  1. One of the first female rock 'n' roll guitar players, Sister Rosetta Tharpe... Here is a collection of some of her guitar solos...
  2. French and Saunders
  3. All the veterans' quotes the OP provided regarding Josh Allen were also made in public. How do you know what the veterans thought about Allen in private or in the locker room?
  4. For the most part, it just seems to be selective memory. You remember the correct predictions and overlook the ones that went wrong. Just one example: Josh Rosen's 2018 Arizona teammates glowing praise of Josh Rosen. https://www.espn.com/blog/arizona-cardinals/post/_/id/30766/josh-rosen-a-favorite-among-teammates-who-say-hes-not-weird
  5. That is a very impressive video. Thanks for sharing.
  6. The Brian Jonestown Massacre - the only band I know which employs a full-time tambourine player (although in this clip Joel Gijon has a few spoken words)
  7. Gentle Giant had a unique mix of progressive/folk/baroque elements. I saw them once in concert, and I was baffled to see how many different types of instrument each band member would play. Here they get out the recorders in the last three minutes... And then they add the strings...
  8. A folk/rock/indie band from Iceland (total population 370,000). Of Monsters And Men bear similarities to the most famous Icelandic band, the Sugarcubes. Front woman Nanna Bryndis even looks like Bjork's younger sister...
  9. Footage of live performances by Captain Beefheart & the Magic Band is rare. Here is a longer clip from German public TV.
  10. I love British sitcoms. My favorite three characters Basil Fawlty (Fawlty Towers) Edina Monsoon (Ab Fab) Arnold Rimmer (Red Dwarf) On the American side Colonel Potter (M*A*S*H) Lois Wilkerson (Malcolm in the Middle)
  11. This title of this song is often (incorrectly) given as "What's Going On", because that are the actual lyrics. This reminds me of other, IMHO better songs with that title. Of course, there is Marvin Gaye, but that is not my kind of music. However, I have to offer: The Taste w/ Rory Gallagher and Hüsker Dü (sorry, no video)
  12. Do you think that there is an equivalent of the OP on a Chief's web site complaining that they are in a disadvantage because the Bills played one fewer of their "regular" games?
  13. One thing Short and Allen (and Trudeau) are missing is Osteen's halo-like hairstyle. I do not think that this is unintentional.
  14. An all-female band with a very strong rhythm section is not easy to find...
  15. ... or Muggsy Bogues
  16. The same for me. During the Sunday afternoon time slots when the Bills are not playing, I usually watch our main competition (whichever team this is at that point of time). I should add that there is a difference between watching the Bills and other teams. When the Bills are playing, this is my only focus. When watching non-Bills games, I might multi-task and work on something else concurrently. E.g., from our kitchen I have a good view of the living-room TV. I can do simple chores while still watching TV.
  17. Called today because of issues not related to the Sunday ticket. When they replaced my old HR20 receiver with a mini Genie last week, they also enrolled me in a protection plan, which I cancelled. Due to some screw-up on DirecTV's side, during the replacement I was for a week without DirecTV; they credited me $44 for this loss of service. Then I asked about the Sunday ticket for loyal customers (I have been with them since 2003). I got $16.50 off per month of the Sunday ticket (for 6 months) plus $45 off per month of the total bill for a year. Total savings: ~$640 (without the reimbursement for the week without TV).
  18. Excellent write-up, as always. Just a comment regarding the Bears' commentators. After listening to a number of other broadcasts with home team commentators, I enjoyed listening to the Bears' team. They were pretty balanced, and well-informed and very complimentary about the Bills.
  19. Inspired by this video, I bought one of their CDs, "Coral Fang". Although in general I prefer live recordings, it is still an intriguing piece of work. Thanks!
  20. From Dublin, with several connections to U2 (but, IMHO, much more interesting than U2) ... The Virgin Prunes
  21. I know, all these big cats can be confusing, but a Jaguar is not the same as a Panther.
  22. The Marx Brothers' "Duck Soup" has many aspects that are still (or again) relevant today.
