My appreciation for Lamar has really grown over the past few seasons. He is an amazing QB and the best compliment I can give him is that I was literally praying that the Ravens would punt at the end. In addition, he is classy. The way he handled himself after this loss and the playoff loss last year is exactly the way Josh reacts in the same situations-congratulatory to the other QB, owning the defeat himself and taking blame for teammates who let him down. Josh is the best QB in the league. I would take him over anyone who has even played the position. Lamar is great too.

Sometimes the other guy is just better

I thought the same thing. Was literally praying the Raven would punt. I heard an interview with Lamar that he wanted to go for the first down but was cramping and wasn't physically able to take the field. Even so, Harbaugh should have taken a TO and given Lamar another minute to see if he could take that last snap. -

Doing what to the masses? Offering them a product at a certain price and then giving them the choice of paying for it or not? If that is the net result of all of this so-called greed, it’s pretty benign. Seriously, some people need to stop seeing themselves as perpetual victims and start looking at life as though you all have some agency. If legal NFL stream is a bad product and doesn’t deliver value then don’t buy. If streaming NFL legally is a good product and you can’t afford it, then cut back on other areas or get a side hustle so that you can afford it…or do without and congratulate yourself for being a responsible adult and living within your means. -

Watching football was a luxury when it was free, too. football is not a necessity. -

Im not moralizing, I’m trying to be precise in our language. It is not making a moral statement to say that we should all use words with their universally understood meanings. People are co-opting words like steal, etc and using them in ways that are way different than in the ways we would all agree are wrong. -

And you didn’t answer the question. Notice the shift in your language. You went from “stealing” to “taking advantage” with just the slightest pushback. And since watching NFL games is a luxury and 100% voluntary you aren’t even being taken advantage of. All the so-called moral arguments for watching illegal streams hinge on redefining words like theft, steal, exploit, etc from their universally understood and condemned meanings to something else that they have never meant. -

If your moral framework can’t say that I’d be wrong to steal his car then your moral compass is off. -

Which billionaire is “stealing” from you? And by stealing, I don’t mean some new made up definition of stealing like charging more than you think you should pay. Which billionaire is taking what is legally yours and giving you nothing in return? -

I want to steal your car. You probably have a nicer home than I do so I feel justified. tell me why I’m wrong. -

No, they are not taking advantage of me. And they are not taking advantage of you. This perpetual victim mentality is so sad. The NFL are offers a product at a price. My 30 plus years of Bills fandom doesn’t give me the right to take that product without paying for it. There have been many years in the past when I couldn’t afford Sunday Ticket, so guess what? I didn’t get to watch the games live like I wanted to. No one was screwing me over. Now I can afford it and I get to watch the games live. Maybe in the future my circumstances will change again and I won’t be able to afford it-so I won’t watch. its football. It’s the definition of a luxury. If you can’t afford it or think it is overpriced, find something else fun to do on Sundays. -

Thats a very convenient definition of greed. Such a horrible crime and one that, since you have neither power nor the ability to exploit, you can never be guilty of. It will always be some other guy who is being greedy, but never you-even when you choose to take or use a product without paying for it. -

I'm not trying to make anyone feel bad and I don't expect anyone to change their behavior either. I do think it is important to label things correctly, and I think that everyone hiding behind euphemisms like corporate greed, etc are just not being real with themselves. I think that those arguments are all just rationalizations for doing what they want to do regardless of whether it is right or wrong. (And I've NEVER heard the term victimless crime used to describe a situation where the victim is not sympathetic.) -

"Getting all the different apps isn't worth it to me for what they offer, so I take the route to watch them for free on these sites." Let's be a little more clear with our language. "Getting all the different apps isn't worth it to me for what they offer, so I watch them on illegal streams so I don't have to pay." I'm not trying to be some moralizing crusader here. If people were just honest and would say the truth. that they want something but don't feel like they should have to pay, I'd leave it alone. Its the supporting arguments about how they are justified in doing wrong because of greed, or whatever that I find so bothersome. -

I didn't say they have a mandate to be as greedy as possible. I said they have a RESPONSIBILITY to maximize return for their investors. But again, greed is such an interesting word because it is ALWAYS the other guy who is being greedy. You certainly aren't being greedy when you are negotiating with your employer to maximize your income. You aren't being greedy when you negotiate with the car dealer to pay as little for your car as possible. In all cases you are motivated exclusively by altruism and have found the exact sweet spot between being greed and trying to maximze your income and how much of it you keep. -

You literally said there is a victim when you said the only one being stolen from is the NFL. The NFL is the victim of this stealing. Now you might say they are unsympathetic victims or that the owners have enough money, but people who stream illegally are enjoying the owner's product and not paying them for it. They aren't taking advantage of you. If the Sunday Ticket isn't worth the price they charge for the service they offer, then don't buy it. But then don't tur around and watch the games illegally. I will never understand this desire some people have to see themselves as victims or as being screwed over somehow just because they can't have everything they want. -

Again, so what? How do any of these points you are making justify someone watching NFL games they haven’t paid for. if you are saying it doesn’t justify that behavior, then it doesn’t matter whether or not prices go up, go down or stay the same as a result of that theft. It’s an interesting side discussion, but doesn’t change the fundamental thrust of the point that you were responding to…that people who watch NFL games they haven’t paid for are stealing and stealing is wrong-even when stealing from a corporation. -

It even worse to see people taking what they want without paying for it without an ounce of shame. In fact, they not only are devoid of shame, but they talk about their theft in moral terms as though they are bravely standing up against some form of injustice rather than just simply seeking to satisfy their desire to watch Bills games for free. its really pathetic and symptomatic of much larger societal issues. -

What is the difference between greed and seeking to maximize profits (which every publically traded corporation has a fiduciary responsibility to shareholders-like me and everyone else who owns their stocks either individually or through indexes, mutual funds, retirement accounts, etc-to do)? Please be precise and explain the exact dollar amount they start being greedy and I and other shareholders should be okay with them not trying to maximize return on our investments l. I’m being facetious of course because you cant do it. People who complain about greed use the term to describe a feeling they have towards other people. They themselves are never greedy of course-that is always a crime committed exclusively by others. -
What even is a legit WR6 and how is that different from a WR4 or 5?

Johnny Bravo replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agreed. I also love that Keon his his strongest critic. He press conference where he basically said he was trash last year was awesome. I don’t agree with Keon (I though he was pretty decent), but I loved that he wasn’t satisfied and knew he needed to improve.
