  1. I grew up in a rural small snowbelt WNY town and had to walk about a mile up my family's stone drive way (wooded drive way) to the bus stop and stand there in numerous snow storms for anywhere from 10 minutes to 40 minutes (bus driver was often late in the winter and drove like a maniac) due to my school never closing during a snow storm (sat on a bus for 3 hours one morning because we got stuck in the snow during a storm). There was no waiting inside for the bus to come and then walking out (like I see kids doing now)... So yes soft generation now a days....
  2. First world problems. When I lived overseas in Russia where I taught English, heat was turned off by the central heating authority in the summer (heat is pumped in to apartments by a central government location) so I had to take cold showers daily for months. The fact there's complaints about this from grown men is pure first world softness. America is going downhill.
  3. Sucks we are going to probably play a super motivated Eagles team after this and the refs looking to bail them out. Their offensive line is being taken behind the shed by the Eagles defensive line but just watch. It will be "fixed" (refs won't call holding) for our game
  4. Cardinals losing to the Texans, Raiders losing to the Dolphins, Broncos winning tonight and Jaguars winning really do hurt though. Broncos and Jaguars have tie breakers over us. Miami needs to start losing games if we are ever to catch them. And Texans are an AFC competitor that would have been nice losing today.......We really do need Miami to start losing now and these tiebreaker games
  5. If the Eagles don't beat the Chiefs tomorrow, talk about a ***** weekend when it comes to the playoff race....
  6. Cook has alot of speed at the running back position (very noticable how he moves faster than the other backs and is very smooth). We seriously need to feed the man with screens and getting him into space more. Brady made a career out of screens and swing passes to running backs and quick hits to tight ends and a solid receiver. Cooks along with Kincaid and Diggs can do that if schemed well
  7. Kincaid to me is our Kittle. Kittle always struck me as speedier than Kelce and more of a smooth route runner. Kincaid has more of that in his game and hardly ever drops passes as well. Best set of hands on the team imo.
  8. Dude is Aaron Maybin level at this point. I wish he would retire but not going to happen until we are done paying him.
  9. Shakir to me has always shown good hands for the football. I don't see him dropping much if anything which is a huge plus. The drop against Miami in the playoff game last year was a tough catch to make but other than that, haven't seen him with the dropsies like Davis and Knox. Smooth runner too and has shown good work getting open. I don't think he is a true number 2 but he could easily be our new Beasley if we continue to work him in and scheme well.
  10. One issue is a team can score on a play where there isn't clear evidence he cleanly and legally scored but because original call was a score, and there is no clear evidence to say he didn't cleanly and legally scored, play stands.
  11. Jets player should have been flagged according to the letter of the rules for the late hit on Dawkins on Dawkins flop. Could easily make the case for offsetting there. It's clear the refs were either rookies who didn't know the rules (I played football and was taught from day one, you don't hit someone after the whistle which the Jets player did/) or just didn't care to enforce then equally. The officials let the Jets get away with such dirty play all night. In a normal job, they should get pink slips right before the holidays and fired.
  12. Jets were playing dirty all nights with the post whistle extra curriculars. Fitting a team from Dirty Jersey would play like a team deserving of the image. A bunch of low class punks on that team and I'm glad the Bills didn't collapse to it like the first game.
  13. If the Bills make the playoffs, win a playoff game, and win at least 2 out of the 3 next games with the offense looking reborn and great, then I will be more of a believer. The Jets are a one dimensional team with a poor record (you are what your record says you are) and the Bills don't have a good history of consistently beating good teams with good performances from the offense and defense that are not the Dolphins the past few years. Dorsey had games like this as coordinator.
  14. Having an offensive game plan/strategy that actually works does amazing things for a team. Allen is much better than Cousins and Dobbs but his coaches dont use him as well as they can. It seems like the Vikings have the offensive side of the ball down solid which is significant in a modern offense first league. We are doing much less on the scoreboard despite having our number one receiver....
  15. Goodell and the NFL have a history of changing the game for the worse when a star protected player gets hurt (see Rodgers years ago against the Vikings which influenced the body weight rule). I expect someone to get hurt during this and the rule to change. The Eagles play the Chiefs this week. If a Chiefs player gets hurt, expect rule change.
  16. The players meeting was just as productive as many of my former professional development meetings I had as a former educator.........So the Bills aren't alone when it comes to unproductive meetings that just waste time.
  17. Bills 20 Jets 24 Bills take a 20-17 lead late on an Allen touchdown pass but Wilson leads the Jets down the field with refs throwing flags along the way to take a 24-20 win at the end with a QB run due to our defenders once again losing contain. McDermott then proceeds to fire the defensive line coach to try to save "the process" and blames the defensive line culture for the loss.
  18. Not a chance. Let's wait and see what the Texans do this year and if they even win a post season game before we jump the gun about how good they are. There is a reason why a season is 17 games and there is the truism that once teams get enough tape on a new coach and QB, things get figured out. Let's see how the league adjust to Stroud first.
  19. Franchise QBs have been known to have off years. Brees had his share. Rodgers and Rivers did. Farve did. Marino did. Jim Kelly had a rough 1994 season after the super bowl runs before turning it around some in 1995 and 1996. Etc. I consider this season a wash and new slate next year if the losing continues (though wins and losses is not exactly a fair QB stat as Allen has had top 5 numbers in many categories this year and has done enough for us to win most games ) We really do need to give him a solid number 2 receiver, better play calling and a better line..
  20. Regarding accountability. For being a so called defensive mastermind, McDermotts defenses have really taken advantage of weak teams over the past few years to pad their stats, and have been routinely exposed by good QBs, many times of which has led to Allen having to bail out the team with his top 5 numbers year in and year out. When we play good offenses, our defense largely collapses, unless it's Miami....This despite all the high draft picks and free agency pickups Beane has given McDermott, who clearly has an influence there. In 2021 the Bills beat the weak offenses of Washington, Atlanta, Carolina, Jets 2x , Miami 2x (pre Hill), Houston, New England, and New Orleans (injury decimated team at the time on a backup QB). Good offensive teams, such as the Colts, Titans, Bucs, Chiefs, etc killed us and we lost a game to the Patriots where they threw 2 whole passes because we couldn't stop the run everyone knew was coming. In 2022, the Bills beat the weak offenses of the Patriots twice, Jets once, Titans (tons of injuries at the time), Rams (Staffords arm was injured that game and he went out for year soon after...), Bears, Packers (Rodgers was washed then without receivers). They played ok but not really great (despite the investments) against the Lions, Browns, and Chiefs offenses in the regular season wins against those teams (Allen needed to perform a miracle against Detroit) and ok against the Dolphins in their win. Against offenses worth a damn, such as the Bengals 2x and the Vikings, we collapsed and the defense was abused by the Jets in the Jets win against us. Both years our defenses routinely lost games at the end when all we needed was a stop. This year is more of the same. Last time our defense was truly dominant was under Schwartz and look what he is doing in Cleveland. Schwartz is accountable and gets results on the defensive side of the ball. The Ravens have had injuries as well this year and their defense has been more accountable and good, with dominant performances against good offenses (see Lions as one example who were held to 3 despite their offense being very good this year finally). 49ers defense is very solid and dominant against good offenses (such as the Jaguars team that killed us which they held to 3). For years Belichick coached very good defenses that shut down good offenses (see both Rams Super Bowls as examples). McDermott doesn't have that track record.
  21. Sal is merely another cog in the Buffalo Bills Ministry of Truth and is their version of the old Soviet propaganda Pravda...There are serious structural issues with this team's coaching and general management (see the video Brett Kollman did on the Bills offense as one example of a good coaching critique) but Sal is there to paint the Buffalo Bills harvest as bountiful and amazing while the fanbase is actually starved and not getting the ultimate prize.
  22. I thought no one would rival Haynesworth when it comes to robbing a team but Watson definitely did it...
  23. If he were to become available, it would be great if Pegula went all in on hiring Harbaugh out of Michigan. Dude resurrected Alex Smiths career, got Kaepernick paid and actually had his team , the 49ers, in a Super Bowl where they pretty much lost because the league wanted the Ravens to win in Ray Lewis's final season. The Super Bowl was very close and basically one or two plays cost them. His 49ers team also almost went to a back to back super bowl but lost on a final play against the champion Seahawks......McDermott has never come this close. Plus Harbaugh is willing to cheat if necessary and seeing as the league doesn't really care about punishing cheating (or else the Pats would have been stripped of super bowls and the league wouldn't be so hard in favoring the Chiefs right now such as in the Vikings game) , I say give it a try. Precedent is if we get caught later, as long as the super bowl trophy is ours, ***** don't matter. Allen and the Bills will then be much more marketable. Eric Cartman made a valid point about cheating in South Park and I say we take this up if necessary ..
