... I mean the Jets D could sure use sam cowart and the 2 starters in their secondary. Why cry about injured players... every team gets them and you've got to play with the cards that have been dealt to you. Why even bother with this type of stevestojan? Does this make you feel better somehow? The Bills record is 1-4, that's what they are.... period.... no ifs, no buts, no ands.... Ask the Pats how they deal with injured players? They just win Superbowls... with or without them.
  12. what do bone daddy have to do to for the sox to win a world series?
  13. marcus jones.... just another name in the line of worthless retreads that Donahoe brings in.... McKenzie, Farris, Gibson, Eddie Brown, Beasly, Gildon... you get the picture.
  14. no brainer... Chester Taylor. Bills defense gave up big yds. to Sammy Morris and the pitiful Dolphin offense... I've got a feeling that Schobel is in for one helluva long day against Jonathan Ogden.
  15. I would add to this... After the Bills D got smoked on either game ending or game securing drives for 3 of their 5 games, how may of us fans were confident that the D would have held up against the Dolhins if the offense had not sealed the deal and kept the ball away from the dolphins? Speaking for myself, had the dolphins gotten the ball back with under 3 minutes left and the wind at their backs... I would have been stevestojaning my drawers. Bottom line.... as you indicate, this defense is not as good as everyone thinks and I think part of their problem is the defensive line, but a bigger problem is the secondary... I view them as average at best... with Milloy and Vincent slightly better... they just have no one with consistent big play ability on either the Dline or secondary.
  16. Interesting, because back around 1980 when Wyche was QB coach in SF, Steve Deberg was the starting QB. But, through the first 3/4 of the season when the 49ers got in the red zone they would pull Deburg out and put in some rookie named Montana. This Montana kid ended up starting the last 4 games or so and almost dashed the Bills hopes of an AFC East regular season title. Bledsoe's days are numbered... we all know that, but the one thing we've never seen in Buffalo is a "platoon" type concept with a QB... by that I mean bringing in a different QB depending on the situation rather than a QB stinking out the house or getting injured.
  17. It's stevestojan like this statement that clouds the issue. Yeah... CBS showed TH sitting on the bench all bundled up.... period!!!! no pouting, no drama... that's the stevestojan that you put in your own head and are now telling everyone it's reality. The WM/TH saga will work itself out... fair and square.
  18. Now there are some words of pure wisdom. Could we maybe even say we are a 1-4 team that could just as easily be 0-5??? Please... the Bills are a 1-4 team. Leave it there... because, last I checked, that's what their record is. And every time someone mentions to me anything about a 1-4 team, the first thing that comes to mind is... "geezuz, they must suck".
  19. Let me see if I've got this right... the O line played terrific yesterday and the offense put up 13 points (with the wind at their backs nonetheless) against the 27th ranked run defense and you see a "w" on the road against a better defense? Nothing like putting things in perspective. Sorry to piss in your cornflakes.
  20. Wow! The Bills just held on to beat an 0-5 team at home and a bunch of posters are calling for... Henry to be traded Adams to be cut Smith to be replaced by pPice when Jonas comes back WM to be annointed as the second coming of Thermal Can we get a grip here? I mean we're taikng about an 0-4 team holding on to beat a 0-5 team at home. This is time to feel a little relief, not like a new era has begun. We can think like that when we see 3 and for "w"s in a row. Baltimore is next... and minus their star offensive player. I don't have a "warm and fuzzy" that the Bills are going to come away with a "w". Should I?
  21. In the second quarter, the Bills, going into a stiff wind were facing a 4th and 11 on the Dolphins 25 yard line. They elected to attempt a field goal (43 yards) rather than going for it on 4th down. I thought it was a "no brainer to go for it for two reasons.... 1) Lindell is maybe 50/50 to hit a 43 yarder on a good day, and I've got no confidence that he can hit one like that with a stiff wind in his face.... 2) Even if you just hand the ball off and get nowhere, it's harder for a team to drive 75 yards than 67 yards... As fate would have it, Mularkey sends in Lindell to miss a 43 yarder and give possesion to Miami on the Buffalo 33 and then allowed them to drive 67 yards for a TD. I realize that the ensuing drive by the Dolphins may not have had a different outcome than if they'd started that drive at the 25 rather than the 33. But, I still don't think Mularkey made the right decision by sending Lindell in. Anyone else question this move?
  22. Let not your heart be troubled my dear Fezmid. there are plenty of scanners available.... even for less than 100 bucks that you can purchase.... staples, walmart, etc. that have the capaqbility to scan negatives and slides. HP is a decent one for under $100. The one thing you want to do if you scan any negatives or slides is to scan them at 1200 DPI because they're so small. However, get ready to touch them up in Adobe Photoshop or other, because you won't believe the number of artifacts that show up in the photo when it's blown up to where you can actually see every detail. good luck
  23. U got it wromg. 50,000 max because we suck. If the Bills were 4-0 and -10 degrees outside that stadium would be full.
