  1. You treat it as though it is axiomatic that his statement is ignorant. Can you quantify the extent to which it is ignorant? A Catholic man (I’m not Catholic), speaking to an audience of Catholics and speculating that many of them are looking forward to being wives and mothers more than career women. Since his statement is “quantifiably ignorant” quantify it for us. What percentage of the women in the audience disagree with his statement? Since Butker’s statement was qualified in that he clearly stater he was only talking about a subset of his audience, what is the precise degree of difference between the beliefs of his target audience and their beliefs at which Butker’s statement becomes false? Actually, I don’t think that’s necessary. You obviously disagree with Butker’s point-or a straw man you’ve made out of his actual point-and rather than say why he is incorrect you do what you did. i agree with a lot of your Bills takes, but this one is weak and disrespectful.
  2. I’m liking Keon so far, but it’s not obvious we preferred him. We could have made the same trade with the Chiefs and they could have taken Keon instead of Worthy and we’d have been left with someone else. if Keon turns out to be better than Worthy it might just be that we got lucky.
  3. Thurman was MVP of the league in 91
  4. You’re right that there are other factors to consider, but when a team gives up 85 sacks you can draw a conclusion about the quality of the O-Line’s play.
  5. You are the one who seems hung up on how much money other people have...not me. I judge things by whether the facts as I see them and not based on whether or not someone’s demographic category. You seem to have rejected the idea of blind justice (at least in this instance) which, unfortunately, a lot of other people seem to have done. I accused you of either not know what the word extortion means or (worse) knowing what it means and using it anyway to describe a situation that you know isn't extortion. Instead of defending your reasoning you chose to attack my motives...which is remarkable being that you don't know anything about me or my life.
  6. Extortion? That is a word that has a specific meaning and involves the threat of the use of force. That has never happened. At worst, owners have threatened to move the teams they own to a place where they think they can make more money. That isn’t extortion. i get it. You don’t like the wealthy for whatever reason. That doesn’t excuse you of throwing around accusations without any evidence or redefining words so you can accuse those bad people you don’t like of something sinister sounding.
  7. Deserve is an interesting word. Who “deserves” what and who decides? in the vast majority of cases, in a free country, people earn based on the value other people think they provide-not based on some abstract idea like what is “deserved”. Jeff Bezos gets money from me because I like the convenience his company offers me. Terry Pegula gets money from me because I love the team he owns. Etc, etc. Nobody is tricking me or forcing me to make those choices and I do have alternatives. And so doors everyone here. When I was younger, the company I worked for thought my labor was worth $4 per hour. Now my employer thinks the value I bring to the table is worth more than that. What I think I (or anyone other than my employer or I) think I “deserve” is irrelevant.
  8. Can you be more specific? What laws has Terry Pegula routinely broken, or Jerry Jones, or the Mara family, etc. Let’s not hide behind vague accusations of law breaking. Tell us who broke what laws, and I’ll agree with you that they should punished.
  9. This sort of attitude is so annoying. What does the owner’s wealth have to do with whether or not this decision is right? if a law was broken then they should suffer a penalty. If no wrong was done, then they shouldn’t. Your stated desire to see someone punished because they are wealthier than you is ugly. Envy is just as deadly a sin as greed.
  10. This just isn’t true. 2017-white, dawkins, jones, Milano all started (so did Peterman for about 30 minutes) 2018-Josh, Edmunds, Phillips, Johnson all started 2019-Oliver, Singletary, Ford, and Knox all started 2020-no starters 2021-Spencer brown started and I think Rousseau started some games as well 2022-Benford started 2023-Kincaid, Torrance started As our team has gotten better, it has gotten harder for rookies to earn a starting role. Why ascribe the decision to not start rookies to arrogance? Or, for that matter, which rookies should have started besides the ones I listed?
  11. We have the second most wins in the NFL over the past 4 years. How do we keep doing that with such terrible players picked by such an awful GM and coached by such a incompetent head coach? I’ve been reading this forum for 20 years and never post, but I felt compelled to ask.
  12. Yeah, because that is what he said.
