  1. Didn't see a thread. Hope no one minds one being started. Bengals start in possession. Come on Steelers!
  2. 😃 Both teams have been winning of late but, admittedly, for the early part of the season (weeks two to four aside) the Bills have struggled whilst Ipswich have done well. Maybe there's going to be a change between the two now.
  3. The soccer team I support were utterly embarrassed today, which means I feel really deflated going into tonight. Hope the Bills can pick me up again. In fairness, if one team had to win and the other lose, it's more important for the Bills to get the win.
  4. The Bills won that game arguably on a missed defensive penalty at the death. If it had been given, and the Giants had won, would Dorsey have been fired then? And then the Bills only lost to the Broncos due to 12 men on the field for the missed kick. If Special Teams had done their job, would Dorsey have kept his position for at least another week? Considering the reaction post Broncos perhaps the Bills would have been better off if the penalty had been given, leading to a Giants win.
  5. This game just feels like a re-run of the Pats. A game everyone expects the Bills to win. A game the Bills have no right to lose. And yet... Get the win and move on to week seventeen. But I'm not taking anything for granted.
  6. Josh has the ability to push himself into MVP contention. Whether that’s right for him or the Bills is another thing altogether. As you say, yesterday did him no favours at all although he did nothing wrong.
  7. I'd agree but I think Pro-Bowl and, as an extension MVP, is voted more on how teams do than individual players. If Josh has three games of four TDs and no INTs/fumbles but the defense give up 30+ and the Bills go 0-3, Josh won't have a chance, no matter what his personal record is.
  8. I rate Purdy more than most... remember how other QBs have performed in that much vauted offense. But I agree, CMC is the 49er MVP, followed by Samuel, Aiyuk and Williams. From memory, I think Williams and Aiyuk were both missing for the games the 49ers lost this year.
  9. If it's like last year, the voting for pro bowl opened around 14th November, just after the Bills lost to the Broncos and Josh saw his OC sacked. Now, some would have held back their votes until nearer the closure date, which is probably some time this week. If they didn't then I think Tua, Jackson and Mahomes will get the votes, along with the press hype surrounding Stroud (which, IMO, is more down to the presence of Dell but that's bye the bye). Admittedly, due to the early voting window for Pro-Bowl, it doesn't necessarily impact MVP. If Josh sees this through with clutch performances over the next three weeks then he'll be up there. Yesterday was clutch but not in a traditional Josh way. It was mature and controlled - just what the Bills needed.
  10. To be blunt, if the Pro-Bow was selected today then the three AFC QBs would be Jackson, Tua and Mahomes. Josh may get the reserve spot, though Stroud be awarded that instead. If he isn't in the top three AFC QBs he won't be in the MVP conversation. And if the Bills change their style to implement more of a run game then that could affect his chances sooner. But winning is the priority, though Josh has the ability to drag himself into contention.
  11. They finish with the Bucs, Panthers and Titans, so should at least get to 10-7. They have the head to head tiebreak over the Colts, so Indianapolis would have to go 3-0 to overtake them. It’s possible, but they’re at a Falcons side still fighting for the NFC South then home to the Raiders and the Texans. With the Texans, the Jags would take the South on conference record if the Texans lost to the Colts but won the other two. If they beat the Colts and have won at least one other (most likely against the Titans), then it’s getting interesting.
  12. Part of me wonders whether every high calibre QB would be as accepting as Josh about taking the ball out of his hands? Would they be kicking off, wanting the attention on them? Not all, but definitely some. Another reason the Bills are lucky to have him.
  13. Wasn’t it Denver?
  14. A Jaguars defeat would drag them back into the play off fight, but they have the tiebreak over the Bills and have a run in of at Bucs, vs Panthers, at Titans. They should be 2-1 at least which would take them to 10-7 and ahead of the Bills if they lose one more. Admittedly, even if the Ravens win, they go to the 49ers next, and a loss there would mean they would have to go all in against the Dolphins for the one seed. But perhaps that’s what we want - assurance they will have to commit to that game? So probably Jags to win. But not as important as it was for the Lions, Bears, Titans and Jets to win this week. One out of four ain’t bad, I suppose… ETA - Considering the London game, nothing would bring me greater pleasure of knocking the Jags out of the play off spots, outside of taking the East.
  15. I read the first line and honestly thought you were insulting the OP for a moment. Moving on!
  16. OK, ice water time. Maybe because it’s nearly 2am here so tiredness is bringing me down slightly. Excellent win today. But for all those calling out the fans who criticised McDermott and thought his time might be up - this is why. The potential of this team could be seen. As it is, the Bills are still in a dicey position heading into week sixteen. Results went against them but they’re relying on that because of poor calling and executing before the bye. The poor calling and executing which falls on the head coach. Maybe they’re heating up at the right time. Maybe they cut a swathe through the AFC and make the Super Bowl. The only team I really fear is the 49ers (though the Bengals seem to be something of a nemesis). But there are three games to go of the regular season and, if they don’t make the play offs, or fail in a particularly Billsy way if they get there, I’m sure the pressure will return on McDermott. Great win but far too soon to gloat or think all issues have been sorted. I think most of us thought the Bills were well on their way after week four.
  17. If the Bills don't make it, it's all on them. Not lesser teams falling apart at the death.
  18. At least the Jets lost early so we could get used to it. As for the Bears...
  19. The Broncos losing yesterday. That's all the Bills are going to get.
  20. I actually thought the Jets could do the Bills a favor today. More fool me.
  21. I swear they're doing it as a two fingered salute to the Chiefs.
  22. Well, the Colts look all over the Steelers now so...
  23. But all of this is based on the Bills beating the Cowboys. That is hardly a given. I'd argue a Steelers win is better to cover off the possibility of the Bills losing tomorrow. Then, in all liklihood, one of the Steelers or Bengals will drop to 9-6 next week whilst the Bills should go to 8-7 or 9-6 themselves, depending on tomorrow's result. And, as I say it, the Colts take the lead.
  24. Sky in the UK haven't run a replay even though, during some breaks in play, they cut to their own coverage.
  25. Just what I was thinking. Cynically I wonder if he would have stayed down a bit longer if the guy weren't ejected. Would like to see the collision again to judge. At first look it seemed to be two guys diving for the ball.
