  1. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/sto...y/National/home Scientists have alerted British Columbia's emergency-planning department to the possibility of a catastrophic earthquake striking the province's southwest coast next week. While the probability of a quake is still low, rapid strides in earthquake detection have given federal scientists with the Pacific Geoscience Centre on Vancouver Island greater confidence in their ability to predict when and where one will occur. Garry Rogers, a seismologist at the centre, compared the current earthquake odds to the dangers of driving a car. “Everyone drives their car every day, and the probability of getting in a car accident is small,” Dr. Rogers said. But during rush hour, the probability of getting into an accident is much higher. “Well, Vancouver Island is now driving in rush hour.”
  2. Feedback? How is the speed? Is it worth it for the $45 or so a month? I am shopping for a new smartphone and was looking for one with wi-fi but if EVDO is decent, it would clearly be better than wi-fi as not hotspot is needed. Thanks!
  3. PROFIT SHARING! Sorry, I'm a bit excited about that as it is just weeks away for me! $$$
  4. Well I wasn't going to do that.... Which one of my friends needs a few extra dollars?... Damn, so many good ideas. To clarify: 1) There WILL be a TV in the bathroom. 2) As far as guys not being "men" for taking a crap during the game, these same guys will have likely had a rough night partying saturday night, and then come over and drink massive amounts of beer and eat hot wings, greasy pizza, and whatever snack trays the girls bring. 3) I was 90% kidding about putting snacks in the crapper. 4) I'm starting to think behind the toilet is the better option. Guys won't miss a minute, they won't feel obligated to sit and pee (which is the most homosexual act I have ever heard of) and the women will either miss a couple minutes or have to stand and pee. But then again these are women, they don't watch football anyway. They'll be here for decoration.
  5. I have done each in the past, but not regularly.
  6. To the side of the throne, on a TV tray you say? That may just work.... And then I can possibly use the shelf for snacks.
  7. Well, I am hosting a Super Bowl party this Sundee (which is the way very old people or people from the South say "Sunday") and I need a bit of advice. We have the largest TV in the living room of course. Following this up, we have a 27 inch in the kitchen. We also placed a 20" in the basement, as down there is the pool table and some people will be gathering there I'm sure. The question comes with what to do with the 13" TV that we are going to put in the bathroom. Two options: 1) Put it on the shelf behind the crapper, meaning only guys (and only guys who are pissing) will be able to enjoy the game; and only for the 30 seconds - 1 minute they are in there (however, they will be in there a couple thousand times, depending on beer consumption). OR 2) Put up a shelf that would make the game viewable while sitting. This allows the ladies to view the game, but more importantly allows the guys who are "Taking the Browns to the Super Bowl" to watch the game in style. Damn Super Bowl and its damn ability to force me to problem solve.
  8. unless you're a huge nerd and have actually seen the show that this "joke" was based on, i'd say you'd have a right to be a little scared to see a random black box with blinking lights on it at a train station in a major metropolis.... but that's just me.
  9. I agree 100%, IF they are done perfectly. Most people don't do them correctly, or do the first handful correctly and that's it. And then they wonder why their shoulders hurt. And most people that don't "have time for the gym" just aren't trying. Good luck with the triathlon!!
  10. I've never been in a situation where I've fallen flat on my face and the easiest option wasn't just to roll over and stand up. And as many times as I've considered it, I don't think as hard as I push I'll get the world to move. My answer is 0, simply because I think pushups are a pointless exercise. There are MUCH better alternatives for every muscle group. Push ups are a good way to put unneeded stress on your shoulders.
  11. Thanks... so the "premium package" has all I will need as far as HardDrive, etc?
  12. Obviously, I've done alot of research already, CNET, googled reviews, etc... But as I will be dropping some major scratch on this purchase, was wondering who has hands on experience with each system... Currently, I do not own an HDTV, so the fact that the PS3 has a BluRay player is nice, but not a HUGE influence. I will hopefully upgrading to an HDTV soon as well The main reason for me getting either system will be to play Madden 07 and NHL 07 and the next few years releases of each. I only play sports games. I really feel like its down to the PS3 and the Wii for me as I simply haven't heard as much about the 360 and more importantly its a Microsoft product and you have to purchase multiple add-ons or upgrades to get the full experience. Any input would be appreciated. THANKS!
  13. For a while I was pretty sure he was human, but after further consideration I realized no human face has even been distorted that way. I'm starting to think he's part lizard.... Whenever he speaks - especially when arguing a point - his otherwise human looking face turns into something out of a video game. Thoughts?
  14. I am looking for 2 tickets to Saturdays game. PM me with a price... Thanks
  15. AWESOME! thanks.... That took all of 30 seconds... thanks again.
  16. So, I replaced my harddrive on my Dell 700m laptop several weeks ago. All is good (after a crapload of work getting drivers, etc) except my USB ports don't recognize anything I plug into them (my ipod and my jump drive). The strange thing is, my iPod (its a Shuffle, so its basically a glorified jump drive) will charge when it is plugged into the port, but my computer doesn't see it. I've been to Dell's website but there are no drivers specifically for the USB ports. Any ideas as to why the USB no longer works, yet will still charge my iPod shuffle? I'm guessing that no matter what there is power going to them, but I need to do something to make them recognize an actual drive....??? Thanks in advance...
  17. So, I was wrong to think these meant the Sabres already won the cup?!?!?!?! Give a rest...
  18. I love football. I'll watch every game I can.
  19. http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/powerranking...mp;lid=tab4pos2 Sounds about right to me
  20. I was about to turn it off after that late regulation interception, but didn't. That was the best football game I have ever seen. Period.
  21. I feel bad for anyone who can't allow themselves to have some stupid fun now and then.
