  1. This is a good thread for deletion. Agree with a previous poster: this won't end well.
  2. OMG!! The voice of sanity, balance and reason. Chicago? You must be Marv Freakin' Levy! Well done.
  3. The key is that the stadium needs to be fully utilized to get an ROI. 8 days of full use a year (while Ralph is alive... that is only maybe, when Ralph passes, the is an unlikely) So what can you fill the stadium with the other 358 days? If a good other than Bills use came up.. the plan is feasible. But I'm not so sure there are other good draws. UB football? Rock Concerts? Religious revivals? Gun Shows! Bisons. Sabres ha ha
  4. Ya. But the YTD taxes witheld was $8000. I love people who report tax returns.
  5. If Ben had a headlight modulator this might not have happened. I use one, and it really makes a difference. A bit nerdy, but I can get over that. It's especially good at catching the eye of those about to turn left in front of you. I never understood those who drive without a helmet. I feel like a huge "risk taker" when I ride with an open face helmet. I could never imagine going helmet-less. I hope he recovers, From the press report, it said he "tried to stand" which might be a good sign that he could even try.
  6. Good thing Bruschi doesn't play for Saban. Imagine the press coverage then..
  7. I'm not there... but my brother and mother are. I'm going to let them know. Too bad it doesn't tell you how much $ is in the account. You may make a trip to the notary, do the paperwork, and when the check comes you find out you're only getting $3.
  8. I wonder if Bflo could lower the two 1sts penalty..? For example: water it down to one 1st... or even a 2cd. But even reducing the compensation to the Bills won't get any teams to bite on Nate. There is no team out there who think's he's worth what he thinks he's worth. Until Nate gets a realistic grasp on his market value, he is un-tradeable.
  9. I plotted the points in the Red Zone draft value chart and posted at Tinypic RedZone Draft Value. (don't worry, the link does not bring you to Peter Pan) It's a good thing they stated it was an "example chart" not used by any NFL Team. The slope is outrageous. 3000 points for first selection, then 2 points for the last? On second thought, I'll betcha TD actually used this chart. My plot line would be lower and not so steep. Maybe 100 points for a first rounded... 15 points for the last, with some curvage in the middle. I think the sweetspot for return on investment in the draft is between selections 12 and 24-ish. ..and I'm a big believer in 2cd and 3rd round picks. Picks 1 through 8 are just filled with too much Ryan Leif like risk. So the rumors of the Bills trading down, I'm cool with that.
  10. Drop the W and call them the "NY Bills" NY Bills has a nice ring. ...it would be stickin' it to NYC. Though, moving the team to a new locale in upstate will probably hurt, not help corporate sales. Think everyone agrees corporate sales and lack of sponsors is what hurts the Bills. The Deadskins, Cowboy, Patsies all have great corporate sales.
  11. Ralph is going against a very powerful force in the owners of big NFL teams. They are some smart, vicious players with endless re$ources to protect their image and push they're own twisted agendas. Ralph (the Browns, Bidwell and others) are bucking against the tide and are about to be squished. Look at the full court PA press by loser-boy Clayton, deadskins writers, and others we haven't even seen yet. I give Ralph creativity and gumption points for his trip to Albany... but he needs more. He needs more behind the scenes action, he needs to apply more pressure in different ways, he needs to mobilize the small market masses. He needs more pols. One of the best ways he could do this is to hire a PA firm for this project only. New York, LA and the beltway are full of firms that specialize in this type of PR. He needs one now... the money spend will yield a huge return on investment (language Ralph understands This is no knock on the Bill's PA department. They are one of the leagues best. But they are ill suited to press this cause. When you have cancer, you don't go to the family Doc, you go to the Oncologist. Ralph needs one of the firms that can go toe to toe with the big owners, the Snyder/Jones snakes and the sycophanitc media lackeys who lick their boots. Ralph could be successful when pointed in the right direction and with some spin control. He can be successful 'cause his cause is righteous. He's got to succeed now. It's not just a matter of the Bills. It's that this latest CBA and revenue sharing is just one step in the direction... a direction toward MLB, where a few teams like the Yankees dominate due to $, and the rest just poke along presenting their fans mediocre entertainment. Possibly losing the Bills is one depressing prospect, but maybe even losing my favorite major league sport all together makes it even more depressing. Now I wish I knew the names of some of these PA or lobbying firms...
  12. Great idea! Maybe some TBD extrovert should also post an invitation here: Bengals Board. This is important to them as well. All small market teams should be there...
  13. Maybe. First half of 2002 5-3 (wins/loss) ...surprised some with Second Half 2002 3-5 ...opponents catching on First half of 2003 4-4 ...new season, some surprised some Second half 2003 2-6 ...opponents have him down cold Then again, maybe DB will do well all season with Dallas. The Tuna is the undisputed master of getting inside his players heads and making them perform. Maybe DB's success is due to the Tuna's psychological warfare making him perform well. If so, sad that a professional athlete needs such external motivation. I still feel cutting DB was best, 1) because we don't have a immobile QB compatible o-line like Dallas does 2) Mularkey would never be able to get inside DB's head as well the the Tuna. I don't mind DB seeing some success... he was first class while here (most of the time).
  14. Bump. RL is da man. 40-49 yard history 2000 7-8 87% 2001 6-14 42% 2002 4-5 80% 2003 3-7 42% 2004 1-3 33% 2005 4-5 80% (only missed NOLA) His history is sporadic, very good seasons followed by very bad ones. This year is tracking to be a very good one.
  15. ...while working at a place not running SAP? I see lots of jobs for SAP people. I have a few years left before I leave the military, and am interested in those SAP jobs. Problem is I don't have a role in any SAP systems. We do Peoplesoft (yech...) and some Oracle Financials, but no SAP. So I don't have a chance of learning SAP on the job. Frankly, I don't think I'll be able to break into SAP. I don't want to be trapped into a lifetime of Peoplesoft, I just don't like it. I'll do one of those Over The Road trucker schools before I do that.
  16. When I fly in with the kids, I stay at the Holiday Inn on Genesee by the Airport. Two times, I got that hotel for $50 using Priceline. Whether you stay there or not, the restaurant in the Holiday Inn is pretty good... not the best in Bflo... but you can't beat the conveniece if flying. They have the staples: Beef on Weck, Wings... One of my daughter's LOVES the Turkey Dinner platter.
  17. Hmm. Let's invent a new drink: 1 part Boca Chica 1 part Tequila 1 part JD 3 parts Jolt Cola (keep the nergy level up) Suggestions for a name? How about the "Bail Bond"?
  18. I've also seen that with whiskey. Don't know why it's like that. Even 'ole JD himself was afflicted (see number 5). Tequila is even worse IMO. I've had several phases: Scotch, Gin (Tanqueray only), Stoley's. Phase for the moment = Myers's Dark Rum. Haven't decided on the next phase. Maybe the Whiskey
  19. Good movie. Though, it is an acquired taste. Like others, I didn't like it the first viewing. But my daughter watched the movie several more times, and I started to see different things and began to like it. On top of that, my daughter does a great Napoleon Dynamite imitiation (I told she should be concerned that she can do that so well)... she has us all rolling on the floor when she runs like Napoleon.
  20. It's all about Nielson ratings. Look at the positive hype around Jets, Dallas, Skins... all three getting more positive attention than is warranted. Ratings. Thank god there isn't a LA team. They'd be the second version of Cleveland, hyped as the next New England.
  21. Everyone knows that Retatta is the cousin of Zenyatta Mondatta. and also the complimentary dish to Frittata.
  22. From a recent victor in the healthcare trenches (me) here's an important tip: Get a scond opinion. The second opinion for diagnosis is probably not critical, what is wrong is probably not in debate. But the way to treat your condition may vary greatly from Dr. to Dr. A second opinion for treatment options is critical. A good Doctor will not be offended by you seeking a 2cd. Some even like having their work looked at by others, gives them a chance to build their skills/knowledge. Maybe your Dr. will give you names of other Drs. to go to. I went with my 2cd opinion guy... it changed, if not saved, my life. You'll be OK.
  23. I'd say the guy was in his fortys, about 5'11 or 6'. Yes.. I live in Suffolk. Though I'm trying to talk my wife into moving to Franklin or Smithfield. What was I doing there...? Disposing of "stuff" after a thorough house cleaning. You can only fit so much in one of those green containers the city gives you.... miss those Bflo trashmen
