John Elway admits Josh Allen was his biggest regret
JP51 replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
QBs are so tough to get right I remember passing on Russell Wilson twice and not gonna lie didn't want him. I remember Marino lasting to 27 and of course the anomalies of Brady, Kurt Warner and even to an extent Romo. Sometimes you just gotta keep buying tickets. Heck I remember the people that thought Leaf should went before Manning lol -
Pegula imploring Beane and McD to get Allen to embrace a CEO role?
JP51 replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agreed 100% he must learn how to be an effective leader... Not that my life makes any difference here, but I lead a large group of people, I am learning this skill daily it never stops just like anything else you do... nothing ever stays stagnant, you move forward or you move back. He needs to focus on this and learning his craft like any of us do. Being a top 3 QB isnt good enough, he needs to be a top 3 leader as well... its time that he gave his leadership skills some time and attention, as everyone will benefit. -

Well said, my hope is that he matures and takes charge (within his authentic self) especially with the spector of Diggs being gone. The team, himself, and hopefully the record will benefit from it. I think at this point to take the next step, this will be required. I think the good news is that there is a re tooling going on with a lot of newer players looking for more leadership him filling that void will go a long way in the transformation of the team. Not necessarily sure that "chewing out" is required... unless of course he is disposed to that. There are ways outside of that to hold people accountable... and he should hopefully do that in his way... but yes however it gets done, it needs to happen. -

Oh, I couldnt agree more about it being a skill that needs to be taught, learned and refined based on experience. There is innateness too it as well as some peoples default is to lead and this is true with Josh and I would say most QBs that are successful. However, exactly as you stated it needs to be learned and understood. I always say in our business world we take people who are good at tasks and make them leaders and yet never train them or show them how. I think from my perspective successful leadership is about applying those learned leadership skills to your authentic self and innate ability to lead... because if you try to be something you are not, you will fail. and lastly yes, it should not require you lose your youthful enthusiasm, in fact that was the point at least for me. That is who JA is, they should not look to change that in him (back to authentic self) -
The Training Camp Enthusiasm for the Offense Thread
JP51 replied to WhitewalkerInPhilly's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think I am optimistic to see the continuation of Brady's offense that seemed to really get untracked in the 2nd half of the season. Additionally, how Josh moves into the role of true leader and doesn't need to feed one person to theoretically keep them happy which I felt Dorsey's offense over did a bit. I also wonder if they give JA increased responsibility/control at the line to call his own plays and audible. Not that he doesn't do some of that now... but more of a game plan/Philosophy. -
Willie Anderson says the Blind Side is keeping him out of the HOF
JP51 replied to stuvian's topic in The Stadium Wall
So I have a couple thoughts here... I think he truly does believe this but its probably more of a rationalization as to why he hasn't been let in yet, as well as him keeping his name out there for consideration in hopes of getting a bit of a groundswell of support in the court of public opinion... I think the movie drew attention to the blind side for sure, but definitely also drew attention to the importance of OL play as a whole. Not sure this actually hurt him. Last, I think the people who are voting for those who will be inducted would likely not be swayed in their opinion on the importance of right and left side line play based on a Sandra Bullock movie. Wishing him a speedy recovery.

Should we be concerned about Milano in pass coverage this year?
JP51 replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall
I am with you here... I am hopeful he can recover and become the game wrecker he was. But each injury takes a toll not sure how many more he can sustain. But we sure could use his dominance at LB this year. -

You wanna see someone fail as a leader... make them change into something that they are not... these are grown men and professionals and can smell bs a mile away. People lead with many different styles. But the most effective lead by example in within their own authentic personality. That being said, I would say I would like to see Josh naturally mature so that his leadership is well a bit more focused and driving... But no I dont want him to lose his youthful enthusiasm for the game... that to me is fun to watch... -
How much money would Jack Kemp make in the modern day NFL?
JP51 replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall
With Ralph as the owner lol... 20mm a year -
I agree here I think he at minimum finds his way to the practice squad Don't disagree here....

These numbers are insane I don't envy Beane in making the decision to hang on or lock it down.

I'm really starting to love this WR room. We quietly got better
JP51 replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree on paper that there is no true 1 on this team currently. I do have hope that what is currently on the roster can produce and hopefully find a breakout guy that takes the one spot much like Stevie Johnson did way back. But there is a lot of ifs and probably alot of growing pains imo -
Kim Pegula is Attending Practice Today
JP51 replied to Slippery Rubber Mats's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not a Dr but i do have experience with this type of thing. Improving can happen but it happens slowly and in baby steps. I would say that she got up an walked and did the Bills 123 is significant improvement over last year when she was just in the SUV. Like I said I am not a Dr and none of us know what exactly the issue is. I think all we can do is pray she continues to improve but brain injuries can be tough. But she seems determined to be the best she can be. God Bless her. -
I agree I would follow it

Post of the day lol 😆 I agree here and I think he was fortunate last year not getting hurt. I Won't believe he isn't injury prone until I see him rattle off a couple years of staying healthy. I think he got rid of the ball much quicker last year. Now teams will adjust to that. How will he respond

Let us hope

Oh this has the makings of an epic fail ... one can only hope

QB2 is a problem and has been ignored for years
JP51 replied to Milanos Milano's topic in The Stadium Wall
Love this topic tbh I have always been a proponent of finding your next starter early. I was calling for the Bills to start finding Kelly's successor in 93. But Josh isn't 3 or 4 years away from fading out and we have too many other needs. As far as a backup goes... I think Trubisky has starting experience in the league and will have to manage a game if he has to go in. But let's face it 17 goes down for the season there isn't anyone out there as a back up gonna lead us to the promise land IMO nor do we have the open cap space to allocate a significant upgrade to that position. If we did it would be better spent on WR or Edge etc...
