  1. Let me see if I've got this right... Punishing defense? would this be the same punishing defense that gave up an 80 yard winning TD drive to the Jags including 4 4th downs? and the same punishing defense that gave up 24 points at home to the Pats? How many times was Brady sacked? Mediocre offense? averaging 10 points per game? That's mediocre? that's putrid! The Bills need to avg. about 6 more points /game before I'd call their offense mediocre.
  2. He was out of work and needed the job and Teflon Tom needed a FB that wouldn't ask to be paid more than the NFL minimum.
  3. I see no reason, based on their 0-3 start, that the Bills will beat the Jets in the Meadowlands Sunday.... and I'm not even sure the Bills will beat the Dolphins the following week...I guess that game will hinge on which team's QB gives the other team the "W"... since our "D" can't muster a pass rush and the Fins D can, advantage Miami. So if we chalk up a "W" against Arizona and another "L" aginst the Jets at home, that puts the Bills at 1-6, possibly 2-5 going into New England on Nov. 14... and I guarantee another "L" there. So at that point I've got the Bills at 1-7 or 2-6. With home games remaining against the Rams, Browns and Steelers, how do the Bills put people in the stands that late in the season with virtually minimal or no playoff implications? Certainly Browns and Steelers fans will to travel to the Ralph. So, Teflon Tom will pull off another marketing coup. He will go talk to Mularkey after the New England loss and lift the "no bench" ban on Bledsoe and give Mularkey the greenlight to play JP Lossman. I guarantee, that will be the marketing tool the Bills need to get the fans intersted again and fill the seat.... However, this maneuver is going to backfire on Teflon Tom. JP will actually move the offense and score points and win games.... something Teflon Tom wants to keep to a minimum. And no longer will the fans be whining about the offensive line, receivers, or rbs. Instead, it will reveal what a huge mistake Teflon Tom made in aquiring Bledsoe... and how every offensive breakdown and inability to move the football directly points back to Bledsoe. How he wasted a few more million $$$ of Ralph's money on re-signing Bledsoe, and what might have been if the coaching staff were allowed to play Matthews from the beginning of the season til after the next New England game when JP is fully prepared to takeover the reigns.
  4. Here we have a GM who's had 4 drafts and yielded 7 starters on both sides of the ball... 8 if you count Bledsoe. In these 4 drafts, he's drafted 15 players in the first 3 rounds, five of which have distinguished themselves... if you count Mike Williams, and I don't know of any Bills fan that thinks he's lived up to being a #4 overall draft selection. His major FA aquisitions have been Fletcher, Spikes, Milloy, and Vincent... 2 of the 3 are good pickups. We don't know yet about Vincent. Milloy... What has he done for us... no picks.. quite a few missed tackles... and at around $4M.YR., a waste of money. On offense he aquired Teague, Vallerial, Lindell, and Shaw. Anyone happy with that group? The best player I think Teflon Tom acqurired was Brian Moorman... and that's said when the best compliment you can give the guy is his pick up of a punter. His best move in terms of marketing was Bledsoe... all of the fans were jacked... but, from a "football" perspective, the Bledsoe pickup was a disaster. And re-signing Bledsoe was just throwing away good money after bad money. I know many of you will say Bledsoe played well yesterday... if you look at the numbers, but I see a guy that takes a full second longer to set up, a guy that does not have exceptional ball handling skills, fakes, ability to "sell" a play. I see a guy that has his feet so far apart in the pocket that he can't "tap dance" just enough to buy an extra half. second to avoid a rush and get a pass off. I see a guy that, even when reeivers are open and he has time to thow, overthrows or under throws. I see a guy who has a very low rate of TD success in the redzone. I see a guy who makes huge errors in judgement in the redzone, as in fumbling, taking a sack, and throwing picks. Teflon Tom's biggest gaffe was the hiring of Gregg Williams... and then to follow that up with another rookie HC in Mularkey was plain stupid. All I know is that Teflon Tom has done a horrendous job of assembling a football team. However, from a purely economic perspective, Teflon Tom has pulled of a Houdini. How he can continue to fill a stadium week after week when this team is bascially the equivalent of the 84-85 vesion of the Bills. He must have taken a page out of PT Barnum... or even Vince McMahon's memoirs. This team sucks and is not even entertaining to watch...and it sure does not have what it takes to win football games. Well, Teflon Tom's contract is up after next season... if all Ralph cares about is the economic end of things, he'll extend his contract. But, if Ralph is about winning, then he must kick the Teflon man to the curb. Can anyone, in all honesty, say that the biggest problem with this team is squarely on Teflon Tom's shoulders?
  5. yeah... Staples, Office Depot, Best Buy, Walmart. Get the least expensive one you can... they'll all do what you want them to do. If you're really anal and have to have the best of the best, go to ZDNET and see what they say.
  6. First of all, good synopsis on Sunday's game. Now, let's fast forward to Monday. My questions... What if the Bills go 0-3. What do they need to do to rebound from 0-3? Do they have a legitimate shot at the playoffs?
  7. Drew, playing poorly? You think? Drew's dragging the team down. You and many others have to get over this Drew Bledsoe "myth"... the guy had 4 out of 11 decent years and only once got an 87 QB rating... hell Favre's carrer QB rating is equal to Bledsoe's best season.
  8. Now come on Mike... I didn't say that. I said Ihope it is Bledsoe's last meanigful game. That could be that he get's yanked in favor of Matthews. Not hoping for a Bills loss, but I'm definitely not expecting a Bills win. It's OK to be an optimist. But, I'm a realist, and Belichick knows how to get into a QBs head... especially Bledsoe's, and he's going to do it again on Sunday. The only chance the Bills have is if they play smash mouth against the Pats and run Travis 30+ times and then turn Mcgahee loose on a tired Pats defense.
  9. and here is a little more info. They haven't released the name though. http://www.wstm.com/Global/story.asp?S=2370088&nav=2aKCRUR9
  10. here's a link http://www.wtvh.com/story.asp?stid=9550 I thought I heard something on the news this morning... they didn't release the name, but I think the police chased him through three counties before the accident... at least that's what I thought I heard
  11. If they need this kind of motivation to get them to play then they shouldn't even be in the league.
  12. No, no! I've already gone on record twice stating that my belief is that Losman will start against the Rams on 11/21. I don't think he should start before he's physically ready to and before having at least 3 weeks of practice. I also think that if he's ready to play by 10/17, they should get him a few snaps in each game.
  13. Hindsight is 20-20, but, damnit... I can't argue with this at all. THis is a defining year for big Mike. If he doesn't cut it this year, he ain't gonna ever.
  14. you're gonna wake up on Monday morning extremely pessimistic.
  15. you can certainly ask them to, but, as you said, they have hands of stone and you can't draw blood from a stone. So...if you expect "them" to catch, it aint gonna happen... This offense was put together to play smash mouth football... and they can't even do that, let alone be expected to launch an aerial assault.
  16. So, what!!! Drew knows how do do all of them, but either doesn't do them or doesn't do them very well. You're still missing the point here... Drew Bledsoe will not get this team to .500 this year, let alone the playoffs in the best case scenario. And I guarantee you that. JP, at worst, will not get this team to .500 this year. What does the team gain by continuing to go with Bledsoe, and in the process, continue to piss off the ofensive player and certainly the fans. And JP has lost a great opportunity to gain experience in live action in a season in which the Bills are not going to the playoffs... unless JP takes them there. This team is not going to get better with Bledsoe in there....
  17. Dude... I respect where you're coming from on this... I really do. However, I've got to tell you... Drew is the problem and JP is the cure. I'm telling you now that if Drew is at QB, you may as well as give up on the season. Defensive coordinators around the league know Drew's game and how to defend him. The margin for error for every player on offense while Drew is at QB is "nil" because he can't improv nor make quick and correct decisions. Continuing to play Bledsoe is going to literally cut the heart out of the players around him, if it hasn't already. Now, onto JP. The kid is basically Fltuie with size and an arm. His comments re: the coach saying we're good and JP saying essentially, "yeah, right, we're good when we start playing good"... shows me that this kid is ready and wants to take this team on his shoulders. His infusion of enthusiasm, bravado, ability to improv will be infectious to this offense. The players around him will begin to have a bounce in their step, a swagger, an aura of confidence, and will reflect his personality. The defense will take a few more chances as well knowing that the offense can carry it's share of the load... and special teams will begin to get better.... and maybe even Lindell. Believe me, JP will take the Bills farther than will Drew will... and this year. There are bumps in the road, of course. If Mularkey ain't willing to take the risk then he doesn't deserve to be a coach in this league. Tough and brazen decisions begin with the coach.... and who would have thought that a guy named Tom Brady, just going into his 2nd season as a pro would unseat Bledsoe as a starter, let alone take them to the SB?
  18. dude... you should've given up Griffen instead of Henry. Griffen is having a problem holding onto the football and as a result Tatum Bell and Hearst are seeing more touches, which, of course, means less touches for Griffen.
  19. already put my 2 cents last week. Losman won't start against NE... they will give bledsoe up for that. They're not gonna let JP get his feet wet against NE in NE. However, As I stated last week. Circle the calendar for November 21st at home against the Rams... Bills win and go on to run the table... alas, a 9-7 record with only 1 and perhaps 2 wins within the division keeps them home for the post season party.
  20. if the bills keep playing like this i'm gonna jump! Off a 10 story building
  21. This is sounding a lot like John Kerry. Can we beat NE? Yes... but not only would we have to play a perfect game, NE would have to be real sloppy and bringing their "C" game. Will we beat NE? No. This team doesn't have the "mental toughness" to do the things necessary to win games...especially on offense. The offensive leadership, which primarily comes from Bledsoe, does not exude confidence or toughness, nor does inspire those attributes. He also doesn't have what it takes to win games. I'd just for once like to see Bledsoe get "nasty"... get his guys "fired up". If Bledsoe can't do it, then someone else has to step up as a leader... like TO did, or Emmit Smith... and the old Buffalo Bills, when Kelly and Thurman would step up. It comes down to pride. I don't see the pride in playing and winning that we had in the old Bills. Henry is as close as a leader as I see and he only leads by physically being tough and playing hurt. I don't see Moulds as a leader... he's more inot making excuses and avoiding controversy. I don't even see a "gritty" offensive lineman like Hull or Ritcher. Sad to see how this once proud organization can drop to the depths we have.... Aside from maybe JP Losman, it's as if we have a bunch of spineless, kitty, chicken ***** for players on the offensive side of the ball... does anyone see any "grit" or "nasty" on offense? please let me know. Until we get someone with a nasty streak, the Bills ain't going to go anywhere. Damn, I'd have liked to see the Bills draft Jake Grove... even though it would have taken him a couple of years to pay off... but JP, I believe is definitely a step in the right direction... you can just see this guy has "it". And I think they need to plug this guy in as soon as he's healthy... no spoon feeding. He's too good for that crap.
  22. Keep Ruben? Are you kidding? Donahoe will not have a player on his roster that questions a coach or GM. And Vallerial? Yeah, he turned out to be a real bargain... the missing piece, er, uh, was that Evans?
  23. spending extra $$$ isn't the answer. The answer is evaluating talent better. It would appear to me that this Donahoe-Modrak tandem is a"myth". I know hindsight is 20-20, but Williams over McKinnie? McGahee over Steinbach? Giving up a 3rd round pick to leap frog ahead of Pittsburg to get Denney? That's as much as saying the guy is a first rounder. Denney's an OK player, but given how he was acquired, he hasn't met my expectations... is it his fault or was Donahoe-Modrak wrong?
  24. So you're suggesting that we "check or brain at the door" before we come into the message baord and comment? wouldn't that kinda be like the "stepford Bills fans"? So, you suggest anyone but lemmings be bannned from this board to keep you happy? will saying positive things about a poor team make them a great team or just keep your psyche intact?
