Final Pro Football Focus Oline Season Grades
JMM replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
Unless we sign a top grade OL in FA, two of our first three picks better be OL in the Draft or I'll really start to question this regime, and I never have much before. -
That draft would be awesome, so it will NEVER happen

With Oliver Value Goes Beyond the Stat Line
JMM replied to Rich Stadium Original's topic in The Stadium Wall
The comparison to Donald is not valid and never was. When we drafted him my hope was he would be a poor man's John Randle. That to me was a better comparison. Unfortunately he doesn't appear to have the motor that made Randle A HOF. He disappears for stretches. As a penetrator you can't get swallowed up like he does. -
Correct me if I'm wrong but the issue for moving Brown to guard isn't that he's too tall usually for a guard? All I know is that his PP is absolutely pathetic. And Beane making excuses for him the other day did not give me a lot of confidence. We can't afford another year of that level of incompetence there for Josh.
-
Yes we will win it, but it will be tight. And for God's sake can we stop with the "If Tua was healthy" takes? Worse than fin heaven. When he WAS healthy they lost 4 straight games, including against us late in the year. And he is not going to remain healthy.

Bills D probably has 1 more year of running it back - and be good
JMM replied to appoo's topic in The Stadium Wall
Great, another year of a " top 5" D during the year, and lay a egg in the playoffs. But hey they won't give up bombs over the top....🙄 -
The more I think about this, it very likely means Frazier is back. Typically when a DC is let go, the staff is maintained until the new DC is hired and he chooses who he wants retained. So looking forward to another year of passive D led by Mr. Semi comatose.
-
If this isn't just the beginning then this fella is a pathetic sacrificial lamb. If Frazier is offered another contract then my confidence in this team getting to the promised land goes way way down.

Old Buffalo Bills Message Board
JMM replied to Floridagatorsbuffalobills's topic in The Stadium Wall
I was!! I miss the old board! Not saying anything wrong with this one. -
You're Beane. Give me your offseason moves as best you can at this point.
JMM replied to GreggTX's topic in The Stadium Wall
1. Move on from Frazier 2. Physicality, whatever that means in order to achieve this, but both lines need PHYSICALITY! 3. WR, OL and LB in that order. -
Not to rehash or in any way not understanding that we were dominated on both sides of the ball. But to me it seemed like the Bengals were doing better on the snow covered field. They didn't look tentative at all. Whereas to me it looked like the Bills were absolutely tentative at times, trying not to slip and slide. It felt like the Bengals were playing on a high natural grass surface and the Bills were playing on their old horrible carpet. Is it possible they screwed this up too, not having the proper length cleats?? Did anyone else notice this or was it just we were that slow and flat?

Interesting thought. But if they continue the current D with Frazier(please noooo), then Taron is too valuable as the slot corner. Benford makes more sense at safety as McDermott discussed .
-
That's not true at all! Plenty of new coordinators come in and completely turn around a D the first year!!
-
We have Josh. Period. As long as we have him, a potential HOF, we will always have a possibility of getting it done. That's how it works in the NFL.
-
God I hope this means he won't be coming back!
-
Listening on and off, clearly Dorsey safe, has he been asked about Frazier? Has he made it clear he is staying as well?
-
The same. I respect his passion and intensity, but he is a coach and it was inappropriate behavior.
-
Kind of interesting. Clearly frustrated. I don't get the sense it's about Josh either, but I think clearly Dorsey. While I respect the passion I don't approve of the display on the sideline and then after the game. You're a team leader and captain. Be better.

Hmm, can a pass rush be helped by creativity? Like disguised blitzes, stunts, aggressiveness? Did anybody watch Cinci and what they did yesterday? But let's stick with Frazier and the rush 4 vanilla. He looks like he is semi comatose on the sidelines, and his D plays like that at times.

13 Seconds Will Sting for a While Longer...
JMM replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall
13 secs was horrible and should have never happened. But the narrative of " we would have beaten the Bengals next week at home" and gone on to win it all needs to STOP. Yes the O was playing better last year, but to assume we would have beaten them last year looks silly after yesterday. -
The simple answer is YES!
-
We have that guy on D, Daquan Jones, him out yesterday made a big big difference, but yes we need more on the D line. O line needs complete rebuild.
-
Look at that team. Objectively they are more talented across the board than the Bills. Especially on offense, and on D they have playmaker and a likely future HOF in Parsons. So, why are they once again sitting at home and running in place? Because of their QB. He's just good enough to get them knocked out of the playoffs early each year. They are in qb purgatory. My point? The Bills future is still very bright. They have in Allen a generational talent, who is setting records. Who is likely on his way to a HOF career. Who is just now entering his prime years. In the NFL now you win with a great qb with a top ten O and a good but not great D, that is stout and aggressive. In the age of parity and salary cap, you cannot have both a great O and D, pretty much impossible. So, I'm hoping that McBean will be able to do what's needed now. You have to build this team around your franchise. Put all the available resources into building a O line and get wrs and playmakers on the O to support him. Including a commitment to a viable running game. On D I've made it very clear that Frazier must go. His passive style has been a disaster the last 3 years in the playoffs. I don't care about regular season stats! We should let Edmunds go, and several others. Ed likely will need to move on too. Money has to be allocated to the O. Get me an experienced aggressive hard nosed DC, Fangio comes to mind. We can win a SB with a great O led by Josh and a stout average aggressive D. Get er done!!!!
