  1. Context matters dude. Sorry... I know you want to lump a couple of 30-year olds shooting at each other at a high school parking lot at 4 a.m. on a Sunday as a "School Shooting".... but it's not the same thing.
  2. Keep harping on this... you don't need to force anyone to carry, or have access to, a firearm at school. Only those staff members who are willing to do it and be properly trained. I'm talking CLEET type training. And I feel it needs to be more "front office" workers, like admin/principles. Seems most school shootings, the shooter starts by coming in the front door/entrance. Any? An AK actually just used in a home defense story the past week. You can google the news stories about home defense and AR's. AR-platforms are EXTREMELY popular home defense weapons. Easy to use, enough rounds to fend off several people. I personally have 3 different firearms that I go between for home defense... I have a Mossberg 500, 300 AAC Blackout (which is an AR platform rifle... suppressed) and my Stribog 9mm (suppressed... I have a video on here of me shooting that one).
  3. Yea. If a 19 year old kid is selling meth/crack/etc. in the projects to down and out people, then get into a gun battle with rivals... yea. They aren't the same as a 12 year old who got shot at a school sitting in class.
  4. Would you rather have (throwing out a mythical scenario) 3 accidental discharges/deaths by armed staff/SRO in schools or have 50 school children killed per year in a legit school shooting?
  5. Has nothing to do with what we were talking about... and we've talked about how you can lump certain ages to fit a narrative (like the 19 and under stat, instead of 18 and under).
  6. Funny, again... most Asian hate crimes are not carried out by right wingers. You know this. Studies show that one race in particular are the main people harming Asians. And I'm still not seeing where people are blaming the Chinese people.
  7. What right wing people blamed the people of China? The Chinese government? Yea. Not the Chinese people. If you're talking about the Asian hate crimes... those haven't been carried out by right wing people. What is your definition of "a lot"? You're making assumptions. He knows. He just won't admit that those deaths don't fit the liberal agenda. They only care about 'white on black' or 'police on black' incidents.
  8. 400 million guns in the country... you have to go looking for rare incidents to damn all gun-owners. So, we should damn every Muslim for 9/11?
  9. The war in Ukraine is 95% on the West and NATO (United States, mostly). If you people can't see that, you're clueless. https://www.jstor.org/stable/24483306
  10. Home defense? All the time.
  11. Nearly EVERY SINGLE so-called "mass shooting" listed are gang related. The FBI doesn't count those, nor should they.
  12. Google is a pretty cool search engine. Might give it a try! https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11964843/New-York-man-bail-shooting-three-cops-charged-killing-two-men-Easter.html
  13. Maybe the most 'beta male' I've ever seen. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. I just can't get into the new phase crap. It's been horrible so far. I haven't been able to finish the new Black Panther movie, I could barely get through one episode of Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk looked so HORRIBLE in the trailers... I never bothered starting it. The last Thor movie was PAINFUL to get through. I mean, painful. I'll still watch the Ant-Man, Guardians and the Spider-Man movies, seeing Daredevil in the last one made me so damn excited. I so hope Disney doesn't screw Charlie Cox's character. I can't wait for The Punisher with Jon Bernthal to come back. Netflix made masterpieces with Daredevil, The Punisher and Jessica Jones (season 1). I even liked Luke Cage (season 1). Some of the Disney+ shows they have come out with, aside from Loki, Moon Knight and WandaVision, have been pretty awful IMO.
  15. I wish it would jump back to the October 2021 prices! My account is still 1/3 of what it was, but still up a ton since I first started investing in early 2018. ETC was around $120 back then. BTC was $8000
  16. Some states already have a 'wait period'. Here's my counter argument to the time delay deal: I have two girls... both adults. If either of them are in an abusive relationship (that I don't know about because then this theoretical scenario is moot") and fear that their partner will hurt them, kill them, etc. and want to buy a gun to protect themselves... I don't want them to have to wait 3 days, 10 days, etc. I want them to be allowed to go in and take home their firearm THAT DAY after their NICS check comes back. There has been times in states with delays, someone is killed by their partner before the were able to get their handgun/shotgun/rifle. In 2022, 55,000 firearms were bought legally last year PER DAY. There were around 60 'mass shootings' in total in that time-frame. 20,000,000 purchases in a year to 60 shootings. Dude who in going to be on trial for attempted murder, released w/o bail... shoots 3 people with a handgun... so let's ban the AR-15. That's NYC for ya. The New York City DA helped add another "mass shooting" to the media/liberal narrative.
  17. Every semi-auto can. Colt 1911, Glock 17, Ruger 10-22, etc. As fast as you can pull the trigger. The ban only changed the “looks” of the AR. It didn’t change how it functioned or the lethality. So the drop is purely coincidental. A 5.56/.223 and firing rate didn’t change with the ban. They removed dumb things like the bayonet lug, the muzzle device, removed adding a “grenade launcher” (LOL!), collapsible stock, etc.
  18. Congress made it a federal law. NFA was passed in 1934. Made it illegal to own several weapon types without a $200 approved tax stamp.
  19. I need to get it out of the way saying, it would never be possible IMO. That said... are we talking "ban" as in you can no longer own one (not grandfathered... call it "total ban") or you can't buy/sell/give one after X date? Total ban: You'd have to tell people to turn their rifle in for X amount of money by a certain date. If you don't, you are now a felon. Grandfathered: Would require people to register their rifle with the ATF and no more could be bought, sold or given to someone. Most LEO in the nation would never go door-to-door to demand confiscation of their rifle. They would likely ignore the federal government to go grab them. Right now, hundreds of sheriff dept's across the country have come out to say they will not comply with the ATF new "pistol brace" rule. I'd imagine if federal LEO tried to go door-to-door, you'd have chaos and the loss of life would be huge. There are people would would fight back and believe it's Civil War II. This then all goes back to the fact, no criminal will care. They will keep doing illegal crap on the street with their illegal gun... just like they are doing today. That's what all of us legal gun owners continue to scream... it only harms those who follow the law to a "T".
  20. ^^THIS^^ is the correct answer. That's the reason people want it banned. They wouldn't care about this because it's got wood furniture instead of scary black furniture.
  21. Not trying to beat a dead horse here, but you do know this is basically ALL center fired weapons that come out of a rifle? Center fire = uses a primer like a .308, 5.56 even 9mm Rim fire = .22LR, .22 short, etc "High Power" is normally concerned to be the bullet, rather than the weapon. You can buy an AR style rifle (I call AR platforms) in a .22LR, it's defiantly not high power. Removing those weapons would mean, you are removing virtually ALL rifles in the United States today, other than a .22LR. So .308, 30-06, etc. are all now banned. People can no longer hunt with a rifle other than shooting small game with a .22LR. This rifle and the round it fired (300 win mag) has 3x the energy as the AR-15 round (5.56). It is 200 grain vs 62 grain for a 5.56. 300 win mag is a very popular caliber to hunt with. That's now banned?
  22. The Omen The Howling (scared me as a kid) Prince of Darkness (corny as hell, but parts of it FREAKED ME OUT)
  23. Not sure what you mean by "less lethal weapons". We have 400 million firearms in the country and a 2A which gives us the right to protect ourselves. As for mental health... this is where the problems start. Here is a good list of mental health regulations in regards to gun ownership, by state. How do you expand upon this? The loon in Louisville... he showed nothing that would have kept him from buying a firearm. He ranted about Trump online, but we all do that. https://www.ncsl.org/civil-and-criminal-justice/possession-of-firearms-by-people-with-mental-illness
  24. Well, a few things... It isn't. You don't do background checks to get your DL. You simply pass a test and pay whatever the fee is in your state. As for the mentally ill not being allowed to buy a firearm... okay... what does that mean? What diagnosis' are the cutoff point? I've talked about this many times on his thread as well... we do have laws that are supposed to stop certain mentally ill people from buying/owning a firearm. Every state has a different law, but all have the standard if someone is a threat to themselves or others, they are not allowed to own a firearm.
  25. I'm a mental health counselor... and a huge proponent of marijuana/THC for several things. Would MUCH rather have my patients smoking or having an edible over taking a benzo that they'll get hooked on and that could kill them.
