Well, I'm going to lose 181.25 to 181.55 because Mike Williams saw basically no targets until the final drive of the game and Dallas put Zeke on the bench for nearly the entire 2nd half last night... despite carrying it 9 times for 50 yards vs Pollard's 6 times for 8 yards. Freakin' sucks!

UPDATE They took our phones, locked them into a bag and only allowed us access in a certain area outside the concession stands. I got to watch the first half of the game at the Bar inside the BOK Center in Tulsa, on the big screen. I didn't touch my phone until they unlocked it on our way out the door, by that time the game was over. I managed to avoid ALL news/internet/TV until then. And my dad? Text me "What a Bills blowout!". Sh*t, I tried to avoid everything but my dad f'ed it up. But it was a relief in a way, knowing we dominated the game and won. As for Bill Burr? HOLY SH*T, he was epic. I *rarely* smoke, maybe once a year? My fiancé does it every evening before bed and I took one hit off her "pen". Since I'm a major lightweight, it hit me BIG. It was hot inside the arena, so add that to the 'high', I was feeling horrible. Then Burr's opening act came out... Bianca Cristovao from the Czech Republic and she was HORRIBLE. There was NOTHING funny about her. So I thought, "Is it the high I'm having or is it this chick? It's going to SUCK if Burr comes out and I feel like this." Well, it was her. Darci (my GF) and I were in TEARS for the entire show. He tried to read the room, prodding with topics like guns, abortion, immigration, etc. since Oklahoma is a very RED state. He couldn't figure out where to take the show, so he was at a loss. He made some joke about England and brought up the Queen, which her death had nothing to do with his joke... the crowd did a "Ooooooooooooo" and he was stunned. He said something like, "WHAT THE F*CK? 6000+ miles from England people from Tulsa gives a flying f*ck about the Queen of England? Who would have thought THAT would be the subject to get you guys going." Burr was genius and I'm SO glad I went. Don't pass up the chance to see him live.

You haven't seen much of Baker Mayfield then...

Not worried about the Chargers too much. They could have lost at home to the freakin' Raiders. No one but Tampa would have me worried and that's only because of the GOAT. AFC 1. Kansas City 2. Indy (Because we've struggled against them) 3. Cincy 4. Denver (pending) 5. LA Chargers 6. Baltimore 7. Las Vegas NFC 1. Tampa Bay (because of TB12) 2. Los Angeles (not really)

Ole Miss, Kentucky and UGA might be the best 3 teams in the SEC this year.

What is better, no guns, or more guns?
ArdmoreRyno replied to Security's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Glad you feel that way. I don't think we need to give more guns to more criminals like your friend in Memphis, but unfortunately there's little we can do to stop these thugs from getting them on the streets from other thugs. -

Criminal gang members.... not GOP'ers. These are your type of peeps BillStime. The people who carry out most "mass shootings". Gangs. -
CFB Playoff Expansion to 12 teams approved
ArdmoreRyno replied to YoloinOhio's topic in College Football
But this is exactly why we need a playoff... a team like Texas, who has been the joke of the Big XII for 10-11 years, was one "intentional grounding" call away from beating Alabama. A&M gets beat by Appy State. -
I'm posting my picks on the CFB Week (?) thread... so far I'm 4-2 ATS with my featured picks (9-7-1 overall picking all top 25 games). I used to run a professional handicapping website called "The Sports Bar". Established it in 1996 so I was one of the first in the world to have a handicapping website. Managed to get to build it to the size it was featured in preseason magazines, got to travel to Vegas to speak at conventions, etc. Then the DOJ said it's "illegal to gamble online" and shut down all my advertisers. Lost 90% of my business overnight and had to make a change in my life. Now, it's legal. Oh well...

Teams like A&M get their ranking inflated because of the three letters "SEC" this season. Top to bottom, SEC isn't any better than any other conference at this point. Texas, who has been the joke of the Big XII for over a decade, was one safety away from winning that game. A&M loses at home to Appy State.

Which is way they've lost seats in the House. I would never want to live in California. What's amazing... the northern half of the state is very conservative and it's the big cities ruining it all. My fiancé is from a small town between Sacramento and Tahoe (not far from Firebaugh) and they are ALL conservative. Texas, Wyoming, New Mexico, Nevada is getting a surge of Californians.

Week 2 selections (I'll try to keep up, picking every game, going by AP top 25 from 1-25). Games that are within 3 points of the spread, I wouldn't touch. This early, with my numbers... nearly every one of the dogs cover. Vegas did a good job with the spreads IMO. Impact of Dobbs and Abortion Laws
ArdmoreRyno replied to ChiGoose's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Less likely to vote... what? Yes, abortion is a major issue to the democrats... it's 14% of their concerns I think I posted the stat that was released? Data by VOX (a very leftist media source) said that before the Dobbs ruling, there were 450,000 voters "new young voters" almost split 50-50 (around 100,000 each) when it came to parties (ind. were the vast majority of regsitered voters) and post, the number at the time of the data was 52,000 new voters, around 10,000 GOP and 20,000 DNC (again, most were ind.). -
I agree... I can certainly see Texas lose something like 38-14 but I think UT talent is really higher than it has been the past few years. I see something like: Texas 20 Alabama 35

I never said anything about abortion or women. I talked about what the main issues are to American voters right now and where the projections in Congress are looking. -
Impact of Dobbs and Abortion Laws
ArdmoreRyno replied to ChiGoose's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Did I say women? I said "number one issue" as in OVERALL to voters. Or are you going to do what you do best... assume things. The number one issue to voters is the economy. It normally is the number on issue in every election going back for a decade where terrorism and homeland secruity topped it all after 9/11. Gas prices, inflation, or other economic issues... those are THE biggest thing people worry about. In fact, here are the numbers via Quinnipiac: 34% economy 12% gun violence Nothing else is in double digits in regards to what voters care about. Breaking it down by party: GOP 48% economy 16% immigration Dems 22% gun violence 14% abortion 12% election laws 11% climate change Ind. 41% inflation (nothing else was in double digits) -
Impact of Dobbs and Abortion Laws
ArdmoreRyno replied to ChiGoose's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
The whole thing is interesting to see play out. You have the people fed up with how the current administration is handling things (and have been) then you have the abortion side of things. We will find out soon enough which was more of a pressing issue. -
Impact of Dobbs and Abortion Laws
ArdmoreRyno replied to ChiGoose's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Dude, chill out. I never said anything about "pre" or "post" Dobbs. You are assuming abortion is the NUMBER ONE ISSUE in the election coming up. It's not. And my post last week was 100% what I said in my reply before. Those were the projections posted by Politico. Not me. They project a 226-209 seat advantage in the House. When I posted that, it had a slight edge to the GOP in the Senate. https://www.politico.com/2022-election/race-forecasts-ratings-and-predictions/
