Pre-game I'm logical. During and after the game I may not be, so setting my stall now. Week One rarely defines a season. The Chiefs and the Bengals both lost yesterday and will expect to be fighting for the number one seed. The same can be said for the Bills. Obviously, we don't want to follow the Giants and, quite frankly, the quality is there for that not to happen. But there are questions over the defense - specifcially the MLB - and the offensive line, as well as the integration of Kincaid, who could become a gamechanger. Football's back but it's a long season ahead, and a lot can happen. Luck plays a part as much as skill. The potential is there but maybe the expectation is less. That may not be a bad thing.

The final series? Blew it before they had a chance as usual.

It feels like Herbert has gone backwards since being drafted. Started strong and has slowly slipped.

Because he accidentally headbutts the tap?

Don't think anyone expected it to be. Honestly think the Bills, Jets and Dolphins could each finish anywhere between 1st and 3rd. Confident the Pats will be 4th.

In fairness, where was his O Line?

I'm still slightly dismayed at how quickly the rest of the AFC East recovered - well, the Dolphins and Jets anyway. The Patriots had years of average opposition in the division; the Bills maybe got a couple?

At least they folded quickly - gives their offense some time to play with. Though down a timeout due to the stupid challenge.

As somoene else said, they'd come up against much better defenses than the Chargers.

It's easy to do when the line holds up and the defense doesn't bother covering high quality players.

Oh FFS.

All Hurts needed to do there was go down, not challenge the defender.

Thank goodness, Myers back on his feet for the Raiders, though looks groggy.

WHAT was Metcalf doing in the Rams-Seahawks game? Just pushed Wetherspoon over for no reason.

3rd and long... the Chargers defense has been like the Bills' on third and long today.

He must be a Dolphins fan.

It was ridiculous - I honestly thought he was going to run around cheering to start with (forgetting to take a knee). And then he took it out for barely any gain and left the offense in a tough spot. That doesn't excuse the mess the offense made of the next series.

And then he ran straight towards him.

Lockett (Seahawks) being assessed for concussion.

I swear he was close to celebrating when he caught the ball, rather than running with it.

The Bills made the right decision to let him go. Finding a replacement has been more difficult.

They're not picking up the basics in defense - force Tua to throw to the outside. Are they bothering to watch Hill and Waddle? And that was utter stupidity from Jackson. Admittedly, I did write that at a specific point in an offensive drive when they were struggling to move the ball.

The Chargers and the Eagles look like a mess.

The worst thing is, if the Bills try this on Monday night, then we can be pretty sure the flags will be flying.
