  1. Josh may have not been great in the first half, but if he'd kept on that trajectory, instead of tail-spinned, the Bills would have won.
  2. Josh's egg laying is excessive compared to physical ability. It's also two competitive games in a row (three out of four including pre season) where he has looked shocking.
  3. It's not just saying 'No', it's the way it's said as well. I'm pretty sure McDermott laid the law down to Josh after that ridiculous hurdle in the 2nd Quarter but, instead of getting him into line, it seemed to lead to a full meltdown. Daboll, for the most part, seemed to know how to get through to Josh though he still had awful games under him. Do the Bills have anyone on the coaching staff able to have the requisite impact?
  4. How many wake up calls does he need? Steelers 2021, Jaguars 2021, Colts 2021, Bengals 2022. Still hasn't learned.
  5. Then why didn't the coaches look to engage? In the end, it took Diggs to go over and gee him up. Where was Joe Brady? When Daboll was OC, Dorsey was on the touchline. I think he needs to return there to be face to face with Josh. If that means Brady to the booth to spot patterns of play to report back to Dorsey so be it.
  6. Even as a Jets fan, you have to admit that was because Josh was trash more than fantastic defense.
  7. Josh does have a short memory. That's why he repeats the same mistakes time and time again.
  8. Yeah, last night maybe. Pity he's been lacking in leadership in the recent past.
  9. Yes, because the Vikings used the Bills pick on him.
  10. I don't think Josh dropped the s bomb because it was a way of getting the press off his back. It was his frustration coming out. My greater concern is he cannot see a way out of it.
  11. If anything the failure of last year weighs heavily on him. The worst thing to happen with the Bengals game is have an eight month gap after it. Hopefully having a six day turnaround will eradicate some of the dwelling.
  12. Rephrasing the question - will Josh ever reach his ceiling (again)?
  13. Point three - do the Bills have a structure in place which gets the best out of Josh?
  14. It's more a case of making an example of Josh - you're not listening so sit down and think on it - rather than expecting anything good out of Kyle, to be honest. The question is how would Josh deal with public humiliation from the coaching team? Will it help him reset or just make him more nervous and desperate? Again, the coaches have to make the right choice.
  15. I said after the game if the same thing happens against the Raiders, then Kyle Allen needs to come in for a series of two. See if extreme measures can work. Trouble is, if Kyle has a nightmare, it just re-enforces Josh as the best option, which we know is the case any way. Something needs to give, and it's up to the coaches to make the right choice. Does he need an arm round the shoulder? A boot up the backside? A good cop/bad cop routine? If they don't get it right then Miami will have no competition in the AFCE.
  16. Big question - what's the solution?
  17. Just an example of the stupidity and ill discipline which permeates through this team.
  18. Daboll, or the combination of Daboll and Dorsey, certainly seemed to have a better grip on him then there seems to be now. I think there's an OC, QC coach or combination out there who can rein (reign? I don't know) him in. It's about lucking out an appointing the right person or people. For now, I do want to see Dorsey on the touchline for the Raiders game.
  19. Said exactly the same last night. Call him out and show that enough is enough.
  20. Trouble is is McDermott is defense. He can tell Josh to play smarter but not explain the intricacies of each series. Plus, if Josh is on the sidelines then, more often that not, McDermott will be playcalling. It needs to be Dorsey.
  21. Think it was GunnerBill who said Daboll used to be in the booth after year one, but Dorsey was on the touchline with Josh. I do think he perhaps needs to move back down with him, give it a go and see what happens.
  22. True, he definitely trusted Dorsey before. Maybe he still does. I do think the protect yourself/don't run mantra has screwed him over somewhat. Second half yesterday, in particular, he seemed to continually make the wrong decision.
  23. Coaches can help with the mental state of players. Josh seems to be spiralling and everyone appears clueless as to how to resolve it. It's not that he can't do it - look at the majority of 2021 and start of 2022.
  24. Just said on another thread, if they're incapable of reigning Josh in then there needs to be a change. Do I think he could be reigned in? Yes, with the right approach.
  25. That means the Bills need to get someone in who can reign him in. McDermott, Dorsey and J Brady all seem incapable.
