McDermott is once again going to get exposed today when his defense (with guys he helped select) goes up against a top offense. Lions running backs and offensive line are legitimately going to be a huge issue. Our first round picks McDermott helped choose and praise a bit too much (Oliver , Rousseau) have been pretty invisible. Miller has been a non factor. Allen once again needs to go off for us to have a chance. Issue is Lions have a "hunt knee caps" mentality and have been playing very dirty. I don't want Allen running in this

Steelers arguably

Chiefs offense has struggled this year so not really a good example to pick. Dolphins offense is pretty damn good and we got lucky to beat them the second game thanks to Bass nailing a 60 yard field goal. Dolphins offense pretty much marched up and down the field on our defense when their offense was fully healthy (they punted like once that game). The Ravens offense destroyed our defense. Ravens are another very good offense this year. So did the Rams offense. Cardinals offense also scored quite a bit on us. Four good offenses we struggled with. Same story as in the past. Want to see good defensive play bail a team out repeatedly? Look at the Steelers.

Every single coach who has left Belichicks coaching team has been a failure elsewhere and has not replicated the success. It's not like the Shanahan coaching tree where multiple coaches have had success elsewhere (McVay with a super bowl for the Rams, Kyle Shanahan with multiple super bowl appearances with the 49ers with journeymen and a 7th round draft pick at QB, LeFleur in Green Bay with many post season runs, etc) When one takes that into account, it's clear it's pretty much all Belichick. Or else one of the guys who left him (McDaniels, Mangini, Crenel, Patricia, O Brien, etc) would have had a lot of success elsewhere. The only one who had some success was O Brien in Houston and he basically imploded that team after lucking into the rapist Watson (see trading Hopkins for a running back). McDaniels had multiple attempts with the Broncos and Raiders and his offenses were trash without Brady. Meanwhile Belichick got the Browns to the playoffs and a playoff victory without a great QB, the Patriots to multiple winning records without Brady, out coached the Bills offense to win a Super Bowl as a defensive coordinator for the Giants, etc.
