  1. Trotter heard the comment second hand from a reporter who is anonymous in the lawsuit. He did not hear it from Pegula himself. It may be the same with Jones; haven't seen that bit of the suit.
  2. No he didn't. A reporter quoted the 'comment' to the room, it wasn't Pegula himself.
  3. No, I think I'm wrong. Pegula wasn't present for the meeting where Trotter heard about this. A NFL reporter accused Pegula of saying this during a NFL Media Reporter meeting, at which point Trotter asked what was to be done. But then the question is where and when did he say it plus were there witnesses. Interesting the original reporter is seemingly being kept anonymous at this stage.
  4. Ah yes, you're right, sorry. A meeting was being held between NFL Media reporters, the reporter brought up the comment and Trotter asked what was to be done.
  5. To me, this reads as though Trotter was in the room when Pegula alledgedly said the comment so 'heard' it first hand? ETA: No, I'm incorrect. It was a NFL Media meeting, the reporter "quoted" Pegula and Trotter then asked what was to be done.
  6. So Trotter heard it second hand from another reporter? Or Trotter was the reporter Pegula reportedly said it to? Either way it sounds like hearsay, so not sure how it will stand up to scrutiny, and probably why the NFL didn't act. Unless there were other witnesses who were ignored.
  7. The two key for me are that the lawsuit directly quotes Pegula. It doesn't say, "is reported to have said" or "was suggested". He's quoted verbatim. However, Pegula has come out quickly to rebuke the accusation. If Pegula is found out to be lying he will be hauled over the coals and rightly so. If it's Trotter, probably nothing will happen.
  8. If I'm thinking of the right interception, I don't think the read was necessarily a bad one, but the throw was and that's what's led to the turnover. And, of course, Kincaid was a much safer option.
  9. Did the Araiza situation teach you anything? Guess it is still a case of guilty before being proven innocent.
  10. Clutching at straws, maybe 2023 will be 2022 in reverse? Josh starts by struggling, then clicks into gear later in the season. We need it to be the case. We can probably afford him to be a bit iffy for the next month or so, if it means he's at his best around and after the bye.
  11. My only hope is, against the Bengals, it was a case of everyone running out of steam so there was mitigation for the humbling. Maybe he said the right words, but felt it was something a summer away from football would actually solve. No excuse for yesterday, so can only hope it does act as an actual wake up call. My greatest concern is it will make him second guess himself even more. It's a shame Rodgers is in the division and Brady used to play in division as I could otherwise see them being happy to try and help him. But why would they do so when it would potentially be to the detriment of the Jets and Pats?
  12. Josh has to sort himself out first before being able to lead others. I think hesaid once that he doesn't feel like shouting at other players when he makes mistakes himself. He doesn't react to setbacks with calm, cool logic and he isn't one to rail at others. That's his base character and it's not going to change. To do so would be like the two of us suddenly deciding to ditch supporting Bills and cheering for the Phins instead. Who he is is in his blood.
  13. If true... I have no words. Dumb is putting it politely.
  14. Diggs being emotional is ok but the balance is off between the 'big three'. The Bills need a calm, logical voice within the offense for when mistakes occur and things threaten to snowball. I think Daboll was it and he has not been effectively replaced. This may get a few down votes but I actually prefer Dorsey's playcalling to Daboll's, and what he's trying to do with the offense. But it's not going to work if the quarterback is sprialling and seemingly no one can pull him out of it.
  15. Other than the fumble, at which point all he had to do was fall onto the ball, the errors came from unnecessary long plays.
  16. If he wants to, then fine. But if his games disintegrates then fingers will be pointed. Mayfield could have told him that.
  17. But my argument would be how "I want to win" comes about. Split Dorsey, Josh and Diggs in individual components and there's absolutely nothing wrong with their approach. You have people who react passionately, based on emotion, first (whether that results in outbursts or self flagellating) and others who are calmer and logical. IMO the issue the Bills have with offense is the three vocal leaders all react emotionally. They either lack someone with cool, calm logic in the locker room, or they're too quiet to impose themselves on three, in their own way, big characters - and who is going to try and impose themselves on the OC, QB and WR1? Looking at the Chiefs and Reid, Mahomes and Kelce all seem pretty cool and logical. Purdy seems pretty calm in San Francisco. Belichick can be emotional but Brady was relatively calm and Gronk seemed coolness personified when the heat is on. Hurts doesn't seem to get overly flustered. Does this mean things always go right for these teams? Of course not. But the disasters occur less regularly. Whilst Josh had issues in the first half, I think his spiral started after the hurdle in the second quarter and McDermott seemingly laid into him via the headset. I said it elsewhere when someone commented on Josh needing to be told 'No' - I agree, but it's also the manner of telling someone that. It has to be done correctly or it causes more problems, and I don't think McDermott can adequately communicate with Josh. Add on the loss of Dorsey on the touchline, where he was whilst Daboll was OC, and it almost creates a perfect storm. Brady seems incapable of taking on that role, and Diggs then has to step in, even though it isn't really his role to.
  18. He's CAPABLE of playing with the big boys; his performances against the Chiefs prove that. And he has potential to get back into post season 2021/start of 2022 mode. He just needs to reset and that is the question - is his mind in the right place, and does he have the correct support at OP to do so.
  19. What's wrong with that, though? So the offense takes time to get down the field, that's fine. At least 4.8 YPT progresses the football and retains possession. And, with Rodgers down, the Jets would have started to worry had the Bills dink and dunked on them.
  20. I wonder which fanbase is feeling worse at the moment - the Bills or the Jets? I suppose the latter. The Bills have hope Josh can turn it around again, whilst the Jets are left with Wilson. I did think it was a daft trade by them, though. They took a risk on a QB whose years are behind him.
  21. And the subsequent summer of playing games off the back of it.
  22. Up to the end of 2022, Josh had earned $85m according to Spotrac. He's hardly on the poverty line without the extra cash.
  23. But I think this is the point so many are saying - sometimes we don't need MVP Josh. Sometimes we don't need him to inspire fear into the NFL. Sometimes we just need him to win a game. The Trent Edwards approach would have been fine last night, dink and dunk, take the win, regroup and move on. It's week one; the biggest week of under and over reactions. The Bills looked superb in week one last season yet soiled the bed in the Play Offs. Let's hope this year is the other way round.
  24. And overly emotional. I honestly think this is a problem with the offense at the moment; the three key men in Josh, Diggs and Dorsey are generally emotion first, calm logic second. It can make for a hotbed of over-reaction and spiralling, which results in outcomes like yesterday. Saying that, it was good to see Diggs trying to gee Josh up before one of the final drives (in my tired state can't remember if it was before the last 4Q or OT drive), even if it perhaps came a touch too late.
  25. Have to admit, it does grate when players start promoting themselves before they've even won a ring. Mayfield did the same and got understandably ridiculed for it, especially when his form started to slide. And sure enough...
