  1. It’s actually 0-2 against Brady with Mahomes. The AFCCG and the Superbowl. The other Chiefs Reid playoffs loss to Brady was with Alex Smith. Getting Mahomes changed everything for Reid. His reputation went from choking in the biggest games to possibly all time great. Funny how that works when you have a great qb. Where does that leave McD? Either he’s like early Reid who hasn’t found his Mahomes yet or he’s just a mediocre coach that can’t win it all with a great qb like Allen. I think it’s the latter.
  2. Oh man I’ve heard it all now. They’re just looking at these games as practices. Lol Like Kyle Brandt said on GMFB this morning ‘Bills aren’t the Chiefs’. They’re not good enough to be lackadaisical and expect to win.
  3. 3 and out is better than a turnover on the first possession. I’ll be taking TB + the points. Might even make $ AND enjoy a Bills win.
  4. Of course Allen is a great qb! I’ve never said otherwise. Wth are we even talking about here. Lol. I’ve repeatedly said he’s the 2nd best in the league. If that’s not saying he’s great I don’t know what would. How did the Chiefs do before Mahomes arrived? Stacked meaningless regular season wins then flamed out in the playoffs never threatening to win a superbowl. Does this scenario sound similar to OBD currently? Yes I’m afraid you may be right about Dorsey. That just means another wasted year of Allen’s prime. Heaven forbids another year of Dorsey next season.
  5. I do. So we have different opinions. Who knew. Yes you do need coaching. You also need qb’s. As NE proved with Belicheck and Brady…the qb is more important than the coach. Great QBs overcome mediocre coaching. Great QBs and great coaching? Well that’s where dynasties exist.
  6. When the Chiefs struggle against inferior opponents they usually find a way to win in the end because Mahomes finds a way to do what’s necessary to secure a win. He has that ‘it’ factor. Brady had that. Now it’s Mahomes. You see glimpses from Allen but not consistent enough to pull tough games out. That trait alone is why I think Mahomes would’ve thrive anywhere, including here. As far as being driven it comes directly from Allen so I don’t see how you think it’s a cheap shot. He doesn’t watch as much film because he doesn’t think it’ll help. This was from him this past offseason. He doesn’t work as hard in the offseason compared to both Burrow and Mahomes. Mahomes holds an offseason receivers camp. Burrow has his qb camp. These are both his competition. He stated that he’s ‘more focused than ever to football’. That’s speaks of immaturity. He’s the face of an NFL franchise not the starting qb at your local hs. All these snippets adds up to someone that’s not unilaterally driven to be the best a his craft. It’s not a slight. Not everyone can be driven. Yes I absolutely agree that he has worked hard in the early years to improve his game to elite status. It seems complacency has taken roots lately. I’ve always maintained that he’s the second best qb in the league and that’s good enough to get a championship. Bills struggles is not all his fault. It’s not even the majority his fault. But he is on the team and its leader no less so part of the blame will be on his shoulders. There’s still enough season left for the team to right the ship. I’m still holding out hope for a strong finish but this loss has taken a big dent for sure.
  7. I do. I think if Mahomes ended up here Bills would have won at least 1 superbowl. I also believe if Allen went to KC they would also win 1 but not be as dominant as they have been the last 5 years. Reid > McD. Mahomes > Allen. Take your Bills glasses off and you can see that Mahomes is a better player. He’s not as physically gifted as Allen but his intangibles are greater than Allen’s. He has that drive to be the best that I don’t see Allen possess. A player like Mahomes will succeed no matter where he ended up. It’s just bad for the league that he ended up with the most innovative offensive mind that unlocked all his potential.
  8. Was not good enough today.
  9. I really thought that would be Allen’s stat line against the Pats. Smh. This loss is inexcusable.
  10. Reid is a much better offensive coach than what the Bills have. Coaching is a big part of the puzzle. But it isn’t the biggest part. Players are the biggest part. And there’s no player bigger than the quarterback in today’s processional football. If it’s just having the right coach Belicheck wouldn’t be struggling as much as he has since Brady left. At some point great QBs win regardless of where they’re drafted. That’s why they are the leaders of their teams and make the most bucks. At some point you can’t keep using coaching as an excuse for a qb that hasn’t gotten it done. Going into year 6th we’re getting near that point. Right now is all we have to work with. Future hypotheticals are not guaranteed so it doesn’t make sense to use any of those ‘feelings’. We’d all like to think that Allen will get his one day but that’s not a guaranteed. And with each passing year it becomes less and less of a possibility.
  11. What you said is absolutely true here regarding both QBs. What’s unclear is your position about their ranking. Are you saying that because Mahomes was drafted by KC he’s not better than Allen? If that’s the case I disagree completely. Even taking away MVPs and Superbowls, both are QBs metrics btw, objective people can see Mahomes has done more to get his team further than Allen has for the Bills. The year KC won their first superbowl they were down big in their first playoff game against Houston. Their whole sideline, including Reid, was shellshocked. Mahomes was the one going up and down to his teammates encouraging them to not give up. This is just one example of how great of a player and leader he is. Like it or not he has that ‘it’ factor. That’s not something you can coach. It’s not a coincidence that Andy Reid couldn’t win the big one until Mahomes. At this point to not recognize that Mahomes is the best qb in the league is just being a homer. Like I said earlier, Allen is #2 and there’s nothing wrong with that at all. That’s more than capable to win it all. Whether it happens will depend on a lot of things beyond his own ability.
  12. Not worried until the Cincy game. Bills should be 6-2 going into that game. If not…uh oh.
  13. I’m assuming you think Burrow is 2nd? I’d take Allen over Burrow but I could see someone thinking the reverse.
  14. Yup. They were also getting bounced in the first playoff game all but 1 year and never got closed to making a superbowl much less winning one. Mahomes changed all that from the time he stepped on to the field. Josh is a great qb and hopefully will take the Bills where they want to be. But we don’t need to diminish the best qb in the league to praise our qb. It’s ok to be 2nd best.
  15. Of course it means something! It gives Bills fans the belief that this year will be different!
  16. You’re speaking too much truth! Mia and KC. Both teams that are ahead of the Bills in the standings but are somehow not very good but the Bills with all the injuries will still go further. I’ve even seen comments like the Jags are more dangerous than the Chiefs even though the Chiefs beat the Jags at their place…while ‘struggling’ no less. I’m not sure if these opinions are homer based and just not accepting reality. Perhaps both. The clear reality is the Bills have been inconsistent on offense while losing some key components on defense. It will be tough to reach their ultimate goal this year imo. But there’s a lot of football left so we’ll see.
  17. Are we back to the offseason already?
  18. Well yeah. If there’s a wr streaking free every play any offense would be unstoppable. But that’s not how it is. The way defenses are playing elite QBs these days with high safeties it’s imperative to find the shorter routes quickly and throw accurately. Allen hasn’t been able to do that consistently and that’s contributing to the sluggish offense. Making it worse is his unwillingness to scramble when those routes are not open. The coaches want him to protect himself and not invite contact. I doubt they’re telling him to not run at all. That’d be nuts with a qb like him.
  19. Even after the snap he’s better at identifying the longer downfield routes. It seems like the quicker shorter routes are more challenging.
  20. For sure. Their offense is not the same as past seasons. Only 1 reliable pass catcher just like the Bills. But they didn’t struggled to win against that hapless Broncos team. It was won in the 1st quarter. If their offense doesn’t improve they will struggle against better competition. See their game against the Jets.
  21. Chiefs didn’t scored many points and are still figuring out their offense. But at no point in that game did it looked like Denver had a chance. When KC went up 10-0 it was done. Meanwhile, the Bills gave me and the rest of the fanbase a heart attack right up to literally the last second of the game. I don’t think the two performances were similar at all. Let’s hope Bills can muster up the ability to give us a stress free win against the Pats this week.
  22. Load the house on Bills 2nd half. Easy $$$
  23. Yes in that situation it is. From the Eagles perspective the Jets were already in chip shot range. Just hand off a few times to take time off. Yes their qb struggled. But if they get the ball back there’s still a chance vs not getting the ball back with time and no chance. Yeah 100% more points at THAT point of the game. There’s still plenty of time left. Eagles tried to do this in the Superbowl but Chiefs didn’t bite. Because they’re a better coached team that has situational awareness.
  24. It isn’t. But it’s better odds than giving your opponent the ball back with almost 2min and 2 timeouts.
