I dont disagree there... If McD gets the right staff and incorporates them, changes and doesnt just rest on the tried and true he has a shot... Marv was loyal to a fault and it bit him because he didnt have the tactical ability (just watching Dallas and Washington build those Olines and his answer was Jeff Wright... year after year... ), he was and epic leader and motivator, but no one will confuse him with Bill B lol... He would have been fine if he would have had those pieces. And yet... I cried too LOL... but I was in my 20s...

agreed and like me if you went thru it and went to your first Super Bowl game because of it it was an amazing time. I have debated this one for years with friends and family... we have yet to all come to consensus LOL... probably never will.. one more thing... Marv was a great guy in person just a wonderful and engaging man would see him all the time at McKenzie's in Hamburg. But alas.. I fall on the very good not epic side of the opinion.

Oh man brings back memories he would come into our corner of the end zone and jaw with us it was awesome... especially cause most times he didn't say sh!t when the game was over

Who was your all-time favorite player that was NOT on the Bills?

Ok I gotta throw in Andy Dalton just for beating the Ravens on a last second play sending us to the playoffs... -
Lord I hope so... we could use a big hit in the 2nd rd like a DK

New Pardon My Take with Josh Allen and Blake Griffin
JP51 replied to Toomstone.Part.Duex's topic in The Stadium Wall
loved that -
I wish him luck except against us... his two returns for TDs against the Pats after the Damar incident were electric. Those two plays alone situationally will have a place in Bills lore for a long time.

truer words... when I did my list I was like.... Ok Warlick yes... Metzalaars... uhm... Gant? Geez not really, Paul Seymour? Uhm no not really, Lonnie Johnson LOL... nyet, Mark Brammer? Jay Remiersma? Butch "Shake Rattle and" Rolle... nope... Like who do you put there... Heck I would take Knox and Kincaid at this point over pretty much all of them save Warlick Metz and Gant....

To bad he blew his knee, he was excellent Love me some LS! I agree

I am convinced that is just a popularity contest... I do think Lamar is a remarkable player... but I wonder if push came to shove if those people who think he was the best wouldnt take Allen in a straight up trade. I certainly wouldnt take Lamar in a straight trade for Allen... And yes, him winning the MVP was a popularity contest I think. I dont think that award is steeped in reality. just my opinion.

I said the same thing. I think he was a very good coach, but was badly out coached in the SB. I think a number of other coaches would have won at least one. He was an overseer to me of his coaching staff and outside of Marchibroda who was an innovator had a very poor staff. In fact I dont think even 1 of his other coaches during the superbowl years even got another job outside the organization at the same level after they left let alone a promotion. Usually, Assistants and Co Ordinators of Super Bowl teams are pirated with regularity. This was very telling to me. Certainly not a bad coach, in fact a very good one who was blessed with an extra ordinary team with 5 Hall of fame players and 3 others that need to be considered ( Hull, Bennett, Tasker) ... Very good coach... Hall of Fame... not to me.

I think injuries are always a wild card for sure all things being consistent I think that the increased focus on the run game has one logical result so my thought is the way to eliminate the logical result of an increased focus on the run is if situationally we have to abandon it based on our need to catch up. That being said yes we sustain injuries to Cook Davis Johnson etc that clearly will have a negative effect

I will never forget the fire in the stands...I remember laughing... they were burning the stands.... lol

True this... I go back to Joe D and I was young... Never saw Stratton, Byrd, McDole, Warlick ,Kemp, Shaw, Dunaway or Cookie play... I just have the ravings of my father and uncles to rely on... Although I have watched Strattons hit on Lincoln on you tube a million times so I guess I saw him play... one play... LOL...

They were and then Mark Maddox I believe Cowart Rogers and Maddox called themselves the "Bruise Brothers" LOL... I hesitated on Paup only because today he would be defined as an "Edge Rusher" but back then he was an LB with minimal coverage duties LOL... but he rolled 19 sacks that year still a team record I believe.
-
Couple of other LBs could be considered.... Spikes, Haslett, Sam Rogers, Shane Nelson, Eugene Marve, Spielman, Paup.... lots of good ones over the years. We posted literally at the same time lol with some of the same players.

Interesting thought for sure... even an old Fred was better than Wright as an NT

Love your call on this and the breadth of coverage over the years ... just for fun I wanna throw a couple names out.. no right or wrong here... OG - Take out Brown Insert Reggie McKenzie FB - Take out Gash put in Mueller or Carwell Gardener T - Take out Fina put in Peters CB - Take out Clements put in Romes S - leave the list put in Steve Freeman I agree here... Jeff Wrights play against the run was about as bad as it could get... yes, he got gap penetration... but I wonder if I could you the OP could get free if you were playing with Bruce Smith and Cornelius Bennett rushing the passer LOL

So did it take 36 hours for Keon to complete the day LOL 🤣
