I think it's Wilkerson will probably be back on the ps or possibly kj hamler I wonder if they'll try to get another veteran pass rush guy if we qualify for the playoffs As long as it's before the game it counts as one of the 4 required to my knowledge. Bye weeks don't count -

Tyrell Shavers reminds me of John Stallworth....

It's extremely common for top picks to prove they can't play. It's the opposite with lower picks Shavers took the most snaps at the x wr position Sunday. He's Wr1/ Target#1 right now until Kincaid is back imo It more or less happened with Kyle Williams 5th and mccargo 1st Andre Reed 4th and Chris Burkett 2nd JJ stokes 1st & Terrell Owens 3rd Rod Smith was undrafted, Marcus Nash was a 1st Rd pick for Denver in the late 90s Tom Brady 6th, Bledsoe 1st Elam & Benford, Stevie Johnson etc It's extremely common If he was still viewed as wr 5, he wouldn't be listed as a starter on ourlads, featured by the bills organization this week by Chris Brown, or leading the team in snaps last week. In other words he beat out Coleman. For an organization in 1 year to move on from their top pick for an undrafted guy says something. It says a lot about Coleman but it also says a ton about Shavers... But it's obviously still soon and maybe it's just a flash or whatever. My eyes tell me he's a special talent and he reminded me of John Stallworth. Obviously I could end up looking silly lol Imo if he was just a guy, he would be getting less snaps, and Gabe / Palmer would be the main guys. The traits are definitely there. During the preseason and in camp I thought he was the best wr on the team but I didn't say anything. After Sunday I'm starting to think I'm right... But you're correct it's hyperbolic and premature right now and more just a fun comparison I'm very interested to see what happens tonight with more pressure and against some good corners. If he lights it up tonight all bets are off imo. If he's 1 on 1 with Lassiter who runs 4.65, I think they're going to go deep more than once on him with Shavers. I also don't think it's a coincidence that basically all the wide receivers changed and then the passing game exploded... Shavers leading in snaps, Palmer back, Gabe & some Hardman -

Buffalo vs Houston 1989 Kelly to Reed in ot -
The Coleman & Carter picks look like busts. But I really like Bishop, Davis, Grable and Solomon. Solomon has pass rush traits that could continue to develop. I want to see how he develops over the next couple years. Grable looks like a possible starter at guard next year imo. Davis imho is solid insurance for Cook. As we saw against the jets in 24. Bishop looks great. The wildcard pick is Clayton in a couple years.... That's not something to just dismiss If Bishop, Grable become high level starters & Solomon can at minimum develop into a decent pass rush specialist That's a good draft for mist gms. But the Coleman pick is terrible and embarrassing

Maybe it's just receny bias but I got a great feeling about our offense tonight. I know the Texans defense is really good but I think something unlocked against Tampa. Just a gut feeling Let's go Buffalo!! -
If the bills put a wr on ir, sign Gabe to the 53 obviously. But I would be interested in KJ Hamler coming back to the ps. Still very fast, return ability and good locker room guy. I think he would be good depth.

Overall rushing volume is extremely misleading. Rushing dvoa or how your run defense plays in high leverage moments is more relevant. A good example is vs KC right before the half this year. That was a key run stop in a high leverage moment. At the end of the day if you're Scoring very fast with a QB passing the football like Allen, you're creating more possessions for yourself. If the other team is running the football, it may take a very long time in theory for them to score. Creating less possessions for our opponents. We lost the rushing battle We lost the turnover battle We lost the time of possession battle Yet we won by 12.... If we get just one more 3rd down stop & Hardman doesn't fumble, we probably win by 20+.... Volume rushing stats, turnovers and time of possession are boomer talking points that are largely for teams without a real qb & counterintuitive Obviously our run defense needs to improve, obviously you don't want to turn the ball over tho... But this is why everyone was so mad after the dolphins game with 12-15 plays, the constant check downs and tunnel screens. It's counterintuitive but you're playing into your opponent's hands. And you make every single mistake or turnover 10x worse playing that way. I remember Kelly vs the Bengals in 91 had 3 1st half ints. He still threw 5 tds and they won like 35-10 or something You play football with a level of aggression and urgency to win, and win quickly/ decisively. You don't play football with the mindset of worrying about your defense or worrying about turnovers. Marv levy had to force himself to get comfortable with this mindset. So does McDermott. Not saying they should never run the football or never have games where they use ball control offense. Both are important...I'm saying the game vs Tampa Bay should be their foundational identity

Wr1- Shavers ( next John Stallworth) Wr2- Shakir ( next Andre Reed) slot/ yac guy Wr3- Palmer Wr3/4- Big game Gabe Wr5- Moore Plus you can mix in Ty Johnson once in a while at wr with his 4.3 speed Then you have Samuel & Hardman who can fly that will be back in a week or two for depth Can Someone tell me where Coleman fits in for the rest of the season because I don't see it....

Brandin cooks was just released. I'd be more interested in him possibly
