One issue I noticed all year, is Wallace is an unwilling tackler. Multiple times he gets washed out of the play being blocked by a WR, or taking a terrible angle (on purpose?) when a running or screen play comes to his side of the field. I haven’t noticed the same thing with Tre, Dane Jackson, or Johnson.

On the original topic of the thread (and not the weird turn it has taken), I wouldn't be surprised if Daboll was a little bit fed up here. It's clear that he wasn't on the same page as McDermott during the regular season. He even got publicly called out during a post game press conference about the lack of balance in the play calling, and our inability to run the ball. I also don't think it is that concerning or unusual...ego-driven people at the top of their fields butt heads. Especially considering Daboll really wanted a HC job, his incentives may not have been perfectly aligned with that of McDermott.

I think people are absolutely saying it is an indictment on the GM and coaching staff. The defense was weaker than tissue paper the past 2 playoff matchups vs KC. Allen didn't have anything to do with their poor performance.

I voted DL, because a pass rush that gets sacks is something our defense is really missing. - Hughes and Addison will probably be gone. - Levi Wallace is going to get overpaid, so we probably move on. - Morse may retire. - Tre White may not be back until into the season. - Star is probably not coming back. - Sanders and McKenzie aren’t coming back (probably cut Cole loose too imo). - Something has to be done at guard. Neither Ford or Feliciano should be slotted as starters. We need DL, IOL, and CB. We are going to have a lot of starters to replace, Beane is going to have to earn his paycheck for sure.

Mahomes choked that away big time. His last 6 plays were terrible. It included a strip sack to make the FG way harder (maybe the only thing he couldn’t do there), a should have been pick, and an actual pick. I guess his luck ran out…

Chiefs have the perfect playoff offense. Hold and obstruct as much as possible. They will never call it in crunch time!

Von Miller literally just had a strip sack on Brady last weekend that helped the Rams win the game. We could have traded for him just the same as the Rams and maybe Mahomes doesnt slip away on all those third downs during the Chiefs first drive...

I think there have been some rumblings about Morse retiring. Some dude talked to his uncle in an airport and he implied he wasn’t returning (can’t remember which thread, take with a grain of salt). I think he also takes care of his disabled brother in KC, which he might want to spend more time doing.

I have to think this was the game plan. Just poorly executed by undisciplined players.

All I'm seeing here is draft better. If Rousseau or Basham were better players and get the Chiefs off the field for one of their drives then we win.

The free agent DEs aren't looking very good. A bunch of dudes as old as Jerry. Chandler Jones maybe? He'll be expensive...

Kelce in particular could fall off quickly. He's 32 years old with a lot of miles. But with our luck, he'll probably be elite for another 8 years.

And protecting the boundaries when they had all of their timeouts! Just a total miscall (not to mention they called TO before, so they had time to think about it!)

McDermott and Daboll seem like good coaches that motivate their players and install good systems. Their play calling and gameday decisions are head scratching a lot. I'm just hoping it can improve, because other aspects of McDermott's coaching seems really good... I actually think it has improved some. They got outcoached way worse last year in the AFCCG.
