  1. Professional athletes play routinely with partially torn miniscus. He’ll have the best therapy and with 4 or 5 weeks to build the knee back up, he should be able to contribute. Shutting him down for the year is not an option. He will be back for the stretch and the playoffs.
  2. You’re lumping in catch ratio with the idea that Gabe’s talent level is substandard. Aren’t you forgetting about production,(tds, yds, receptions and a team’s record) and what’s the Knox deficiency? Motor has been productive with the limited touches in Dorsey’s offense and Cook looks like he’s explosive. This is a talented offense that has been flat for a few games in the middle of a long season against a tough schedule. You’re pointing to some games where drops happened, but let me remind you Davis has been great on the biggest stage, the playoffs. His performance in consecutive games against NE and KC are two of the best in Bills history. He was great against Indy in his rookie year. How quickly we forget.
  3. The will be the last attempt at giving you some perspective on Davis. In a game where Diggs was taken away, Davis had enough route running to score 4 TDs against a team that knew we were throwing to him. He’s a guy who every team would pursue in free agency because of his production this season, as bad as you think his route running is. What fail-safes did we have in those games. Beasley was hurt, McKenzie was invisible and Sanders was hurt. How many Bills receivers have performed better than Davis in 4 playoff games in his first 2 years? I’ll give you a hint; NONE
  4. OBJ is a me first, injury riddled diva who had some good games in LA before his predictable injury. He wants big money and he’s a jerk if he doesn’t get targets. He was a net loss in NY, who dumped him for peanuts and he tried to destroy the Browns because Baker didn’t trust him to catch the ball. We could use another receiver because they never replaced Beasley, but OBJ is a one man team wrecker, who can’t stay on the field.
  5. Again, what’s the difference between a fine 3 and a substandard 2 when he’s the only option at number 2 and he’s had success in the playoffs both in his rookie season and last season. As mentioned, he’s been playing hurt this season which is huge, and he’s been productive. Do you think his drop against the Jets is the reason we lost? Other than that, the defense was substandard in the Minn and and Jets losses, and we’re 8 and 0 in the other games. I don’t count that Miami game because there could have been fatalities due to the NFL oblivious conduct regarding the heat. By the way, were you worried about catch ratio when he destroyed the Pats and Chiefs in the playoffs.
  6. So when I use statistics I’m oversimplifying and you use statistics on catch ratio which could have stemmed from 2 or 3 drops over a few games to render him untalented. Why the negativity and the need to diminish our talent level? Because Greg Cosell said so during a blog interview. Funny, I’ve been listening to him every week on the “Herd” , and he never once mentioned a lack of talent on our offense. Maybe he had nothing fresh or noteworthy to say. We are watching a rookie ( Cook) evolving into a contributor and Hines being integrated into our offense. One offensive explosion and you’re back on the bandwagon.
  7. He’s a 3rd year who has ascended to the number 2 guy and has shown a capacity to play his best in the biggest games. He had an ankle injury and missed 1 game. I’m not a Doctor but his explosion has to be limited for a little bit. We’re 8 and 3 and we have 6 games left. Don’t diminish this guy for kicks. Let the season take shape This is a talented receiver. I’m watching the NFL for 50 plus.
  8. Where is he now? He’s the number 2 receiver on an 8and3 club. He’s got 650 yds and a 20 yd average per catch thru 10 games played. If we project his stats it gives him a little under 1100 yds and 60 catches as a number 2. With 8 or 9 tds. He’s been dinged and plays thru injury. What are you looking for, Diggs numbers?
  9. Did you think that Davis wasn’t an incredible talent after the Chiefs playoff game, as a 2nd year player? When you watch Knox, with his speed and ability to get downfield, do you doubt his talent? When you watched Singletary against the Browns, do you not see talent there. Cosell has an opinion like all the people on this board. We watch all the games carefully and see the strengths and weaknesses of the players.
  10. Who’s average or below? Davis? Knox? Singletary? Were they average or below through the playoffs last year or through the 1st 7 games this year. Do you even watch the games. The reason we lost 2 of the 3 games was our defense. (Jets, Minn)
  11. You can’t take these hypercritical sad sacks seriously. These are same humorless folks that ran Cole out of town and tried to do the same to Edmunds. When Josh had a hiccup for a couple of games, they turned on him. Obviously they liked it better when we were bottom feeder for the last 30 years.
  12. Cosell is not exactly accurate IMO. First, the O-line is serviceable for the type of offense we’re running. Quick release dump offs and underneath throws setting up draws and Josh’s incredible arm talent with downfield passing either in the pocket or when he’s flushed. His long runs are a product of the 5 wide spreads with running lanes open and that gets 1st downs and big gains. I truly believe Knox and Davis are quality weapons and Singletary and Cook have been good either with runs or underneath throws. The slot receiver position has not been good since Cole left, but McKenzie had a big game against Detroit and might be better going forward. Hines must be used more because he has tremendous upside. Bottom line, Josh makes everyone better and when plays his best this offense is as good as any. See Rams, Titans, KC, Pittsburgh games as evidence. Even Minn, excluding turnover, the offense was pretty impressive.
  13. Sounds right on the money. Why do you think Shakir has not been targeted at all? He’s got ability. I wonder if Josh just has him buried in the back of the progressions.
  14. I love Cole, but why kill McKenzie after he saved our ass with his best game in 2 years against Detroit?
  15. You’re just a rose color glasses type of guy,and that’s fine. Please stop with statistics. Their defense doesn’t pass the eye test. Their tackling hasn’t been good. They were a Josh pulling a win out of his rear end against the Lions. Going forward if they get some guys back we’ll see. Be objective please. By the way, this observation is shared by the national media as well.
  16. It’s a reasonable argument to point to injuries, tough schedule and being statistically impressive, but we’re talking about the last 4 games and the depth personnel we’ve put out there. Now I understand you’re reluctant to acknowledge our tackling and pass defense has been substandard and my observations are the knee jerk reaction of some overly critical red hot, but I’ m just a fan like you who has a take on my team.
  17. Me too, but he’s a free agent at the end of the season. I guess with Milano and Edmunds it wasn’t an area of need.
  18. Roquain would have been perfect except it would have been too much for Beane and his reluctance to give up draft capital. AJ looks like he will really help if Milano or Edmunds have to miss time.
  19. Frazier and Sean are not coaching up young, inexperienced dbs to wrap up and bring fundamentals and physicality to tackling. These guys are trying to strip and grab and teams like Detroit and the Jets ran for big numbers. Good tackling is a mentality and other than Johnson, White and Elam our secondary is not there yet. When Milano or Edmunds are not on the field, we struggle in the run game.
  20. Oliver’s showing me something. He’s our most aggressive tackle and paired with Dequan provide just what we desperately need with our edge guys dinged up. Give him a 2nd contract sooner than later.
  21. Any fan who turns on Josh deserves the purgatory we resided in for 30 years. This guy leaves his everything on the field and when the Bills lose, he takes full responsibility unlike many pro QBs. He had a 2 game hiccup. Deal with it, he’s in the conversation for best QB in football and finds a way with a diminished roster. He is Bills football.
  22. Just accept the idea of great teams finding a way to win. Limiting teams to fgs instead of tds. Then taking advantage of loose coverage to get the winning score. Gotta love to he resilience.
  23. You have to be kidding. This game was won by a team that wanted it more. They get the ball with 27 seconds and Josh throws a 40 yard seed to Diggs. Then our QB runs it to makeable fg range and our kicker makes a pressure fg to win. We won this game without any help from the football gods .
  24. We will see how the depth in the secondary, receivers and O-line work out. I guess for most of the games left on the schedule, we can gut it out( Lions, Jets, Pats) but Cinn and Miami will be tricky.
  25. Stop talking about the roster that beat KC earlier. My point is that our depth players in the secondary are inexperienced and have been bad against good receivers and whenEdmunds, Milano or Poyer don’t play we can’t stop the run .The team that played KC last year had Hyde, Poyer, Wallace, Beasley, Sanders. When Milano or Edmunds miss time I have no faith in our defense. The receiving corp hasn’t shown we have replaced Beasley adequately and our O-line lacks quality depth. If you think this team goes into KC as constructed and wins in the playoffs you’re not objective.
