  1. Kind of odd to post these postseason numbers when a few key elements that would have helped stop the run were not available. I mean I believe this defense is not physical enough and it has been what is holding back the team from getting to a championship but last year they had linebackers that had no business being on the field trying to stop KC. It was an epic mismatch. The only way to win that game was to beat them 38-35 or something.
  2. I am a fan of the size of the safeties and bishop's athleticism. They feel thin at cornerback to me but oddly I think the safeties should be a good group. I can't wait to see Dewayne Carter also.
  3. Yes it's on the athletic and paywalled but its excellent. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5648468/2024/07/22/buffalo-bills-defense-terrel-bernard-injury-linebacker/ here is a snippet... Bernard led the Bills in tackles while recording 6.5 sacks, nine quarterback hits, three interceptions and three fumble recoveries. In the dominant playoff victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers, he made four tackles, broke up two passes and recovered a fumble despite lasting just 32 plays, his dislocated right ankle requiring the medical cart to drive him away. He would have made a difference in the three-point loss to Kansas City. He’s a rising star, while replacement A.J. Klein had been cut from the practice squad a month earlier and reckoned himself retired before an emergency recall to Buffalo’s injury-tattered roster as the postseason began. Bernard would have made more effective stops, would have been harder for Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce to handle, would have been a calmer presence in relaying the signals and recognizing plays, would have given McDermott enough confidence in his defense to avoid risking a direct snap to safety Damar Hamlin for an unsuccessful fake punt because giving the ball back to Mahomes felt like surrender.
  4. More importantly they got Coleman plus Dwayne Carter. I can't wait to see carter in the preseason
  5. Bobby Slowik (OC Houston) called Diggs "One of us" in an interview yesterday. Case closed, he wanted out and he wanted to go to houston and they granted him his wish. Now he is one of them. I can't wait till camp starts so we never have to hear about ol' steve again.
  6. Not Me. I think Coleman will have a nice role here and DeWayne Carter has a shot to be the breakout star of this camp and a huge difference maker as the season wears on. He looks to have all the tools and the power he plays with is going to be fun to watch. Would Allen love to have a blazing fast outside wr to stretch the field, Yes everyone would but Carter and Coleman over Worthy for me everyday. I mean Yea I wish they made that trade with like the panthers or something and worthy did not go to KC but whatever you have to build your own team.
  7. Framing it that way is the first mistake. They are not replacing diggs. They have changed their approach. Diggs and Davis are gone. There is a new coordinator. The run game should be excellent and better this year. The offensive line is deep. Talented Tight end group. If the running game is what I think it is then this group of wr is going to be just fine and if they are missing a certain element, like a blazing fast deep threat or another play they want inside they have the resources going forward to go find one.
  8. Don Shula summed it up a few decades ago. "We will tolerate you until we can replace you" The team decided to get younger and remake the roster. So a constant threat to the locker room is shipped out. Now Josh Allen is the guy in charge at all times and there is no veteran Diva WR that views himself above the quarterback. Team Building 101. They will lose ability on the field with the loss of Diggs and Davis but the plan is to gain in the locker room and in practice. They have firepower and will have salary space in the next few years to go out and get that ability they are looking for if the current group comes up short. In the short term The Bills will have a peaceful situation and the Texans are now on a short list of Favorites in the NFC because they traded for a savior at wr. There is no need for the Bills to care at all about this guy anymore. He wanted out and they sent him to where he wanted to go. Anything he says going forward concerns him and the texans.
  9. Honestly I have heard reporters talk about how jeremy fowler just makes things up and espn knows he does it. So I don't really have any interest in what he says. Not really a fan of any national reporters anymore since everything got skip bayless'd and stephen a smith'd.
  10. 39 is a 2. The bills at most should give a 2nd and I would never offer them the minnesota 2 buffalo has. First round picks bring an extra year to the deal. The bills are in no shape to be moving premium picks for veteran players who want 30 million dollars a year. And again, Burnes plays the more important position and he couldn't get a first round pick. Giving up a 1 to the niners would be complete insanity for buffalo.
  11. No way he brings back a first. If Brian Burnes at a more important position in the prime of his career can't return a first you would have to be mental to offer a 1st for a guy demanding to be traded. Anyone who gives up a 1st for this guy is crazy.
  12. Rightfully so. He is absolutely not worth the draft capital and salary he would cost.
  13. They very well could have the same type of season as the 09 vikings had with Favre in his last hurrah. That defense will be almost impossible to beat if they are scoring 20 points a game. They have some older players though that are always injured.
  14. Yea my point is that the trend in the league is to get the starters a ton of work in these joint practices the week of their preseason matchup and then the preseason game matters even less to the coaches. Then the game itself is diminished even more because they already got the work in they really wanted their guys to get.
  15. The defensive line without question. Can't beat the top quarterbacks/offenses in the playoffs until they have someone to fear up front. The best secondaries and or back seven can only cover for so long.
  16. This just made the preseason game pointless unless you are interested in seeing mitch trubisky throw to the new wr crew. All these teams that hold joint practices basically do even less in the preseason matchup. Not that it matters.
  17. I am from Utica. I currently live in North Texas, been here 22 years. The weather in north texas is terrible. There are two seasons. Hot like the surface of the sun from memorial day to late september....and not hot. We get terrible ice storms in february, january is generally cold and its grey here like everywhere else until march. Then march comes and you have 3 months of horrific thunderstorms and live under the threat of tornadoes. They have no basements here. so tornado's are an awesome experience. If you are not from here people are rude and will give u crap about it all times. Most people here are self righteous entitled ricks with a p. the most arrogant place you will ever visit. There was a time where homes were more affordable than other major cities but that is long gone and our property taxes here are among the highest in the country. My Daughter graduates from high school in 2 years. so i have 1 more miserable summer here. Its awful. I miss the seasons and the leaves and great weather in the fall. I would put the fall in central new york/upstate/western new york up against anything. 70 during the day, 50's at night. Its magical. I just wish a certain segment of the population didn't ruin the economy of upstate new york...its a damn shame. Either way I am moving home in 2 years for many of the reasons u stated. The only thing I will hate is the dreariness of february and early march. Pizza. A lot of the old italian Restaurants and their families are gone but some are still standing. o'scugnizzo (skineets as we called it) is still standing though and the best pizza in the country.
  18. I always love this stuff. What could possibly be the upside of saying negative stuff about your teams rival city/fans? Hey watch it.
  19. Maybe so but I would love to see what a guy like Mike Vrabel could do here with this team at this moment while the roster is being shuffled and the salary cap reset. Vrabel's teams always play with a physical toughness that I think the Bills lack on both sides of the ball. Would have loved to seen him hired this year and what would happen with his approach along with Josh Allen and the potential of this running game. Doesn't matter though the organization has decided to keep McDermott in charge so we will just have to root for him.
  20. My understanding is that he can still be cut during this season. Once he restructured he counts 8.5 million with a bunch of incentives. If he is terrible again and its early november I was pretty sure he could be cut. I am probably wrong.
  21. ok. The cowboys have been looking for safeties for over a decade, they have been trying to put together a wr core made up of draft picks for a long time, they can not draft or develop a DT to save their life. As far as tyron smith goes he is hurt every year and has been a major problem for them late in the season because of his injuries. They finally drafted a guy to play there and he is actually their left guard. They went through a lot of really bad players over there before they drafted smith two years ago. They have had some great players fall into their laps in the first round through the years much like baltimore. Dez bryant, lamb, parsons. Mostly because of other teams decisions. The Bills are just fine. This obsession with WR here is bananas.
  22. this is so far off on Dallas.
  23. I posted this before and it was deleted for some reason. I expect nothing from him and hope the team does not either. Anything they get from him is a bonus. They just have to keep him around to finish out his contract. Old former elite players always have a lot to say in the summer. I honestly won't be shocked if he is released at some point late in the season. having said all that I am hoping for a miracle and he has a ton of pressures and like 8 to 10 sacks.
  24. Signing Barkley make no sense for that team. None. Seemed like a pretty wise move imo. on the flip side, the eagles have a very top heavy roster and a very odd coaching staff. Seems they are ready to crash and burn. The eagles have done this before with an in division star running back with and extensive injury history. It was a huge failure. Demarco Murray flamed out pretty quick in philly. Not saying barkley will but the eagles feel like an organization with some underlying issues and again a very top heavy roster. 3 years for 37 million for a guy always hurt in a fragile locker room seems like not the best idea.
  25. PFF ranked the Bills RB Group as 21st in the league. That seems pretty low to me.
