  1. The GM in Major League was also the father in Halloween and Dan the Weatherman in The Fog; one of the sort of John Carpenter players, if you will. ...just sayin'. BTW, no I don't think we should do this. Sign our own guys, lock up great talent (Dareus, Glenn next year, etc.) long term and get decent talent at respectable prices in free agency.
  2. Dude, wasn't it, though? Seriously, that sucked. Seriously, up at halftime and then moving the ball early in the third quarter I dared myself to dream. The next, I just couldn't believe it...four straight.
  3. Agree, and I also did not read. I'm sure he'd love to have as many people read it as possible, but I am not going to be one of them. Not saying we should boycott, or that those who want to read it shouldn't. However, I am just not in the mood for it, nor do I want to give him the hits to the article.
  4. ...and for those who think that the new owner can just break the lease and pay the 400 million dollar penalty the County (I believe) can sue for specific performance (and hopefully win), meaning that the Bills would have to stay and play here.
  5. Oh dear Lord. Please I truly hope he knows how much our prayers are with him.
  6. I wonder if New Orleans would love to have called its NBA team the Jazz again.
  7. Man-o-man, this is like preseason Christmas: Hall of Fame Game and joint practices with another NFL team. I'm looking forward to this all kicking off during the last week of May!
  8. Thank you for the many great times with friends and family your team has given and for all the charitable work you did throughout the years that sometimes get lost in our enthusiasm for winning. Enjoy our Super Bowl victory (when it happens) from the other side!
  9. Man, I agree with this. I mean, come on, they made the playoffs but this was a generational type pick that even a layman could have made.
  10. As I've stated before this guy is just going to continue to have a nice NFL career. Meaning, as others have stated, he is good enough to stick around, good enough to be a quality back-up and is a good locker room guy. This is not meant to be as insulting as it sounds but he will leave no real mark on this league. However, he is probably going to play no less than 15 season (maybe more, like Kitna), and after scoring some pretty good dollars from Buffalo on his first and second contracts with the Bills he is a 2-3 million dollars a year back up (starting last year) and will likely continue to be so through the remainder of his days. Jumpin' Jiminy, that is a successful career when you can walk away after 15 or so years with a pension and having made between 30-40 million dollars. Good for you, Fitzy. Good for you.
  11. I like Hairston, but I'm not willing to wait around and hope that he's OK and hope that he can continue his progression that we saw earlier in his career. ...so yeah, I am definitely in with getting a RT in the first a second. It shouldn't be a hope, it should be a priority.
  12. I just want to give props to this being a great thread. Very insightful, great information and fairly direct and to the point. Nicely done, Bandit, and to the others that added additions links and info.
  13. We need more W's against cancer, Jim. Sorry that it is in your hands again to get us one of them, but I am glad you are on our side, because believe me we are all on yours. God Bless you and your family and all those battling cancer.
  14. Well then I shall proceed to kick the messenger in the nether regions until I am sufficiently satisfied or tire of the screams. Seriously, though, thanks BGW.
  15. Hey, eme123, I am right there with you and I truly hope it is the case. For what we are trying to do this season, Spikes is definitely a move int he right direction. True, true. Sorry for the double post, btw, I just reacted quickly and should have merged both yours and eme's comments. EDIT: AND IT WAS MERGED AUTOMATICALLY, NICE!! LOVE TSW!
  16. Honestly, 808, that is exactly what I was thinking. You toss it around in your head that this is a great pick, but we are in a passing league and wouldn't it be better do have a 3 down backer who was better against the pass. Still, good move.
  17. KJ, I liked the combined answer of both yours and K-9s ...it was depressing as a Bills fan, but it was informative.
  18. Oh please, it's the internet. You only have to be kind of accurate.
  19. Sorry Amy...0-5.
  20. ...and paid him millions for a period of time. Yes, he got what he wanted in Philly, but CB97's earlier post is fairly accurate and this was not a guy who was trying to make due on the League minimum at the time. I believe his average was about 3.5 million at the time he left...deserved more(?) sure, but overall he handled things very poorly.
  21. I thought it was his back, which also makes me question whether he would ever be ready to return. For full disclosure I like Hairston and thought he was going to contribute nicely to this team in 2013 until it was determined that his health would sideline him for the entire season.
  22. Please allow me to hop on the FtL bandwagon with you, JJ. Spot on.
  23. My hope is we find another Cody Glenn in the 2nd (possibly 3rd round). I just think this team would be helped out so much by adding a dynamic LB. So no. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate the idea of an OT in the first round. However, as has been the case for a long time we have noticeable holes in other places to fill, as well.
  24. My family had season tickets and although I was very young I still remember those games. It was just so big, but then again, I was just so small then. I was too young to really know what happened as far as why they left, but over the years in reading the history about it, including jester's point above, makes me sick just to think about it. For those of you who weren't around the Braves were getting to be so good and then they just started to be gutted for any number of reasons that as a fan I'll never truly understand.
